  1. Just being nosy Andy but for future reference what was the software?
  2. Sorry Beta Basher but you've just discovered why your bike was cheap In my opinion honesty is the best policy so these are your options as i see them... Sell your bike and buy a 125 Buy a barrel and piston kit to convert yours to a 125 (Not 100% sure this is possible on a sherco) Only enter AMCA events. Here a link to their sites so you can see which clubs are close... http://www.amca.uk.com/clubs.html Have a word with your local ACU club. Explain your situation and ask for help. They MAY let you ride especially as you are just a beginner but the ACU are making this more difficult and insurance may be an issue. Best of luck
  3. If it's a 95 then it should be a JT which imho were very good bikes. The weakest part being the rear subframe assembly. However, I would strongly recomend that you look for something with less oomph as a first bike. Look for a 200 or 250
  4. You can't simply change the barrel to convert a 300 to a 125. Pretty much the whole engine is different. Buy a raga 125 if this is what you want although personally I'd just buy a normal 125. The only really useful bit on the raga is the better rear shock and for most people its not worth the extra money.
  5. IMPORTANT! ALL "06 PRO OWNERS!! 24 Mar 2006 ALL "06 250/280/300 AND 125 Racing MODEL PRO CUSTOMERS WITH THE "SILVER OHLINS SHOCK" We have now had 7 x "06 ohlins shocks lose their damping. This is un-heard of with Ohlins but we have sussed the reason why; The 'service screw' on top of the shock is VERY close on some bikes to touching the frame. Because the topbush is rubber, under heavy use, the bush flexes and then the screw is damaged, then losing all the nitrogen. All "06 BIKES MUST BE CHECKED! Take off your airbox and you'll see the screw on top of the shock. If your screw has been touching then you need to; 1. Grind the frame away a little to give more clearance. 2. Phone myself 01298 766811 or JUDE 01298 766812 and we will send you a different rose bearing type top bush. You can either fit a new type bush yourself or contact your GG dealer where you bought your bike. THIS MUST BE DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE because to add to this problem we have NO ohlins shocks in stock to replace them if the shock fails and we cannot 're-gas' the shocks here. They have to go back to Ohlins.
  6. The phrase fit for purpose springs to mind for some strange reason
  7. Try to break your problems down. Make a list of things your not good at and then put them into order of importance. eg. Ballance Riding across a slope Closing your eyes - Yeah I do that one You'd be surprised how far I can ride with my eyes closed. Trouble is... Its not always in the right direction Now try to work on improving just the thing at the top of your list. If you go to one of the classes think about what you want to learn from the class and TELL THE TUTOR !!! Watch other people. It took me ages to work out the technigue for ballancing but once you have it, your away. But most importantly.... KEEP TRYING
  8. For that sort of money you should be looking for something a little newer. Perhaps a Gasgas TX or early TXT or Beta techno. If your lucky you can pick up even better bargains.
  9. By the kickstart. Bolt above spy-glass I think it holds 550ml of 5/30
  10. My brothers Montesa started doing that. It was the crankshaft seals on his.
  11. Its fairly common practice to remove some of the bolts from the clutch but not normally that way. Either... a) refit ALL bolts... more expense unless you have them or remove another bolt so that they are spaced equally.

    Fan Problems

a short circuit either in the thermostat or cables
  13. Probably is r2w but can't find one of those either
  14. Thanks I already had that one but I would very much like to get a 02 one. I know its going to be very similar but i'm a fussy old devil
  15. Does anyone have a 2002 TXT Pro owners manual in pdf format anywhere they could send on to me please? gasgas@hotmail.co.uk Thanks
  16. I've just bought myself a TXT Pro 02... It has Hebo bars fitted and the brace bar is loose (wobbles). Should it be? Both adjusters on the fork tops are stuck. I've removed the plastic tops and tried gently using a screwdriver to no avail. Is there are common problems with these. Will I need to strip them down to free them off?

  18. I've been thinking (yeah.. it doesn't happen often) about the TV series kickstart and how in an earlier post so many of you were keen to see it on TV again. Who actually organises the uk indoor round of the wtc? Who provides the equipment? If it were possible to organise something like kickstart again... what sort of level rider would it be targeted at? Should it be split into groups... aka.. pro, junior, women? How would it be organised? How was it organised? Did a club from each region take it on or what? Anyone know anyone who would be interested in taking this idea further?
  19. Neutral Sorry... Couldn't resist myself. Try 2nd for most stuff and 3rd where its very slippery and don't be scared to let some air out of those tyres when its slippery too. At the end of the day... whatever works for you but ballance and control is what its all about. (wish I had some )

    Jt250 Vs Jtx270

No look for a 125 max
  21. I have a JTX 270 and i'd like to replace the crankshaft seals. Can this be done with the engine still in the bike or is a complete strip down required?
  22. Good site and an excellent read. I always find it interesting to hear about local riders and their history. I wish a few others would do the same. There are some great stories out there. Let me know when you've got a permenant host and i'll add a link from the http://www.cambridgematchless.co.uk' target='_blank'>Cambridge Matchless website to yours. On the design front... The graphics for the menu are a little blocky
