I dont know what size it is but I would see if there is an imperial size just a little bigger and re-tap to suit. You can use a heli-coil but again this involves drilling. Is there no way of drilling a little to the side of the original hole and tapping that ?

Make sure you lacquer the tank on a Monday....then dont touch it for a week. I did mine, really nice job, then 2-3 days later spilled a bit of fuel whilst filling the tank and I now have scars running down the tank. Apparently the lacquer takes about a week to fully harden. I will have to try again......when I can be bothered !

Best advice is sit down and have a brew - everything's harder if you're frustrated !!! Have you tried back filling it - remove the res cap, fill a large syringe with brake fluid, connect syring to caliper bleed nipple (open) with piece of snuggly fitted tube (pref clear) and fill slowly until it reaches the required level. I've not tried this myself....never needed to, but believe it works a treat. Andy.

You're not safe to ride anything bigger on the road for two years as the bigger bikes are far too dangerous......unless you can afford to pay extra for the "direct access" and then it's completely safe ? You take your test on a bigger bike and you're good to go !!!!!
