    Front Wheel

Should be 2 pinch bolts on each side.(4 total)
  2. Tidy and functional is what you need when starting out, for the price you won't be too worried about wrecking it (I am sure you will). I had a 2010 250 that got nicked and just replaced it with an 04 there are some things I find easier to do on this than on the newer one. so a lot depends on personal preference. For the price you've not done bad but I agree the description was wrong. You can pay a lot more for worse, Hope you feel better for this, now get out with the rest of us and throw it at rocks LOL
  3. Yes you must mix 2 stroke oil with your fuel. Use a 5 litre plastic fuel can, fill with unleaded and add oil then give it a shake. Best to check but I think your model runs at 50:1 ratio that is 100ml oil in 5 litres petrol. Later models (Pro) can run a more lean 75:1 ratio is 67ml oil to 5 litres. Brake pads manufacturers; Galfer, Dunlopad (DP), EBC. are all good. I would take your old ones to the shop to be sure of the correct shape/size.
  4. I repaired a tyre with a Plug Patch but the rubber on the inside of the tyre is so thin its hard to prepare the surface without exposing the canvas and it leaked. You should get away with using an innertube and reinforce the tyre so the tube is not exposed through the gash. but to repair a punctured tube you would have take the tyre off the bead and we all know what a pleasure that is.
  5. Those tyre beaders are awesome they make tyre changing a pleasure, after messing with pushbike innertubes and ratchet straps. Mr Dabster is right new tyres straight from the shop will just pop on. Club together with your mates and buy one between you. Detergents have a high salt content especialy cheap ones to thicken them up but is mainly the Caustic that attacks alluminium. The hard Annodised surface is very resilient at first but once it gets through it will react much faster. I used Fairy to lube the Mousses on my enduro bike and it took nearly seven years before it was noticeable, frends who used cheap stuff had holes in their rims within one year. Note your rim must be perfectly clean, smooth, shiny and the tyre should slip on the bead nicely. keep your fingers out!!!!
  6. If you mean linkage bearings it's not difficult but a bit expensive. A kit from 'All Balls racing' is about £60 includes Bearings, Bushes, Shims and Seals.
  7. Plastic nut & bolts used for number plates work very well, some cable ties are tougher than the mudguard and can split the mudguard.
  8. I have cut and pasted this from the Gas Gas pro technical bulletin; Transmission oil: Recommend type: ATF DEXRON II Alternatives: NOTE: We have a few customers using the type "F" automatic transmission oil with good results. Dramatically reducing, and in one known case eliminating the clutch pack swelling. NOTE: Gas Gas Spain recommends only Dexron III automatic transmission oil at this time. Oil type warning: DO NOT USE #12378508 GM auto-trac II (blue) oil Never use synthetic oil in the transmission~clutch. The synthetic oils are “stickier” and this adhesion tendency, when applied to the areas between the clutch plates contribute to excessive clutch drag. Some brands of synthetic oil will chemically react when mixed with water, (from creeks, rain, or waterpump seal leakage). This reaction alters the pH factor of the oil. This acidic condition accelerates corrosion of steel engine parts, and loosens the bond of the clutch fiber plate material. Please do not second-guess this information. We have twelve years of experience with the Herbringer/Adige brand clutch plate materials, and we are in direct contact with the technical departments at Herbringer, Adige, and Gas Gas Spain.
  9. I've still got the manual for my 2010 bike that got stolen, there is a table with all the torque figures. You should be able to down load a copy from Trialspartsusa.
  10. What thickness of gasket to use under the barell There is a video on trialspartsusa.com how to measure up the 'Squish' Tthe spark plug gap (manual says 0.6mm but trialspartsusa.com says 0.9mm) I set mine to 0.7mm The tightening torque for the barell bolts Owners manual says; Cylinder stud bolt fasteners 25 N-m. and Cylinder head screws 11.5 -13 N-m. The volume of gear oil, manual says 550cc but this seems to be too much Yes it is too much, fill it half to two thirds in the sight window.
  11. I use Dexron III ATF oil in my Pro models (2004, 06 & 10) and not had any issues
  12. I hope you hav'nt just bought my stolen one!
  13. Stolen 7th March from stockport area; GAS GAS TXT Pro 250 year 2010 Frame No VTRTG2503L0100391 and HUSQVARNA TE250 Year 2004 (Yellow/Blue) Frame No ZCGH800AC4V000635 Any information please call Rick on 07525968468 or PM me
  14. It's prety normal. Neutral is almost impossible to find while the engine is running but is easier to get by hand. or if still rolling.
  15. I was there last Sat the stream was deeper and flowing faster than usual, Got my feet wet. Send me a PM when you're next playing!
  16. Its a bit of personal preference Cheapest way is try a different front sprockets 1 tooth more & 1 less then see what you like
  17. Chain length depends on what sprocket sizes you have, chains are available in all lengths If you are happy with the gearing you have now just count teeth and the links including the split link. many dealers just keep a stock of long chains because you can always shorten them its not worth buying a chain tool, just grind the ends off the rivets with an angle grinder only takes a minute.

    Gear Box Oil

This info has been cut n pasted from the tech bulletin on trialpartsusa; Transmission oil: Recommend type: ATF DEXRON II Alternatives: NOTE: We have a few customers using the type "F" automatic transmission oil with good results. Two Holes?

Very common fault after an off the silencer gets pushed inwards and does this, I always check mine after a crash. New ones will be available from GG UK but pricey about
  21. I can't get 400ml in mine but I'm not complaining! Definately fully synthetic 2 stroke oil. I am using normal Shell petrol and Putoline Trials oil at 65ml to 5 litres its about 77:1 never fouled a plug with this mix. ATF is not expensive but try a local auto spares shop something like 'Comma' is cheaper but the DextronIII spec is what to look for.
  22. Most people use ATF DextronIII oil, takes about 350ml or fill to halfway in the sight glass. I fill mine then run a few minutes and check it when settled. Forget the owners book it is full of mistakes! It says put 550ml in the gearbox (it wont go in!) and it also says petrol mix 50:1 when between 65:1 or 75:1 is what works well.
