I am using Castrol TQ-D (it is ATF Dextronlll) most car spares shops sell it.
-
Those settings are same as mine except for the 35 jet I have a 33 jet but my bike is a 250cc. I've not got the spec to confirm this for the 300, maybe another 300 owner could.
The float heights should obviously be the same as each other but if you set them toward the higher position (only by 1/2 a millimetre) this can also help your hot starting.
-
1 1/2 turns is not enough,
I'm sure your hot start trouble would be less when you set it to 3 1/2 as it will richen it up a bit.
I have known some people (like the previous owner of my last bike)to turn this screw in to lean it off because the plug keeps fouling. Then I find they are running 50:1 petroil because the book says so and in reality we know 70:1 or 80:1 works better.
-
You're right.
The flush screw is for the mixture its usually 3 to 3.1/2 turns out. the more turns out the richer the mixture!
The proud one is the tick over, turn this to suit!

Dextron III (Castrol TQ-D)
About 350cc if it was well drained.
Fill it up to between halfway and 3/4 up the sight window.
Run it for a few minutes, then let it settle and check with bike vertical it should still be halfway up!

I know the Fox, He has had a lifetime of spinning spanners and bet you he was not the one using Gay rubber gloves,
Glad to hear you got your problem sorted though!
-
I use Castrol TTS (Fully Synthetic) 70:1. runs sweet,

Regulation TSR33 Offensive Behaviour,
'Any rider reported to the CofC for arguing or being offensive to an Observer, or other offical, renders that rider liable to disiplinary action.'
-
This seems to be a good fix.
5 weeks later, it looks just the same as when I put it on and no oil leaks
-
Might be worth you having a look at Enduro/Mx grips, there seems to be more choice,
ProGrip do some called 'PillowTop' they're very soft and feel bigger in diameter, I had a pair on my enduro bike and no blisters.
-
Been using Apico 3 finger for ages and not managed to break one yet, I keep trying to.
I put a couple of wraps of PTFE tape round the handlebars under the lever clamps so they rotate during a crash.
Forged levers are very tough and cast levers are brittle.
-
Mine was fitted with a guide loop attached to the lower fork clamp,
One of the pinch bolts is longer and has a spacer behind it to keep it away from the fork.
-
It worked for me at 12.45pm
-
I did the same as you, Filed it and fitted it as close as poss,
At the time my enquiries came up with nothing, there is only one lever for the Pro model.
As long as you have got the lever tight on the spline it will be fine.

My mate aquired a nice 07 pro for a good price off the pistonheads site.
after looking at so many paggered older bikes it was worth paying a couple of hundred more for one that needed nothing doing to it!
Dont get me wrong there may be a something like an 04 thats had loads spent on but will likely sell word of mouth.
My old bike sold the same day on Macctrials website.
Try asking around some clubs or go to a trial.
good luck.

I got some strange looks from the shop assistants, it made me think I should have asked a Goth to go out with so I could borrow some to see if it worked,
-
Hi JSE,
The the damage was/still is on the travel area, I have lightly smoothed off the ragged edges so it is max diameter and then filled the sratches with Black nail varnish, It matches very well and I have no leaks.
The varnish was

I have recently had a quote from 'Bodycote' for retreating this type of fork tube,
-
The magnet is only needed if you intend having a speedo,
If you don't indend having one then no need to replace it.
-
Asuming you have a 'Domino' make throtle
There are two colours of the throttle tube,
'White is the Fast'
'Back is the slow'
All the parts are interchangable you can just swap the tube.
-
Hi Gordeee,
Yes you're correct ml's are exactly the same as cc.
I just about managed to get a 3rd oil change from a 1ltr bottle, so you mustn't spill any!
-
I put in 340cc and then run it and let it settle,
Check the level in the window it should be half way. Might need to add a spot more but shouldn't need more than 350cc in total
-
I have scraped the black coating on my Alloy fork tube
Has anyone had their's repaired or recoated and if so where and how much?
Any help apreciated.

Hi Pat Slinn,
I have got a rear 4.00x18 Dunlop K950 tubed type, it looks like the owd trials universal and it's in top condition with sharp edges all over,
If you'd like it you can have it I am just up the road from you in HazelGrove.
Send me a PM for details.

Pump it up hard to about 50psi for a few days or a week and then when you're next out ride it soft to get it warmed through and it should recover, At least try it and see, it's cheaper than a new tyre.
Best keep the bike on a stand during long periods of storage.
Or better still 'get out more'
