  1. You Need StuartC, He runs Autotowbars so if there is one He should be able to find it! The one on ebay looks like it would take the Dave Cooper easier enough .
  2. The one following Chris on the Sherco. All I have to do now is remind him what Jim taught him! Did you get that last section on the Mini-trial?
  3. Got Some glue that is sold as "Sealpatch" from Wilkinson's. DOes the trick on the Sherco.
  4. They are on The Yeadon Guiseley Website and have been Just sent to Andy for the front Page. http://www.yeadon-guiseleytrials.co.uk/
  5. Don't think anybody took a camera, I was going to but forgot! Saw Chris(Jim's Helper) next day at the Horsforth Novice and Beginners. He retired becuase of cramp in his arms. Reckoned it was putting the flags in and pulling them out.
  6. Would that be on Saturday then?
  7. There are Three ways up to the Site signposted from the main roads around. The easiest is from the Roundabout on the Addingham By-pass. Turn towards Silsden then take the immediate left up the Hill. At the top of the hill is a cross-roads. Turn Right(Warning the sign post to Addingham Moorside points straight on). Go down the road and take the Next left. The road winds up towards the venue and is single track so take care. The entrance is a double gate on the left. It's the first one you come across, usually a few riders around on a Weekend just don't forget to shut the gate as the sheep roam around.
  8. Last I heard its still ok to use. Costs
  9. "He" Don't ride at Post Hill at t' moment. I know where it all goes. Like I said I'm a volunteer. I don't go in for self-publicity weere it ain't justified.
  10. If the rides paid for its paid for. I note that isn't the first time that a trial has been mislabeled. I didn't note it, a number of the clubs riders did though.
  11. I am one of the volunteers and don't ride myself! However looking at this weekends trial perhaps advertising it as a Club trial in TMX, Restricted on the Website and Centre in the results doesn't help much does it!
  12. My Apologies Andy I'll be more careful next time. As for the weather? All the riders I spoke to did say that the venue would ride the way it did "at this time of year". Another quote was that the venue was a "Great venue when its dry". As for Hawkstone I think you'll find that they are not organising the trial merely supplying officials.......
  13. Does not seem that they like bad publicity as I cannot leave any remarks on the News page. Won't be attending as they made such a mess of the Kinsey Trial. If James Lampkin cannot get up a section what chance does a "B" class? Perhaps the organisers of the Hawkstone trial should have asked a more "professional club" than Bradford. I notice that their amendment to the Yorkshire Centre rules was SO popular nobody would even second it (even their own club). Left another clubs official out on a limb with no support. Get co operation with the clubs in centre and they may stop "cheesing" them off!
  14. Lookin at the Press report(as most of you should have by now) it looks as though Scorpa(France) have ambitions they cannot hope the Crosswaites to forfill. If as stated by Scorpa(UK) they want them to buy 3 times the number of bikes off them for 2006 as they sold in 2004 then they need to get a higher profile in the World and European Championships. They obviously have started this, but to expect an independant importer to risk that amount of money "up front" is madness. There is potential and I have no doubt if the forthcoming 4 stroke is as good as expected then it COULD happen. I also think losing the services of Martin Crosswaite, who has compromised his riding by choosing to use the SY125 and the development expertise therein is a mistake. Hindsight is great but under the same deal I think most importers will struggle. None the less I wish both Scorpa and the Crosswaite's(who I know personally) only the best.
  15. Every Trial My Son has entered this Year has had a very good entry so far. He rides in the Yorkshire Centre and The number of riders is well up on this time last year. Only explanation I can think of is a combination of riders coming back to the sport after the F&M crisis and a lack of off-road facilities due to NIMBY's meaning that riders are desperate for a place to ride. How's every body else doing???

    New Tmx

Oh Dear! Can't decide if they have bought a new system and haven't worked out how to use it yet or They have made it bigger for the older readers!
  17. Anybody got the full results yet? Seen that TMX got the top results but have still to recieve the full list.
  18. Suggest anybody here has queries about this heads over to Www.pistonheads.co.uk. The Speed plod and the law has a few BIB's to clarify matters. However Much as the Car-drived Van speed limits apply any van with windows aft of the B pillar is classified as a CAR. (The Escort vans with that little window behind the door qualify). And as such the limits for cars apply. Hence those Vitos with seats and windows behind the driver are considered cars, not car drived Vans. Daft really isn't it.
  19. Direct from the ACU Handbook. A class Riders born between 01/01/88 and 31/12/89 can ride 250 cc until 31/12/06 B class Riders born between 01/01/90 and 31/12/92 Cannot ride 250cc with an exception that states they can ride the bikes without scoring points. If you fit either of those then the 290 is out really.
  20. My Son just moved theough to "B" class on his Sherco. The courses are the same as last year he's just up againest older riders this year. The bikes spent a long time being the cinderella class with no development at all. This Year The Sherco has seen a raft of improvements and this years Beta is a definate improvement in power and "rideability" on last years machine. The Gas Gas hasn't seen as many improvements but was the 125 to have in nationals so perhaps only neede "tweaking". The Bike manufacturers will now have to push the 125's a lot more so I'd watch these bikes with interest.
  21. Got the CD version on feb 10th still waiting for the Book. (One for Me one for My lad).
  22. I'm with Stuart on this one, grow up and smell the petrol! the amount of fumes is minimal. Modern engines tend to burn the stuff that would do you harm and you probably do more harm by pouring the petrol/oil mix anyway. The aromatics you smell is more harmful. The only smoke comes from the oil which is synthetic anyway! Hence no harm done again. Always amuses when a guy puffing away on a rollup complains.
  23. I'd agree the "D" class course at Eboracum is pretty easy. Richmond do have an "easy" TY80 course as well. I'd say its tough for the organisers to pitch the level of difficulty but most get it right most of the time. They also do feel the need to put in a challenge here and there which will sort out the results. Also its good to take the Begineers to some of the venues used for Club and national trials so that they can see what they are up againest! Having said that and having Observed for Bradford and Yeadon at these trials some riders are never going to progress and others will never want to progress and the clubs are quite rightly not going to force them. They are there for a good time on a saturday or sunday and don't won't the pressure! Others after being away a while are coming back to gauge how good they are, or to introduce their kids to the sport, (Steve Lampkin comes to mind). They then move on or drop out again as their kids get better. Just try out as many as are in your area. You'll get to know which are best for you. Oh and if you are a friend/dad/relative going along to watch and your friend/son/daughter will let you, do as I do and help the club out by being an Observer.
  24. For those looking for Beginners series in the Yorkshire area a number of clubs run them. Yeadon Guiseleys Beginners Trials this year start on 5th March At Dob Park Just outside Otley. Bradford's Beginners series has had two already this year(they start in November) Just watch out for "Autotowbars" on the regs. Horsforth Run their Beginners at Tong between Leeds and Bradford. Spen Valley also run a beginners series of trials as well as the previously mentioned Hudderfield Falcons. For those with Kids on TY80's and REV50 and just starting "C" class, "Conducted trials" are held by Yeadon Guiseley (at every trial excepting The Chris Carter, Mel Harrison Sidecar, The reunion trial(over 30's only but not a differcult course)and The MacKenzie National). Ripon Also have conducted trials on the same day as their evening trials and have a "easy" and "hard" course for the Kids at an earlier time, (usually 3 to 3.30). Bradford's Beginners are also good to get them used to a standard trials format and most of the sections can be done by a TY80/REV.
  25. Anybody use one? I know they take Gas Gas 70's but do they take 125's etc?
