Hi guys, can anyone identify this TY seat ? Is it 250 or 175 ? I got it with a 1978 TY. I`ve tried it with the brackets fitted but it seems too small for the frame.

Hi, just bought TY 250 and the castle nut on the rear wheel spindle is tightened up way past the holes for the split pin, is there a spacer between the wheel bearing dust cover and the swing arm on the sprocket side? Cheers Andy

So I have been told to shave down the ty175 flywheel weight. Then i have been told to remove it. Then told to not touch it. So what has been done out there? Removal Shaved or left alone? --Biff

Sorry if its been mentioned before. I have modified some yokes in the past to move the handle bars forward but I have just fitted some nice TY250 forks and Yokes to my 175. I didn't want to cut up the yokes like I did before so I thought I would try some Rox Risers. I like the extra height and adjustment that they give you. Just thought I would give it a mention for those people seeking some extra bar height

Hi everyone. The 2 exhaust studs on my TY175 have been butchered by the previous owner so it looks like I am going to have to helicoil them. I just thought I would check on here to see if anybody else has done them and if there is anything I should watch out for.Thanks.

My ty175 is currently on .25 oversize. I would like a recommendation for someone to re-bore to next size and perhaps cost-dependent do a mild port tune

I have just bought this and its got a list of illnesses , the main and really only one left, is a worn carb. I would like to replace the original TK for the equivlent Mikuni. After making some enquires it appears the dark arts of carburation are in force when it comes to this particular Yamaha. Would any kind person help me in pointing at the carb I might need, along with the relevent jet / needle sizes so I at least try and get it to run halfway right. I would love it to be a bolt on straight of the box , is this really too much to ask.. Thanks in advance

I'm finishing my restoration on my 250 and noticed that there is no plastic guide or wear block on top of the swing arm like there are in the later models. Anyone come up with an alternate solution to prevent the chain from hitting the top of the swing arm?

I'm restoring a '74 250 and when I disassembled it I noticed that the rear mud guard is completely worn through on the left side from the tire rubbing it through the years. I've tried to get it centered better than the original holes will allow but the tire still rubs. Anyone one experience this and if so what did you do? I've seen used mud guards on eBay and some of them have the same wear as mine. I'm interested in any suggestions or solutions will be appreciated. I have no problem modifying if necessary. Thanks in advance.
