  1. I want to get a 350 mono engine, but where can I find one in the UK? I don't want to buy a modern bike, because they are rubbish, and I know the 250 is normally considered smoother and easier to ride, I've just wanted a 350 for years. I've got the info for Ellastone offroad and I'll give them a ring sometime, but is there anywhere else to considor?

  5. TY250 Mono Normally starts 1st or 2nd kick, been stood for a few weeks. Started no problem on Tuesday, came to start yesterday - no joy. Checked good spark and fuel getting through. Ive had the carb off and blown through with an airline - no gunge in float bowl. Only thing I can think of is that the fuel has gone off. If I dip the plug in some fuel drained from tank and light with a cig lighter it burns. If I remove wet plug from bike it will not burn??? Can anyone help please - its doing my head in. Thanks in advance

I have had to prepare my 250 Majesty, which has not been trialed seriously for 10 years, for a mate to ride in the twin shock Inter Centre Team trial. All is running ok but the footrests seem very short. Does anyone know of any more modern longer footrests that might fit, it is a standard Godden frame. Thanks.

Could anyone tell me anything about 'Ihara'parts that were available for the mono's.My barrel is stamped 'BS-IHARA' and I suspect the reed manifold has been shortened. http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn171/d...eedmanifold.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn171/d...iharabarrel.jpg

Just done my first trial with the electronic ignition fitted along with a mate of mine who also fitted one at the same time.First and most important thing for me was the fact it was a hot day today and thats when my bike would always cut out,and it didnt.Going around the sections I found there was always enough response from the engine at any point to give me the required amount of power,so I was very pleased with the result. I had a quick go on my mates bike and that was so much better than how it had been, I would say he is very pleased with it.So to sum it up I would say if your looking for a little more response from the engine and its been playing up,like mine was,th…

I have got to prepare my 250 majesty for a friend to ride in a trial, I have not used it seriously for about 10 years. I cannot remember the oil volume or viscosity/type for the gearbox/clutch or the forks. Please can anyone help, with regard to the forks they are standard Yamaha and if you give an answer I would be interested in the weight of rider. Thanks

Dear All, I am now the proud owner of what I am told is a Yamaha Whitehawk TY175 and as all newcomers to a sport have some questions. First is how do I know it is a Whitehawk, the seat/tank unit has a W embossed on the left side but how do I check/date the frame? The top tube is square and has some markings which read 83 YW SOxx xxx does this mean a 1983 Yamaha Whitehawk with what looks like a Southampton post code? The 1983 ties in with the engine number also being 1983. The first thing it needs is an air filter, where do I buy this and other spares from but the most important thing is where can I ride it? I want to spend as little as possible money on this but a meeting…

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble trying to date my ty 250 mono. Engine and frame numbers match and start with 53Y. I've noticed on all the pics I've seen of ty 250 monos that they have a long 'rubber' tube leading from the carby to the airbox (plastic?). Mine has a short tube leading to a fibreglass airbox. Any ideas and feedback would be appreciated. Peter.

I have an oil leak from the gear selector shaft, is this easily fixed? Is it just a case of pulling out an oil seal and replacing, or will the gearbox need to be stripped. Any advice appreciated, many thanks in advance.

Help, every time I think I could have fixed my ty175 I then do a trial on a warm day, like today, and it starts to cut out,no spark. As far as I know I have checked or replaced every thing that could go wrong so now it looks like I will purchase an electronic ignition. So the question is should I go for the one sold by Trail and Trial or the one on the Majesty trials site, looking at them they dont look the same and from the spec they give different advance curves.Anyone got any advice? please.
