  2. Started by ants,

I have just bought one of these fine machines and was wondering if the good Folk on this Forum would have any info to help in keeping it in Trialable condition? Specifically parts availability and manuals / handbooks (Photocopies or purchase) would be apreciated. Any advice on setting up and fuel oil mix ratio - basically anything! Don,t seem as common as the aircooled TY but looks a very well built bit of kit Looking to start competing this Spring (once the mud is out the way) in the North East Thanks in advance

  3. Hi Guys. Just found this frame kit on a french site. Thought some of you might be intrested. The price in France is 2350-00 Euros. To take a look go to www.francetrialclassic.com. Regards Charlie.

I have just obtained a very good TY175 clutch and primary drive pinion, the clutch has what looks to be a letter B engraved on the end of one of the drive teeth but I can't see anything on the drive pinion to say it matches, letter B,they could do but is there a way of checking the required amount of clearance when fitted and how much should it be?also when I rebuilt the engine some time ago I noticed that the drive pinion only covers just over half way over the teeth on the clutch basket,is this normal? Regards Andy.

Hi guys and gals. I have noticed that my recently acquired TY250 Pinky has 2 pipe nipples on the top which have currently got no pipes on them. There is what I assume to be a bleed/overflow pipe coming directly out of the bottom of the carb, but the others are pointing vertically and near to vertically on either side of the float. Should they have breather pipes on them? I am pretty sure they should have, because at the moment, crap can get down the open holes into the carb. If so, where to? Any ideas? Nick

  7. Started by nick collier,

Hello fellow feet-up fans. I am in the throes of tidying up my TY250 Pinky and want to get rid of the wiring. I am never gonna use it for road use, so want to remove any unnecessary bits. Can anyone tell me where to get and where to connect a kill switch? I'm sure the "where to get" question is easy, but i have read good and bad articles about different manufacturers switches being of "dubious" quality. I have no idea about bike electrics, so am lost as to which bits are needed and which are not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ta.

I am trying to find a rear tyre for my sons big wheel ty80, it must be a proper block tread trials tyre . the tyre appears to be a 3.00 x 18 or 3.50 x 18, If someone knows the original tyre fitment even better Thanks.

  9. Started by the colonel,

Hi, I've just bought my son a TY80. The clutch is pretty heavy, I can work it fine with adult hands but his younger fingers aren't strong enough to cope! I've seen in some sellers adverts for these bikes that clutch modifications have been made to make the clutch much lighter. Any one out there able to telle me these mods are or how to make the clutch lighter to use in anyway? Thanks for any help.

  12. Started by yam 22,

I've just bought a TY80 and want to renew the gearbox oil but am unsure how to fill it to the correct level. The Haynes manual says to check the dip stick attached to the underside of oil filler cap but my cap has no dip stick (my TY80 parts catalogue also doesn't show a dip stick on the oil filler cap). Please could anyone advise?

Hey everyone! I've been riding my dad's old 78 ty 175 up at the annual "bike weekends" at the cottage when my family and friends go up to do some hard riding.. (there are probably 20 people that go, family and friends.. being 18, they figure I'm old enough to ride with them) Now I didn't keep the bike to it's original silver colour all over, I wanted to paint some accessories gloss black to make them stand out and make it unique to my likings.. so don't flame be about not keeping it original I plan on owning this bike forever haha Anyways, it took about 2 months for me to finish, and my friend took pics of my progess the entire time.. there are over 100 mb of high qu…

Does anyone have the alloy bracket used to mount the calliper for the Shirt front disk conversion as used on a TY250 mono? I have just picked up a conversion set from a TY in which the mounting bracket has broken, I may be able to make something up but it would save a lot of hastle if I could get a replacement bracket. I intend to fit the brake to a TLR250 Golner Honda, supposedly they are a direct fit. Gordon

I have a 1985 TY 350 that needs rings and a piston ( maybe a cylinder too). Any tips, other than parting it out would be appreciated. I realize that yamaha no longer supports this bike. I'm just wondering what other creative individuals have done to keep them running. Thanks ken
