Does anyone know where I can find a used yellow side cover for a 74 TY 250? Or maybe someone who sells a reproduction?

Hi All I have two Cota 123's and a Cota 172 which will form the basis of two finished bikes. One 123 and the 172 frame have broken at the front downtube at some stage (and been badly repaired). Were the frames known to be weak and if so, does anyone know a strengthening fix for them? Thanks in advance David

I'm tring to find out if there are any good twinshock trials in the region on either the 5th or 12th July (it's my holiday also!!!). Any recomendations on campsite would be helpful also, good or bad. Thanks

On a Amal Carb if you start the bike and it run for about 1min on tick over and it then stops, what would be the problem? If i tickle it again it will start, it's as if the fuel reservoir is emptying, is the float jamming or is there a hole blocked somewhere

I have just been lucky enough to get a very tidy KT250-A2 in my possession. It is missing a seat and its sidecovers though. Thanks to David (Feetupfun) I will shortly have seat on its way, but I am still missing sidecovers. I tried Fred and Deb's KT page, but he is out of sidecovers for a few months. Does anyone else have any leads on where to get a set of sidecovers for my bike. I am not fussed if they are the wrong colour or not painted at all, as I have someone local who can paint them for me. Cheers, Ben

Hi guys so far I used a lot of momentum and a CRF250 now I got myself a TLR200 Reflex '87 everything works not great, more redneck-mint, but the bike is ridable the engine seems healty, starts at 1st kick and puills strong but the stoppers sorry, I am used to some 'negative acceleration' when I pull the lever here I hear a 'clunk' but there is no real slowing down the rear end does not work much better I had both ends apart, the brake shoes looked to be in good condition, so I roughened the surface a little, cleaned the drums, lubed the pin, adjusted the cable/rod but did not achieve much improvement is there a trick to turn drum brakes into actual stoppers …

hi My Sherpa is fitted with an RL stator plate and flywheel (not sure what coil / ignition is though) I find that the bike is playing up when hot (similar to when timing is out or when starving for fuel) the bike runs fine for about 15 - 20 minutes. Bike starts first kick always, hot or cold. Could this be a fault in the cdi system? thanks

Sag height %.. unloaded & loaded "with rider weight" The rear shocks are stuffed , So they will be replaced I'm only going to use it in the clubmans class so am looking at a set of Betor shocks , prise is not to over the top.. As I live in NZ I have to take into account exchange rate & shiping cost.. when those are added on cheaps not cheap any more.. Thanks Pete

Look i've got to tell somebody. Got bored in the shed to day waiting for bits to be machined to finish the B40 off. Cant bring myself to start stripping the Ossa Gripper (see other post) so finally got round to trying to start the Cota 349 i rebuilt last year. Dont know why but been putting off trying to get it to start after i rebuilt the engine. I suppose till you start it "done a great job, star mechanic!" then you try and either 1. it wont start or 2. starts makes a really nasty noise and stops abruptly. Well no excuses found some petrol in a can, smells alright (funny feel a lot happier now?) add a bit extra oil just in case. Thats good no petrol leaks. Kick, Kick,…
