Thanks. Mort.

  3. Started by subira,

OK so it ain't bike trials, but kind of links, trials riders on push bikes. Just been reading January's MBUK and you get to find out what Jonny Starmer and Jason Bayliss have been up to - DH (under the wind of my neighbour Mr Warner) . And doing pretty well it seems. Woody Hole has done pretty wel in the past and I here that Steve Peat's not bad on a trials bike. Looks like trials skills cross over well to DH. Always fancied a blast myself, done a few XC and CycloX races and done ok, just wondered what the DH race set up is like. Anyone had a go ?

Not caught up with them for a while as they're doing a fair bit of travelling......and they live so far away (80 yards) The Olivers made a trip over to the UCI World Youth Games recently: Sam returned from Nortorf (Northern Germany) With a World ranking of 3rd in the UCI Cadet category of Biketrial at the World Youth Games. He's been top of the British rankings for a few years, but this is a trip on to the world scene. He finished in a very creditable 3rd place despite a puncture in a section which scuppered him a little. they don't bounce too well on the rim. With teams from around the world and very strong teams from France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain not forget…

Some of you will know Sam and Tom Oliver. Ex Motorcycle Trials Riders (well still ride now and then) - converted to bike trials fairly recently, and been training hard, including the odd excursion with Ot Pi. The work showed today at round 1 of the British Champs: Sam came 1st in his age group (12-13) by a fairly large margin, losing 5 marks, the next being around the 40 mark. Tom came 2nd in the 10 year olds. Not a bad result at all - keep it up lads

At Back Cown quarry this weekend, the inventor of bike trials OT PI is putting a few lucky youngster's through there paces. For those who say who the hell is that he is 12 times world champ, take a look at this video. http://www.eengoedidee.nl/videoz/index.cgi...rch=bike-trials

  13. Started by fordson major,

I've had a 26" trials push bike for 2 years and I have a muck about on it about twice a week. It seemed to be more suitable to buy a 26" bike than a 20" 'cos I'm 6ft2 but I had a go on a 20" mission bike last weekend and it seemed easier to hop about than my bike. So... what I'm asking is which is better for me to practise on for motorcycle trials? Also ,it seems a daft question but.. are the 26" bikes more prone to pinch-flats (when the tube is pinched against the rim 'cos of low tyre pressure) than 20" bikes? Suppose it maybee depends on the make of the tyre and sidewall strength Cheers in advance for any replies Rob

http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5319 As I posted on the riders helping riders forum. How do ya do rear wheel hops on the moto. I can hop all day on the bici, but the Motorcycle is real tuff! The shock just sucks all the energy out of the motion. I'm sure you bike/moto people should have some tips. sam

I have been thinking about bike trials for some time now and was wondering what you guys thought about converting a 24" BMXer. I would think a crank and bars would be a start, but I just wanted to know what yer thoughts were. Thanks....
