Hello friends, as you probably gathered by now i don't know much, so forgive me for asking if this is a stupid question! can i remove the carbon air canister thing that sits in front of the airbox? i fell off quite spectacularly recently (my specialty) and the bike ended up totally upside down. next thing i know ive got oil dripping out the airbox and the air filter is dripping in oil...i drained the tube that comes out the bottom of the crankcase and it was indeed full. im guessing its from the engine via that carbon canister unit? my understanding is that was put there for EPA emissions in the US? i dont think the UK TLRs have it do they? if i remove it i'm as…

Hi friends, sorry to be a nuisance again but i was hoping to garner some info to help me along...i have tried to do my due diligence to research but the web is so full of thoughts/opinions trying to access the pertinent (correct) info can be challenging. Rather than try and go for what someone said in on page 9 of a 37 page thread from 2007 i shall just try and start again! (i am a Noob) Q/ i know the reflex's that came stateside were set to run lean and have a #38 pilot jet. i obtained a #40 from what i thought was a 'reliable on line source' only to find out it def looks the wrong one (Part # 99124-076-0400). Rather than 'shove in in' and mess everything up and …

My TL250 can be finicky when starting hot, like 90 degrees and low humidity. Are there any tricks or methods that may help? With near full choke and maybe 1/3 throttle it starts very easy cold.

Some questions for the mechanical meastros! Please forgive me if answers are posted already. My fingers have been walking down google lane all morning but still not sure. So, despite my best intentions to enjoy the bike 'for what it is' - (a poor US hillbilly cousin of kinda decent Euro bike) my desire to practice all the trials stuff i grew up with in the UK overrides my desire to 'trail ride or green laning' which i thought would take priority. The predicted choir that shall be singing "dump the reflex and buy a proper trials bike" please remember the ONLY reason for getting this bike is it's fully street legal and i have to ride past a cop shop to my secr…

Hello friends, could someone recommend (if there is one?) a replacement gear shifter that goes directly on the shaft and does away with convoluted linkage. Looking for one with the offset clearance etc.. Thanks so much in advance! johnny

Ok folks, the timing marks on the flywheel ... 'f' mark lines up at tickover and as revs rise the timing light shows advance which keeps moving untill the 'II' marks and then goes no further. Is this as it should be, the Clymer manual for 200 hondas is a bit vague, saying advance STARTS at the 'II' marks, which sounds all wrong to me. Cheers.

I'm looking at my TLR200 Reflex into a competition bike and wondered if anyone could give me some help on good people/company's that you've used. Ive sorted frame and tank unit but I'm looking for someone to rebuild the engine to competition standard as well as new rims, new front and rear suspension and new yokes. Also looking for a new exhaust system and a decent set of handlebars. Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a 520-96 replacement chain for my 1986 Honda TLR200, and when it came, it is larger than stock chain, but everything I read says it should be 520-96 chain? Was stock chain a smaller chain non-O-ring chain? I also purchased new front & rear sprockets, and old chain seems to fit new sprockets, but 520-96 does not? Thanks in advance Mike

First, totally new to this websight. In turn, my question has probably already been answered. Specifically, what USA dealers keep Cota 300 parts in stock (Honda OEM replacement, not aftermarket)? My local Honda dealer didn't even know Honda sold trials bikes. Thanks in advance!

Hello everybody, I hope for help here. I restored a TLM 200 2-stroke, replaced the missing carburetor with a Keihin PE24 from China (main jet 112, secondary jet 38, needle 2nd position from the top), spark plug NGK B6. I can't get it to run properly, with choke it revs way too high, without choke way too low and dies out. When trying to turn the idle gas higher, the engine suddenly ran at full speed and could not be stopped even by pulling off the spark plug connector... only after turning off the petrol and closing the exhaust pipe did the engine finally stop. Does anyone here know the original carburetor setup? Thanks in advance and greetings from Aachen, Germany…

Anyone know of rebuild kit for 1986 TLR200 rear shocks, or would it be better to to invest new set of rear shocks? Thinking about riding in vintage trials and obviously also doing front shocks also.

Hello from Kampot, Cambodia. I've ended up with a 90 or 91 TLM260. My curiosity is about chassis parts, other than engine parts. I have no access to a parts manual (would like to get a copy) for this bike, but am curious if it has the same parts as the RTLs or other Hondas. I want to replace wheel bearings, swing arm bearings, fork seals and bushings, brake master and slave cylinder seals, etc. to make the bike serviceable for practice. I plan to strip it down, relocate the pegs back to the stock location, but not yet attempt to restore it to the beauty it once was. The engine is in good mechanical shape which is quite a relief as I understand it is the engine parts that …

Hi Everyone, I have a TL125S lovingly restored. It has been running on battery ignition with the original points as I converted it to battery with all lights to commute to work. We had issues with the magneto style original ignition at the time of build and just went with the battery ignition option temporarily. I recently got a new ignition coil and plastic side panels to complete the restoration and after fitting the coil/condensor I found I still have ignition dramas. The bike is very easy to start, has enough spark to hurt my foot when the timing was set a little aggressive, but as soon as you load it up it miss fires, completely looses spark and back fires through …

I know very little about the history of the Honda RS range and would be very interested to know more. Does anyone out there know how many different models were produced and what volume production runs were done? Were they all built for the Japanese home market or for some other purpose? Is there a RS register or club?

Honda TL 125 Q1. Has anyone replaced the points ignition on a Honda TL125 to an electronic ignition system? Q2. Has anyone used a Pitbike ignition to convert points ignition to an electronic ignition system on any other make or model? Thanks
