...it was an experience On the way to the first section I though "this must be what miserable days at the Scottish are like". By the time I got to the first section I couldn't feel any of the fingers of my throttle hand..(still, they'd thawed out by the 2nd section), and I was thinking of perhaps only doing the first loop...I was also wondering how we'd get up some of the hills (as this course route is same as some of Dave Rowland Trial), and indeed home back along that track in the car+trailer if the snow got really heavy. The decision was made guilt-free for me by the organisers (wisely)cancelling the event after the first loop of 8 (or was it 9?) sections I have to …

The regs are now out for the 2010 Jack Wood Trial on 28 March. Last year riders were asking where they could find regs through a thread, even though they were in the calendar, and so this year we are trying to ensure this is covered off. Maybe breaking some forum by-law in the process but all publicity is good publicity after all!! The regs and entry from are in the TC calendar, the Hillsborough club website soon and have been posted to last years riders who supplied an envelope. This year the club has been fortunate enough to secure sponsorship from Manhattan Motorcycles of Sheffield and we have used this as prize money. www.manhattan-motorcycles.co.uk To encourag…

Morning everyone, Well, yet another Manx 2 Day has passed and we would love to hear from you. Good and bad experiences are very welcome as we continue to try and improve the event year on year. This year we had the Golden Jubilee of the Sidecar class in the trial and that was a great success. The solo's were equally as successful with yet another new name to add to the winners list of the National class. Well done to Robin and Sam Luscombe for taking the sidecar win and local boy, Josh Brain for the National solo win. If you would like to pass on your thoughts on this years trial, please email us on manx2daytrial@hotmail.com There is always this topic for you all to di…

Regs are now out for the annual Sheffield & Hallamshire MC Merle Morewood Peak trial on the much earlier date this year of Sunday 30th September. The trial is the final round of the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British sidecar trials championship and will also run separate routes for solo clubmen and experts. The trial is starting from the usual base of the Lafarge cement works car park in Hope, Derbyshire. This year the trial is a completely different format running 2 laps of 20 sections due to the loss of the Backtor group which normally provides a sting in the tail for most of the entry. Good news is though that the club have found a completely new piece of land as a re…

Allan Jefferies Trophy Trial 30th July 2017 This prestigious event is typically well supported, but this year, in common with some other events, the number of entries received, at least to date, is unusually low and unless there is a late influx of entries, there is a risk that the organisers may be forced to cancel. There is still time to enter and the club are particularly keen to have more serious trials riders entering to compete over the Principal Allan Jefferies Course. However, if this doesn’t suit, there will also be an easier Clubman’s Course. Supplementary Regulations with Entry Form are available online from various sources, including the ACU’…
