Me and a couple of mates are riding the Gerald Simpson Trial this week. We are making the long trip from daaaarnnn saaaaartthh, we have even got a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> booked so we can have a bit of hero talk in the pub the night before. Looking forward to a good road event. Has anyone on here ridden it recently? Whats it like? Are any of you riding this year? Hopefully see you there. I'll be the one with a Union Jack on my lid, in a heap on the floor with the bike on top of me mumbling something along the lines of "i hate ******* rocks"

The entry list is out for the Union Jack Classic trial run by the Stratford-Upon-Avon Club on Sunday. Scottish Classic winner Neil Gaunt is a hot favourite but he will have stiff opposition from a field of very experienced competitors including, Mick Ash, Jon Bliss, Peter Salt, Steve Clarke, Nic Draper, Martyn Goodall and a numer of others. Also look out for some good trail bike riders who might just take the win, Honda mounted Keith Wells and Dave Eeles always go well in this event. The route takes in some excellent trials riding terrain and covers 35 miles and 35 sections. A bumper entry of 102 riders will start two per minute at 9.30 from Downs farm near Bourton-on…

Just to let you all know that this years IOW two day trial on May 6/7 is filling up fast. Over 60 entered already with about 3 weeks left to enter, as its limited to 150 i'd get in soon or you may miss out. Trial will be organised by same team as did last years youth nationals, and this years ladies round so you know it will be good, some well known youth riders have already entered.

Ok so anybody (else) here go and what did you think? My thoughts were that only one of the sections (Two on the hard course), caused a problem although the bow waves coming out of section 5 were impressive!!!. As a guide there is more land available further up the hill but it needs a bit of clearing.

For my sins, I have written up a report, so here you go. My Pampera had its first MOT on Saturday, and I removed the race numbers from the last time I had used it (Surrey Pol in October). Loaded the van on Saturday, and then went out to dinner with a crowd from the N. Kent TRF, and some others who had come down from the Midlands to do the event. Saturday night it rained. Sunday morning when I got up it was raining, and so I thought about unloading the van and going back to bed. Un-enthusiastically, I drove to Maidstone, scrutineered, signed on, and got a cup of coffee. At least the sun was now shining, but I still wasn
