What a good job the Kings Norton Club did today staging the latest round of the Midland Centre Championship. Experts and Inters rode the A route with Clubmen and Over 40's on the B route. 38 sections on the road with every one fully observed. Talking in the car park after the event, it looks as if Mark Hicken took top spot with just one mark lost. John Cowley was also riding well but had a five aparently. On the B route, Clive Charleton was riding well loosing six marks with Mick Chapman not far behind on nine. Phil Ducker was also going well until the last section of the day when he notched up a failure to put him on 13. Phil was not the only B route rider to suc…

Really big thank you to the Man 17 Trials Club and everyone involved today for such a great day. Brilliant trial, probably the best i have done in a long while and very well laid out throughout. Our lot did the Clubman route which was perfect for us all, testing in places but not dangerous at all and did nt feel B*****ksed at the end either. Really wish we lived a little closer to the Peak District as we have done quite a few trials in the area now and they are well worth traveling up to and would like to do loads more. The Expert class looked very tough and technical throughout the day and watching the likes of some of the top UK riders in action makes you realise ju…

As it doesn't take me long to get home from Rhayader, let be the first to say how much I enjoyed todays trials; proper sections, some great scenery and a good challenge. I rode the (easier?) Clubman route on my twinshock and though had plenty of 3's, most sections (with a couple of exceptions) were clean-able and only the one 5 (on the first sub). Jack Parker showed me the glorious shot he'd just taken of me becoming detached from the SWM, threatening publication.....hopefully not. The rocks at Horid were entertaining and the stream at Doliago that had probably the hardest double-sub, but all-in-all a great trial that was excellent fun (the main thing). Many thanks f…

The recent signing of Toni Bou to Honda has upset the applecart a bit and coupled with the fact that those Gas Gas financial rumours just will not go away, it seems Fajardo is off to replace him at Beta. Now Farjado is a good rider, but I can't see him breaking into the worlds top 5. Honda once again have 3 of the 5 top riders in the world, they have been powerful in previous years with the 2-strokes but the 4-stroke campaign has stepped it up a gear to the point where their budget probably exceeds the rest of the paddock's put together. Given that a trials rider's wage & the bike development is so small compared to funding an F1 & MotoGP effort, Honda just see…

To all those riders that missed this event, 52 sections in one of the most beautifull settings in Yorkshire. Full credit to all organisers, landowners, observers and the propriator of "The Sun Inn" who dishes up a most delitefull pint of Black Sheep Ale. First day out on the CA 05 4RT, what can I say, a joy to ride !!!! Looking forward to up and coming Holgate (RMDC) and the Vic Boyes (M`Boro) clubs to really put the beast to the test!!! 4RT Power.

Alexz Wigg took a Superb and confident win in the Stratford-Upon-Avon clubs Ralph Varden trial on Sunday. Dropping just 15 marks in the muddy conditions, Wigg halved the score of the next best rider Ross Danby. In third place was Buster Reagan on 42 with Mark Hicken fourth on 43. Expert Simon Levett riding down a route was best on the B route loosing just three marks with top Over 40 rider Clive Charleton taking maximum points towards his championship dropping 30. Eveshams Mick Chapman was third on36. Evergreen Kevin McCullagh won the C route on 30.

The Stratford-Upon-Avon Club are holding a club trial at Saintbury Quarry near Broadway on Sunday 29th October. There will be three routes available so there should be something for everyone. The venue will be signposted from the A44 at the top of Fish Hill, East of Broadway, entries close at 10am. The first ten riders to bring along an Observer will get a free entry.

Big thanks to all involved organisers observers, fantastic trial, well-done all of you. 40 sections - 2 laps of twenty over quite a big lap in amazing countryside, me Ralph and The Goat Ryan did the 50/50 route which was perfect for us . Real variety of sections from mud/slippy to streams/steps/waterfalls all very ridable and no Geof Capes moments. Few ran out of fuel on the first lap, mainly gassers so the actual lap must have been quite long. Finished in about 5 and a half hours as it just started to lash it down. Met Eiger on here, he can ride that TY with the best of them as well, and had a few good chats with some of the observers. Had a ***** first 10 sections mai…

I've had a few requests for this so to save sending out emails etc. here goes. The start field is sign posted from the centre of Richmond, it's on the road from Richmond to Markse. OS leisure map #30 is ideal for the area. Programme with map is available on the start field & most local shop / garages etc. Get to the start field for 8 ish then you'll get a good look round. or hell lets loose at 9.00am when the first man sets off & they then go at 20 second intervals. There's then several ways of doing it, you simply can't see everything as it all happens too fast so making a plan & sticking to it is a good idea. The amount of traffic on the day stops you go…

Thanks to everyone involved today and observers, great trial and good sections throughout, only a couple of Geoff Capes ones but all ridable. Held at Saintbury Quarry which runs a group for the Colmore National as well, nice and grippy for a change and met Pete aka Scorpa3 on here, hes running a trial there on the 29th this month (Stratford on Avon MCC) Pretty sure Steve Workman won it on the Honda and may have only dropped one or two all day and I dont think I worried him in the slightest. Little surprised to see how quickly most of the clubman completed the trial, I had done the first lap and many had finished all four? did nt think I was too slow and finished in plen…
