Hi all, Just curious about castrols recommended 2 stroke oil for the 250 Evo, There first recommendation is Power 1 scooter, they say that scooters do a lot of stop/start and the oil is very good for this type of riding (Trials) and has excellent non exhaust clogging properties, There alternative recommendation is Power 1 Racing Just wondered if anyone has used the scooter oil,(opinions) They also say Ratio 66:1 but on the bottle it says upto 50:1 Just getting back into trials from a long time at enduro, I used power 1 racing for enduro, is this oil OTT for trials Many thanks Jeffers

Just like to say thank you to Robin and his helpers for tonights trial, bit of a rush for me to get to the 5 oclock start, when i finished work at 4.30 but despite the pouring rain it was a cracking venue with sections which were just right for me, (might've been a tad easy for the top guys but thats the way it goes). Can think of a better way to spend a sat evening than a good trial, sausage and chips on the way home then a couple of beers to round it off. Just got to wait and see what the results are. cheers Hoggy (no82)

  14. Hi all. I realise this may be a bit late in the day but I have a few questions about the Middlesbrough DMC trial at Centre Farm, Battersby this afternoon. I want to take my kids to their first trial (I'm an ex trials rider off of the 1980/90's) and fancy this one at Battersby. Does anybody know how far the sections are from the parking area? I don't fancy a half hour walk to get to them...... . Also, how compact is the trial? Can we walk the whole of the sections with an eight year old in tow! Thanks in advance for any info any of you can give Gary

Just thought i ask the trials public out there whether trials should be capped in a centre. I ask this because a club my centre has approx 26 events next year. This may not be a problem to those that just ride but to us organisers it is as we cannot find an alterative date if need be. My own thought on the matter is that they should and that a club should only be given permits for 12 events.

We had a trial at Chads farm today. The routes were all definitely ramped up for difficulty levels. On the first section we did.... section 8 , because there were so many people, I did Yellow AND cleared it, then I did the red, which was a lot more complex.... and managed to fall off good and propper, smacking my knee and landing on my side.... below my hip, but above my thigh (no idea what that area is called) and by the time the day waqs over 5 hrs later it was quite sensitive. The rest of the day was a stormer, and at one point, Chris, who we ride with sometimes, saw what I was doing, after I had invited him to do a 3foot tree stump uphill, and he refused. He commen…

  18. I haven't measured it, but... The chain set on my (new to me) 2009 evo250 looks to be in reasonable condition; but the chain is slack, almost touching the swing arm. However the snail adjusters are at their max rotation. I suspect a smaller sprocket than standard is on it. So, how much length will I get if I turn the adjusters to thier minimum setting? Enough to cut a link off the chain so I can set it up at the correct tension?

Is it normal for the chain to wear out before the sprockets??.I`ve recently taken a link out of my chain `cos i couldnt take the slack out with the snail cams. While i was messing with it,i noticed that the rollers on the chain are sitting on the foward flank.Looks worn. What do you think. PS the sprokets are fine. Steve
