  1. As the news of Dougie Lampkin's record extending seventh Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) victory filters its way around the world, it would be easy to take the thirty-seven-year-old's victory for granted especially when the margin of his win becomes apparent. However in reality the headlines do not tell the true story behind Dougie's road to his latest Scottish success, as the last six months have been anything but easy for the former twelve times FIM Trial World Champion. Two operations, the first of which was meant to be a routine minor procedure and a second to rectify the initial unsuccessful attempt, within a four-day period late last year saw Dougie's health begin …

Hello People. My daughter has left her XC-Tinc, yellow trials jacket at the Lower Mamore section "C" today ( Saturday). We went back later in the day but it had gone. If anyone perhaps knows the where abouts of said jacket, I would appreciate it if you could let me know either through this post or give me a call on 07881 495025. I will gladly pay any postage to have it returned. Thanks.

  4. Any photos of #176 finishing on Saturday? At the finishers ramp? Probably looking very tired. Or any other photos at all would be greatly appreciated.

I've had contact from Guy Smeeth, the lone Canadian entry in this year's SSDT who has a little bit of a logistics problem. His flight gets into Glasgow airport around 1pm on Sat 6th May. The next bus won't get him into Fort William until it's too late to do any work on his new, untested bike. I've checked train times and that's the same. Is there anybody passing through Glasgow around 1:30pm on the Saturday heading for the SSDT who could help him out with a lift? If so, please PM me or email me trialscentral AT trialscentral.com

Heard Scotland has had the best snow for years don't know if it will affect the trial but check out the snow http://www.winterhighland.info/forum/read.php?2,60934 Look at the bottom of the page, hope everyone's got their avalanche transceivers with them Glencoe and Ben Nevis are still open for skiing so I've heard.

Best of luck if he's being driven up by Gordon Farley. Many years ago, GJ told me that GF had offered to take him up to Fort William for the day, in GF's new Ferrari. Apparently they did it!

Trying to trace history of my Tlr 250. This was registerd by Honda UK and has the next reg number after E. Liguene's works Honda(you can see his reg number in '4 stroke finale' dvd/book). It was ridden in the scottish as it has some very faint markings on the engine relating to the marking system used at the SSDT but is un-readable. Also this bike has RTL bottom engine numbers stamped and an external oil feed from front of gearbox to the head. I would like to get hold of entry list's from 84/85 to see if it might show up who owned/rode the bike? I bought the bike from John Lee m/c in 2003 and apparently it had been stored for 12 years prior to this. Any help appreciated.

Im taking my wife up to Ft William to watch some of this years event. However, shes a bit unsteady (has MS) so ideally need to know if she will be allowed to take a fold up chair to sit and watch? Anyone know if this will be ok? Cheers all.

so as the ssdt rapidly approaches who would you put your money on to win the womens class, with no spanish or german contenders this year ,i think it could be rather intresting. my money would be on maria conway on current form but if you look at the entry list theres 5 potential contenders but i think it may be very close .

This is just a quick note to those of you who have already paid your entry fee, and a warning to those of you who have still to do so! If you choose to pay either cash or a cheque over the counter, the bank may not pass on any reference that you give them - we are receiving these payments in our account and the only reference quoted is the sort code of the bank that you've made the payment at, meaning that we have no means of matching your payment to your entry. To those of you who have already paid over the counter... At the moment there are six unidentified payments in our account, paid on 26th January, 4th February, 9th February, 11th February and 12th February. If…

Just a quick reminder for those of you who have a SSDT entry - the payment deadline is Friday of this week. No payment, no entry, so don't leave it to the last minute!

My and my kid are driving up to Fort W from Mallorca for the SSDT. His first visit at all, my first visit in 30 years...(Where did THEY go?) We're vanning the bikes up there so we don't have to stop ANYWHERE in France. (Maybe that's just me.) Question: what's the situation re: B&Bs etc? Will we have trouble getting someplace to stay in the vicinity? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks all in advance. Norman

A lad was telling me the other day that a 19" front tube will still stretch to fit the front but works better than a 21" on the rear if you need it. Anyone know if it works or not ? would make sense to carry one of them round if it does.
