There are numerous threads and discussions, even a couple of treds, about US world contenders, it seems to be a fairly constant thought / goal and most here seem to feel it is an admirable goal. I was reading through I believe last months Trials Comp though, and came across something that struck me as very interesting, and I believe an astute and accurate insight. The article was written by Mario Candelone who I am certain has seen more world level riders then I will ever see, this is the gentleman that produces those incredible coffee table books on trials, and I would imagine he is the primary overseas contributor to Trials Comp. I do not believe he has a vested inte…

I'm working with the Rhode Island Trials Club to put on a vintage trial in Exeter, RI on September 16. The club has run several Nationals and World Rounds at this facility. We are trying to promote the vintage event by playing up the link with the 1975 World Round that was held at this site. Prior to 1975 it was called the European Championship. Then they added a round in Canada and the US and started calling it the World Championship. Here are the results: World Round July 20, 1975 Stepping Stone Ranch, Escoheag, R.I. 1. Malcolm Rathmell (Montesa) 54 2. Yrjo Vesterinen (Bultaco) 58 3. Manuel Soler (Bultaco) 64 4. Ulf Karlsson (Montesa) 64 5. Charles Cout…

So I have very recently purchased a used 2014 Beta Evo. The stickers on the seat area are starting to peel up in the corners. For the most part, the decals are in decent shape. Does anyone know of a trick to reverse this process, and perhaps re-adhere the stickers to the body work? I live in Michigan and the my garage is not heated. Your help is appreciated!

Well our California Youth Team is once again getting geared up for the Youth Nationals at the TTC in July. We have a few fund raisers going on to help us with the large expense to get the kids and bikes back there. First at our local ATA events my wife runs the youth team Hot Dog stand in which we sell hot dogs, drinks and snacks. Everything is on a donation bases so you can just pay what you want, our riders and family's are very kind and we often have 10's and 20's even though nobody eats that much After one event we found a $100.00 dollar bill in the jar and we don't know who left it, we thank that person very much Next we are having our own youth team trial o…

Not sure who to ask so.... As there is no US round next year and we enjoyed ourselves (and the company) at the TTC, would it be possible for Team Danby to make a flying visit to the US and Ross ride in one of your nationals as a guest? Ideally when theres at least a 2 day event or something? we could stay there for a week and then ride at the weekend. We would need a bike but we would take our own engine (125cc) and other parts? If possible then I just need some dates and locations to see if we can sort it out? The TTC is a great venue and if we can tie it up there then that would be great ! Many thanks Ian

And...anybody out there near Elkins West Virginia? I may be out there for a week this summer with free time on my hands. Charlie's Album...and bid for World Musical Domination

After attending the Ontario CA Endurocross, I am amazed by the popularity of this sport among young (and a few old)Trials Riders. A $100. entry, and about 1 hr of total riding time the whole day! Speed,Fame,Money,..... the reasons lost on me.

I'm splitting out of Denver and short on time, but let's give it up for the main man, Keith Wineland. Keith posted the fasted hot lap times and in the main event finished 2nd to none other the Knight Rider. Trials riders were winning heat after heat. Simply amazing and a must see. Three trials guys made it into the main event. Wineland (2nd), my kiddo Phillip Smage (6th) and Mr. Trials guy himself, Nick Manzarro (8th). Five trials riders total showed up. Colton Haaker and Geoff Aaron were the other two. Phil beat Aaron to take the last chance qualifier with a pass on the last lap. These guys took down the who's-who of the off-road world. What an event. Olklahoma, watch …

Recently at the Baraboo trial in Wisconsin, 2 riders had scorecards with the same number of 0's 1's 2's 3's and 5's NATC rules say the next tiebreaker is farthest cleans which to me is a little vague. The first loop card of rider #1 was 1,0,0,0,0,0,1 The first loop card of rider #2 was 1,0,0,0,0,1,1 We gave rider #1 the winning place, based on his clean in the 6th section which is the farthest, but I wanted to verify this. Thanks.

Alan, loved your questions about my positions on the 125cc national championship. Thanks for asking them! Please ask me some more so I can clear up any other misconceptions about what my positions are. You also mentioned we agree on some things! What are they? My main two guiding principles are this in a nutshell. Excellence and honesty for myself, the sport , the organizers, officals, manufacturers, importers and our best riders and national teams.! I'm sorry if it appeared that I didn't answer questions, that was never my intension. Simply bad writing and reading skills.
