USA Trials

A US National (actually two) happened this weeekend and our prime organizations dropped the ball again. Where was the press release, where are the results? Doesn't all these members of the NATC who have a financial stake in the sport know how to promote their riders? Nothing from Gas Gas, nothing from Sherco, nothing from Beta, nothing from Montesa, nothing from Scorpa. Nothing from Trials Comp. All these busineses make money from riders selling stuff, yet nothing.

I hereby dedicate my El Trial de Espana ride to Christy. You can only imagine the motivation you get from having that woman on top of a huge step spotting you. With a crowd of thousands cheering me on I was able to block it all out except for her voice telling me I could do it. Of course I also have to credit Kip Webb as well. Also instilling confidence to attempt the huge stuff knowing that gorilla was there to catch my bike if I failed, which he had to do a couple of times.

Where is the best place to stay for the world round? It looks like things close to the TTC are full. Where in Chattanooga is a good place to stay? Or is there someplace else close that would have decent rooms. Thanks for the help

I see that the West Youth Nationals are in the books for 2005. Congratulations to all those who rode and thanks to all those involved in putting them on. I have a question though. I am unfamiliar with the young man who won the Open Class out West. How old is he? May I assume he doesn't ride the Nationals, since I haven't heard the name? Also, is there someone reading this post who is familiar with both he and the East Open Champion, Will Ibsen. How do they compare skill wise? Just curious.

Thanks to Chuck Weir and the AMA for the letter of apology for not including the youth age group national champions at the AMA Sports Banquet. It was a big evening and one where oversights can happen. the kids were disappointed not being brought up with the senior adult group winners. They are tough at that young age and chances are they have not given it much thought since then. Your letter is greatly appreciated, it was a great evening.

Hi there, I am currently sailing over the Pond from the UK (doing some Subesea construction in the GOM ).We are stopping of in Mobile,Alabama. I was wondering if anybody knew of any trials dealers or accessories / clothing type shops in town (know a few bars and of course Hooters but thats all I remember from last time).any info would be appreciated. Missing Christmas and New Year with the family so soem trias related retail therapy may help

To be clear - the idiot refers to me. I know very little of AHRMA beyond a couple of brief conversations with other local vintage enthusiasts. The general sentiment shared was that AHRMA rules can be somewhat strict when it comes to acceptable vintage bikes. Certainly more so than local club events. Having just returned from Scotland where I was fortunate to compete in the Leven 2-day trial, I'm on sensory overload with all the incredibly cool pre-65 bikes I saw over there. Last year for the National in Cotapaxi Co I showed up with a brand new Dunlop 803 on the back of my bike.. Yeah, I was that one guy with a new tire...So after destroying a good tire and finding out that it is near impossible to spin on those rocks I find that we are headed back to CO. in a couple more weeks but to different grounds. My question is to anyone familiar with the Canyon City terrian, is it like Cotapaxi where a 10 year old dry rotted IRC would be fine or would a nice new tire help more. Same rock texture as Cotapaxi? any mud? any loose dirt? water? To better help answer the question I will be riding the Support line and others coming along will be riding…

We are heading for Co. next thur.7th -11th. We will be riding in the Rampart Range area below Denver, actually staying in Sedalia ,I think?? Any one ride/live in that area ? any tips would be nice. Any one from central Mo. want to go? we may have room for 1 in truck, would have room for several bikes in trailer.We have 4 definate going ,1 is already there ,maybe 3 more(that will be a little crowded) if they can decide???? If anybody would like we could meet out there for some riding that would be great.
