Well our first National is over .. Everyone had a great time ! The pros were duly challenged , The event was a success ..Thanks in part to ALL OF THE RIDERS.. Who supported us .. Thanks! This is about as far as the other side I could find. Can anyone tell me why the british media - or shall I say paparazzi are in Chicago covering the Lord Conrad Black trial? Why is this guy a big deal, other than being a billion dollar media mogul crook? And how are they going to find a jury of 12 peers? The only other billionaire I know like him in Chicago is Oprah. Oh, and speaking of paparazzi, I'm told no one got a photo of him entering or leaving the federal courthouse. Maybe I gotta go down there today and show the brits how it's done?

The following is a release from GNCC Racing: The battle has been brewing for two years, and now two World Champions - Finland's Juha Salminen and Isle of Man's David Knight - will face off at this weekend's Power Line Park GNCC in St. Clairsville, Ohio, round 12 of the Suzuki Grand National Cross Country Series. Salminen is the current champion of the U.S.-based GNCC Series. Knight, the current FIM World Enduro Champion in the E3 class, will race the GNCC Series in the U.S in 2007 for the factory KTM team. With the possibility that you guys will get your next trials world champion this year(albeit at Youth Level), I was wondering what effect Bernie Schreiber had on the US trials scene when he won in '79? I ask simply because I know that you guys get behind a sport that you do well at on the world stage, so therefore I wondered if there is anything you can remember from the time, as to what happened in the months/years after the win that you would kindly share?

The NEOTT Central Regional BIG MONEY EVENT OF THE YEAR at Langley/Disney OK may be the last time you see a couple of the best riders in the US and the World in competition! There may well be quite a few of the top riders show up for this one, but It is confirmed that Sherco rider David Chaves has accepted a position with the Sherco factory in Spain and intends to make a trip back to ride this event and take care of a few things. Picture Gallery here Another great turn out in the Pacific Northwest. Over 80 riders on all sorts of bikes. Again the Modern Classic (roughly 1970-1980 twinshock) class was the most populated. There were some vicious sections. We sat and watched one trap take out rider after rider. Between the mud and a precariously placed tree root on an uphill turn, it managed to cause more 5's than I'd seen in a while. I took at crack at it and dog paddled my way through all three rounds, more than happy to take my 3's and move on. Just watched the Bourne Ultimatum and the motorcycle used in the chase scene is non other than a copy of my own Montesa 4RT. There were a few very nice advanced tricks done including a nose turn and a 5 foot wall climb. I had to slow-mo the movie to determine the bike due to the fake tank molded over the stock one. Very cool!!!!

To help bring Alan and others up to speed on the NATC proposals to revamp the nationals and enlarge the US Pro class, here's a thumbnail blueprint of that proposal. Expert Sportsmen, Expert and Pro would be combined into one large class. Creating a much larger gene pool for the pros and more competition. Pro sections would be a mix of 1/3 Expert Sportsmen level sections, 1/3 Expert sections and 1/3 Pro levels sections for the morning qualifier. Contested with the Sportsmen event like now with the splits for the Pros, the biggest change would be the need for only two lines in the sections instead of three like we use now. I was watching one of my trialstv dvds (2002 Volume 2 to be precise) and when I got to the "Crash and Burn" vintage section I again marveled at how great the one-armed guy rode. The video was from about 1994. For those of you who haven't seen it, his arm was amputated above the left elbow. It looked like he had both the clutch and brake levers mounted on the right bar, and had a leather loop attached to his left bar to apparently help him pull the bike around. It was truly impressive. Also when they get a little older you can ride the same sections that they do, which is a blast. What I do is demo the sections for him and they tend to follow along. As they become more independent they soon start finding lines that are acutally better for them than what you can pick. It ends up being a lot of fun. Most importantly, don't push them!
