I hereby dedicate my El Trial de Espana ride to Christy. You can only imagine the motivation you get from having that woman on top of a huge step spotting you. With a crowd of thousands cheering me on I was able to block it all out except for her voice telling me I could do it. Of course I also have to credit Kip Webb as well. Also instilling confidence to attempt the huge stuff knowing that gorilla was there to catch my bike if I failed, which he had to do a couple of times.

Hi all, here's the latest items to watch for on TV, specifically 2-wheel Tuesday on Speed Channel. Hope you get it. Last Wednesday, May 19, Speed filmed a neat segment on trials riding by a group of roadracers including 1993 world motogp champ Kevin Schwantz and Formula USA and WERA champs Trey Batey and Michael Martin. After 2 days of instruction in roadracing at the Barber racetrack, the roadrace instructors came to the Trials Training Center to become students of trials riding. Those guys are good! Speed channel will have a really nice segment on an upcoming episode, probably on Tuesday, May 25. That segment will be a nice lead-in to their coverage of the World …

For those of you that may not be aware, American Dennis Sweeten is the lone US rider at the SSDT this year. Dennis got off to a rough start on Monday and was out of the top 100, but has since pulled himself into the top 50. Wednesday he had a very respectable 18 point day. Dennis owns Apex Sports in Oregon and is the Montesa parts distributor for the US. http://www.trialscentral.com/cms/showartic...p?articleID=409 Martin Belair US Montesa

I think it is Gaby that works in the bicycle shop???? Really anyone that can help would be great. I am going to mount a disc front brake on Dean's Sherco 50. I believe that I want AVID cable operated discs, and a down hill 20mm "thru hub" I think it is called laced to a 20" wheel. Gaby, can you help me do this cheaply? Yes, I am cheap. Or anyone else, or questions, suggestions or comments appreciated. Thanks.

Trials Training Center THe entry forms are starting to trickle in for the Youth National and U.S. Women's Open. For those of you still needing entry forms, you can download them from the TTC website on the front page, scroll down to the bottom. (http:\\www.trialstrainingcenter.com) We have a week long Family Youth Camp planned this year with activities planned everyday for the whole family, starting on Sunday, June 27. I would really like to see the entry field for the Youth reach 100 this year and 40 for the Womens Open. So how about it!!

Would all champ class riders please let me who are planning to attend El Trial? I know the national schedule isn't very user friendly this year and I'd like to know prior to setting up the Sunday exibition sections. Lord knows if you guys don't show up I'll have to do it and I don't think we have enough protective gear to pass out to the crowd. regards on behalf of the American Trials Association, Ringo

Noel has asked me to start some dicussion about moving the Dickeyville/Platteville event back one weekend. It's currently scheduled for August 7/8. However, that's the immediate weekend after the Haggis Basher 2 day in Duluth. This doesn't allow much time for the guys to set it up. So the proposal is that we move Dickeyville/Platteville to August 15/16. Please comment. I'm sending this to our dicussion group at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/WIMNtrials/ and posting it to several other locations such as UMTA.org and trialscentral.. -- Regards, Bentley Wolfe Senior Support Engineer, Macromedia Flash Senior Escalation Engineer Owner, MEGAMO MIDWEST - Now s…

Is this event still on? I went to the website and it only lists the Dec 6 2003 indoor. From the gasgas USA website: "The second event in the series is scheduled for May 16, 2004 in Ontario, California. Check http://www.mototrials.com for more information."

Aha! I finally beat Andy to some WOTA stuff! Who says I never update the web site? Well, a lot of people say that, because last year that was true. But this year I'm on the ball. So no story yet. Waiting for Craig the PR guy to send that here to TC, then I'll get a copy. But I put some pics up on http://www.wisconsintrials.org/. In other news... I only rode 2 event days last year, and this year I haven't ridden at all. Sold my bike to finance some home stuff. Just hanging out. So I've been thinking about riding Vintage next season just to cut costs and see how the air-cooled crowd hangs.. Well, I was encouraged to spend the day yesterday riding an '83 Fantic. …

Allright now, I've been gone for quite some time, mainly because it got so boring. I was hoping that the room had lightened up with certain wood chewing varmits off in their own world and Michael Jackson wannabee's banned. Some of you guys take trials in general waaaaay too seriously. Let's not forget that this should be an extention of the campfire. You guys debate **** as thought we were talking politics. Andy and Ian, Maybe there should be a two drink minimum before anyone posts just to get thier technical heads out of their rosie smelling asses and have some fun. We all ride trials and 90% of us all get along no matter where we are in the nation or the worl…

Our local state run OHV park has seperate motorcycle and 4wd areas (CA) The park officials and 4wd groups have agreed to allow trials bikes in the 4wd area but do not want the MXers in there. The difficult part is how to designate the area for 4wd and trials only. Enforcement could be a major issue. Does anything like this exist elsewhere? How is it handled? (So far, Trials specific tires seem to be the best choice.)

I hadn't been in the garage for a while until yesterday, and when I went out there, my girl's 1.25 Sherco wasn't there. As far as I know, it's the only 1.25 Sherco in SE Michigan, so if anyone spots one anywhere near the Detroit metro area please E-mail me at randy.arndt AT gm.com so I can get the police to investigate.
