All an earlier post discussed some mods to a Beta rev 80, i wondered if anyone had some more detail on these. [*]Modification to the front pipe [*]what should i set the squish thickness to? [*]opening the airbox inlet apertures [*]fitting a rear shock from another Beta [*]what weight fork oil do people use? lastly, what is the average piston life?? or do you just replace when it shows piston slap.

Horsforth have announced that Small Wheel Conducted Trials will be included at all Club Championship Trials starting this Sunday. This has got to be a big boost for the Youth sections and is due to the larger numbers of Young Trialers looking for events at weekends. All Yeadon Guiseley Trials (Beginners, Club and Centre trials), Barring Nationals, All Horsforth Beginners, Wednesday night and Club trials and All Ripon Club trials in the Yorkshire Centre now have Conducted classes. All we need now is somebody to produce a NEW 50cc manual and we're off!!

My young lad will be moving to a 125 this time next year but I'm already thinking about which direction to take. He's big enough and currently rides an 80 Gas Gas Rookie so is used to the weight and size of a virtually full size bike. But what comes next? Not so much a fan of Beta's, Sherco 125's seem popular but have changed for 2016, same with Scorpa's, who knows about Gas Gas, although I do like them. Any advice or experience gratefully listened to

  5. Started by cubby,

Starting to think about what bike is next for my lad and wanted to hear of any experiences good or bad that you've had moving to a bigger bike. He is currently on a Sherco 50, auto clutch, very good bike and he loves riding it, currently in his first year of D class. He is starting to need something more though, and I'm not sure whether to move to a bike such as a GG Boy, which apparently has better suspension, brakes and more power, or onto maybe a medium wheel bike like a cadet or Beta 50? Don't want to over bike him, and put him off but I'm thinking more along the lines of a medium wheel bike. Any advice would be welcome

Hi Guys I was just wondering what the sections were like in a National D class trial? Are they very hard? My lad is nearly 9, just upgraded to a GG Cadet 50 and fancies having a go at a national. Any advise or experiences would be appreciated Thanks Tom

As youth riders in Europ are now staying on the 80cc bikes longer than the UK, and the A.C.U. are trying to fall in line with the FIM etc. Would it not be possible to introduce a 80cc class into the youth B British championships from 2007. All youth C riders will be on the 80cc bikes and all youth A riders will be on 125, so there will be less class's anyway. The youth B is the biggest class in the championships so why not introduce a youth B 80cc class as well as the 125. Some of the smaller lads find the jump to 125 a bit much, so introducing a 80 class would help them get used to the harder sections on a bike they could handle before making the jump to 125. Joh…

  12. right, thought of giving the british youth ago and see how i get on, has anybody got any info on what to expect and the terrain that will be used. thank scott

So Beta aren't bringing in any REV50's any more and Gas Gas haven't got any of the 50's either. D class medium wheel is looking a little sparse. Still good thing is that if you have a REV50 Or Geared Gas Gas 50 the price will go up!

  14. This Sunday 23rd December there will be no TY or Purple route for the kids at the Stanley Trial at Butsfield. The following week (30th) we will be back to nornal with kids routes on. Wishing you a very merry Christmas from Consett and Stanley Trials clubs Hope to see you all in the New Year - Bring the kids along with their new bikes to get into trialling. We will cater for all levels and always put something on for whoever turns up, be it a purple route around the main course, or a separate TY route cheers John

I have an older Beta 80 (with the cable clutch), all the newer manuals tell me to check the oil level with the sight glass...but I don't have one. Nor do I have a filler cap. How do I check levels and fill it?

  16. Started by craiglynsey,

After taking my two sons 8 and 11 yearrs old to the dirt bike show, I have decided to buy them both bikes for christmas. I've ordered a new 20" eco for my eleven year old but am on the look out for a 36v 16" for my 8yr old. The thinking is that maybe next year the 8yr old will move onto the 20" so should get plenty usage from the new bike. The question is what do I need to look out for when viewing / buying a second hand Oset, this is new to me and would hate to buy a dodgy bike for my sons present. Any help will be much appreciated.

Well those of us with A & B Class riders will be heading down to Devon this weekend. NYL and myself will be in amongest the "B" class entrants. The course is numbered differently this year which will probably help when getting to the "Gulley" sections but many will be aware of the "stoppers". Josh Maude in "B" class and Jon Chambers in "A" are missing but the main runners will be there. The organisation will be better as well. Cheadle left a lot to be desired after our "home" YG round. I know That Dob Park has permanent buildings but trying to find out what was going on in a "tesco" tent was not what I expect from a British National. Neither was the total lack of a Po…
