Classic Trials

Recently purchased from the original owner, a 1975 Bultaco Sherpa 250. The bike was registered in Northern Ireland and I have brought it back to England. I have sorted out the registration as it only had the original hand written document issued in NI. So, a new V5C has been issued after DVLA sent an engineer to check it all out. The bike is exempt from road tax and MOT, and as no lights were fitted when new, it does not have a brake light. I realise I can only use this bike (on the street) during daylight/good visibility, but would anyone know if I have to fit a brake light. I have read elsewhere that if the brake light wasn't fitted from new then it is not needed.…

Been working for several months on this restoration. When I got the bike it was pretty rough, it had been sitting outdoors in boxes and was pretty rusty and person I bought it from had put it together , but not very well. I have rebuilt front forks, replaced rear shocks with OZO gas shocks for trials, replaced front rim, it was real rusty, replaced gas tank, it had rusted through bottom and person had epoxied the inside, yuck. Tank I put on was from Ebay and had light rust inside which was fixed with just plain old vinegar and some pea gravel and knocking out dents and a little Bondo. Hi All, I'm looking to buy a pre 65 trials bike to one day compete in the Scottish and other pre 65 events. I am a modern trials rider and the pre 65 scene seems a bit of a mine field...I am 6 foot 5 and 105kg's so it needs to be something with reasonable power, although I appreciate it's not going to perform like a modern trials bike. I like the look of the tiger cubs and I know someone who has a good one for sale (230cc), but people tell me they can be a pain to set up. BSA C15 also seems like a popular option, but reasonably heavy? And I think a Bantam would be underpowered? If anyone can provide a bit of advice, that would be greatly appreciated. …

I've got a ty175 1979 after my dad passed away I brought some new levers as old ones are a bit of a finger trap ,put new one on clutch and after putting new lever on clutch does not disengage, so I put original lever back on and still clutch will not disengage would any of you have any idea what I have managed to mess up

My 75' Honda TL250 has the stock tiny foot pegs. I see kits advertised to modify & enlarge the original footrests by welding in steel pieces. Have a MIG welder etc but would prefer to just buy quality modern style complete pegs that fit with none or minimal modification. Does anybody make these for my bike?

Hello, I have been trying to get a v5 for my Honda matise MH200 .1982. Having problems with the DVLA , any help really appreciated . I have vin numbers and engine numbers , but no registration number . And that is why they sent it back ! That's what I thought I was trying to get ! For £25 . Regards Bernard

I did find the Armstrong Trials website for replacement plastics etc. I have email the address at the bottom of the website, I have used the email page on the website... and have not got any reply in a month or so. Hi, I am on my second Cota 349 build (for my sins) and this one has really gave me a head spin. The engine has just been rebuilt and all I needed to do was connect the electrics and that was it, job done... Er no chance! Brand new points, condenser, stator check(good), new coil, new plug cap and new plug, but no spark. Coil on frame had a very good earth with no paint in between, all engine mounts have good earth as well. Can anyone on here throw me a bone to what I might have to do to get a spark please?

The first about Triumph cub hubs rear ,some guys widen this ones what is The messurement on them after the modifikation? Front brakes what is best on MP forks? Any suggestions? Cheers Mat
