hi there folks. first post from myself. I will introduce myself immediately in the usual "presentations" post. I have years of motorbikes experiences mostly thumpers. I would love one of these SWM or a Yama TY or (suggestions) as a registered light trail bike and fun bike for beginners trials. how is parts availability ? reliability ? fun factor ? easyness of living with ? what else should I consider ? thanks

This engine came along with a recent purchase, is there any chance the stator could have survived ? Thanks Ross

Hello fellow SWM riders, Long story here. In full disclosure this is an account of my distant memory and my fathers account as told to me recently. He has told me this in full frustration pent up for 30+ years. As this goes here is the story: In Western NY USA as a child I found myself excited to follow my father to each and every trials event. In this story I was about 6 years old. I was instructed on how to follow a "Loop" and that i was only allowed to be on the loop or in the pits if I were to come to the event. Mom was very burnt out with motorcycles at this point so it was only he and I. This was the golden year of 1982... Three weeks before this d…

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine on my 1982 320TL. Everything was going fine until I came to setting the ignition timing. I know that it should be between 2.6 and 2.8 BTDC but I can't rotate the stator plate enough to achieve this. Can someone help by taking me through the process for setting the ignition timing as I am probably making an elementary mistake! Cheers Chris

Jon Bliss has just built this SWM for me with a 140cc Pit Bike Engine, pictured in tatty first build, I know its looks wrong, but you want to ride it ?? Weighs in the same as a 2014 Sherco 125. I will post more pics over the next few weeks of the final build. Pete.

I've managed to source a new piston for my 84 jumbo from Italy, however when it's arrived the skirt is 5 mm shorter than the original. As this will affect the inlet port timing will the bike run or do I need another? The pistons are almost impossible to find.

Hi, afer I rebuilt my TL320s motor, gearchanging was a dream. It stated getting problematic going down the box especially from 2nd to 1st. Now it is also a pain going up the box from 1st to 2nd. The clutch isn't dragging so something with the pawl setup seems to have changed. Any ideas ? Phil

Hi, following on from my road registrations thread, I was looking at my Gori and it has some signs it was registered at some point: The full format of the frame number is *MT325*1331xx* am going to try the DVLA (as I was born in Yorkshire and am too tight to pay for a HPI) to see if they can find a record for it but does anybody have one that was registered from new as I wondered if the full frame number is given on the log book or just the last 6 digits? Many thanks

Hi Guys, has anyone knowledge about the early seats on the first gunaco bikes ? My TL 320 Gunaco has a thickly polsterd single seat with SWM Logo in it. I´ve looked for pictures etc. of other ones and they all have the new sort which is much thiner and harder. The bike has following details that can still be read TL / 111179 / 00007 the rest has gone with the years but it must be a quite early one as it has 34 mm forks before they changed to 35 mm. Looking at a picture of the long ride version it seems this had a simular thick seat but was just a bit longer.

Hello peeps, Wondering who's got some knowledge to share... took apart the forks to change seals and fill on my new to me and new to be running again SWM 320 first off one tube had the white end bit inside and the other had it outside (see pic) I assume they should both be inside after looking and seeing damage on the white plastic end bit (may still work) Not sure if it was assebled wrong or slipped past the snap ring somehow. next I noticed the springs are not the same length..... does anyone know how I should proceed? thanks lots Tarik
