Hi all in the SWM Data list at swm-moto.org the Jumbo 350 carb is listed as having a needle SX200. After asking at Dellorto there isn´t a needle SX200 listed. Can someone say what the right needle is ?

Any one any ideas how to wire up the horn electrics on a 320TL 1980's. I have the original horn and there are two spare wires available on the loom. These are coloured yellow and yellow with black stripe. What I really need to know is are these two wires connected directly to the horn or is one of them connected via a switch to earth. Any help appreciated. John

Well my 350 Jumbo is together and runs great! A few things popped up on the first ride so went back into my shop for some "updates" As it stands right now the bike has: 99 Sherco front forks and triples, Aprilia front wheel, back wheel, swingarm and brakes. I also went to a magura jack hydraulic clutch......what a HUGE improvement over stock!, aluminum plates for CNC footpegs, FMF powercore silencer. Motor has: 84mm piston, new connecting rod, new main bearings, all new trans bearings, modified reed cage with dual stage 2 petal reed and matched cases. Going to a 28mm PWK this week....

SWM's and earlier Aprilia's had the PHBH 26 FS carb that had a petrol screw, later Aprilia's have the PHBH26 FS which appears to have an air screw ? Are they any better, or just different ? The one I'm thinking of using has a small brass connection which I think was a vacum to remove any build up from the crank case, but didnt work and was usually blanked off. Can anyone confirm ? Thanks Ross

The points on my TL320 look a little corroded, so I'd like to replace them. Anyone know of a source in the US for these parts? Common with a snowmobile, or ultralight maybe? I also need the flywheel puller. Will the "MOTION PRO FLYWHEEL PULLER SKI DOO ROTAX CDI IGNITION, 62-2037", fit? Looks like it has lots of options on the hole spacings, but I can't find the dimensions listed. It's pretty pricey, so I would hate to buy it, just to find out it doesn't fit. Any other sources for a puller? Stupid question: is the flywheel nut a "normal" thread, or reverse thread? Stupid question #2: how do people generally hold the flywheel when loosening or tightening the flywhe…

  17. Started by turps,

I have a really bad misfire on my 1980 TL320 and am looking for advice. My bike starts 1st or 2nd kick and ticks over great and runs at slow speed fine but as soon as I open the throttle it starts to backfire, I have changed points, condenser, coil, plug lead and plug to try and cure this fault. I have also cleaned out the carb and fitted an in-line fuel filter. There is a chance that when I reassembled the engine that I may have put the disc valve in slightly the wrong position but have yet to check this, I wonder if this would make much of a difference to the performance, as, if it is in the wrong place it will only be out by one or two splines. I will have a look at t…

  20. Just went out for a ride with my TL.NW 320 yesterday and the bike "performend" very well. But there is one problem I believe I have, the rear shocks - still the Girlings - are let's call it very soft, they have a little bit too much sag I believe, (and my weight is 70kg). They a superb for small bumps and absorbing well but I have noticrd that they lack progression. So I have now two possibilities: #1 Repair the Girlings, any Idea who can do this? #1.1 Repair the Girlings which will take weeks or months and additional get a replacement #2 Replace the shocks. There are two brands that came up to my mind here: the Falcons and the NJB Trixshocks, but which one to ch…
