My old friends riding veteran mx and enduro on international level are using the Spanish developed HFS parts for their front forks with very good results. If you look at their web (www.suspensionhfs.com/en) there are some trials kits, too. Has anyone tried them out?

About 20% into my Jumbo 350 project when I bought someone else's 85% finished project. I'll finish it first and then eventually get to the original one. Unfortunately I must have mistakenly deleted all my tear down photos and will probably be poking in occasionally with questions. I looked all over the web but can't find a pic of the skid plate rear mount. I got a new plate from Martin which would crash into the engine case unless there are spacers between the rear mount and the plate. I'm figuring about 12mm of space is needed. Is this right? Am I missing something? Any help w Thanks in advance

Dear all, I have just found an Aprilia TXR312 from ’88, used for competition for the first 5 years or so, then stored (or forgotten) for most of the 25 years until today. Is that Rotax engine an easy transplant to an early (1981) SWM 320? If so, is such a transplant OK and within the spirit of modern twinshock rules, like electronic ignition, modern fork internals and so on…? Or should this Aprilia better be stored for another couple of years, waiting for the hype of early air-cooled monoshock bikes …? Please, tell me what you think of all this! BTW, after draining the tank and transmission, giving it a little fresh pre-mix and transmission oil, the …

Nice old Jumbo that came online here yesterday. Just thought I would share the pics and humorous wording...! Obviously not a trials rider, garage looks like it needs a tidy. Bike has nothing to do with me..! "Humorous Description" "It will start and purr great very fast! Nothing wrong besides that it sat a while so there is a stuck clutch so when you come check it out you can only start it in neutral, you can put it in gear but clutch plates are stuck so there is no slowing down until you cut off the power ha ha ha meant for trials it is lightweight and super powerful..!" I'm refurbishing a Jumbo 350 and could use a little assistance. The seat was a real mess, repaired poorly with fiberglass and attached to the body work with bits of scrap metal and rivets. I've torn it down to what's left of the original seat and have a plan for reconstructing the base and foam. I'd like to use original style attachment but have no idea what that was. I'd much appreciate it if someone with a Jumbo could shoot me some pics of the seat and side panel attachment configuration. Here's what I have now. Thanks Wayne

i have seen a few bikes with straight through exhaust mufflers and like the idea but also like the look of the original exhaust. i decided to cut one open and see what i could do. i have attached some photos that should be self explanitary but if not please ask. i fitted it to the bike this afternoon and it sounded different but still as quiet as the original setup, it also felt quite a but more perky but this was only in quite a small area so i will give it a proper test on monday once its painted and refitted.

Hi all, I'm trying to find some parts for my bike and seem to be struggling with a few. I need: seat straps side panel screws clutch cover plastic bungs/screws front brake stay to suit Marzocchi forks a kickstart stop (which sounds a bit odd) It's a 1980 model with the plastic tank. Anybody any ideas on where to source these, please? None available from MotoSWM at the minute, it appears. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Neil

Restoring a 240 Swm and the rear silencer box was full of the usual crud and also the the two baffles had come loose virtually blocking the way out for the exhaust gases. Is it best to reweld the baffles back in to their original positions or can you leave them out to let the engine breathe easier? Thanks.

I have just replaced the clutch plates in my 1982 SWM 320 with some new surflex plates. I am using 6 friction plates and 7 metal plates and have put all six medium springs back in the clutch basket. I am using ATF in the gearbox. However I need some help, the clutch is slipping like mad, even in 2nd gear and I can't figure out why. I must admit I was confused as to how many plates I should use as I have numerous clutch diagrams showing anywhere between 5 and 7 friction plates. Engaging the gears is really smooth with the new plates installed so what have I done wrong? Any help is appreciated. Cheers Chris

Hi all, I am replacing seals and bearings in my Jumbo engine and have a few questions: - does the gear box internals stay in the clutch side or front sprocket side of motor when split? - is heat needed on the main bearings to come away from the case? Thanks in advance,,

Hi, I've had the crankcasing of my 280 engine beadblasted so as to be able to see if there is any bad corosion which needs to be taken care of before rebuilding. I'd like to know what paint would be the best option to use to reseal the surface, bearing in mind that it needs to be nonporous, hard (scratch resistant) and of course be easy to apply and look good ;o] Any ideas.....

Having recently made a typical barn find, a ´81 TL320, the need for magnesium repair is very obvious. I have done it before and I have the equipment, but when looking at the transmission case I and other parts, I still hesitate. This is not the best castings I have seen and after a long life soaked in oil, it will take some hours of cleaning, blasting, degreasing, grinding and so on before I even order the rods and take my TIG welder out. For example, state of the damage on the transmission side include sveral cracks, holes and worn out threads to deal with, previously "fixed" with bad epoxy and thick paint several years ago, making the welding a process in several steps …
