having just fitted a new float needle, i expected all to be well ,but the bike floods like hell, and i only got it started with fuel off / plug dried a few times,. I am assuming the float level is wrong, is there a std. starting height procedure for this carbs floats ? Or any other reasons for petrol to almost pour out of exhaust on kickover!!!! thanks. S.M.

A pic of my new baby!!! Fantic 125 pro, have just finished giving it a bit of a tidy, paint stickers etc. It is very original including the stightly bizarre shaped standard bars ( may not stick with those ) and the lever/cable protectors. Just passed it's MOT so now to get it dirty tommorow, will be a nice rest from wrestling the TL250. Any one any ideas on bigger footrests for one of these?.

Andy have you heard anymore news about the new Fantic? Just wondering if there is any incling as to what it might be like ie. engine cc and engine stroke (4 stroke or 2 stroke)?

Honda RS you posted this picture a while ago, I was wondering what colour paint you used as it looks more orangey than the original colour of my 240 frame (under the tank where it hasn't faded) and looks like a better colour match. Also what coil is fitted to the bike, does it use a different ignition pick up etc?

my 309 is suffering with black chocked up spark plug after little use, any ideas anyone, also can anyone tell me what spark plug I should be using as the previous owner dogged the wrong one in, I`m also not sure how much fork oil I should put in, I`ve been told 240cc per leg, but they seem to be leeking and I`ve just had new fork seals. one more thing, I`ve put 100cc of two stroke oil in 5 litres of optimax, is this right or could it be contributing to the spark plug fowl? Any input would be great cheers.

Hi , looking at a bike just now , its a 125 Fantic section . The bike starts fine and will tick over but wont take throttle , have been told there is no cdi just pick up and coils? have done all the usual carb clean , air leaks etc. Now its begining to get annoying could the power valve give these symptoms. Is there a site for info on the section anywhere. Thanks for looking.

My mate has just bought an air cooled Fantic that we were told was a 307. It certainly looks like one as it has been painted reddy orange and white. However on closer inspection it looks like the tank used to be flourecent yellow and the mudguards were blue! This would suggest to me that it may be a 309 (1991 model) but is there anyway we can find out for certain? Are there any differences between the 2 models (307 and 309) apart from colour? Hi all. i have a 240 fantic mid strip down and was wondering if anyone knows if the frame, where the swingarm spindle passes through, is threaded. Or is the spindle simply seized solid, as it will not budge (not even with heat, wd40 soaking etc.) The reason i ask is that the spindle nut seems very narrow. Does anyone out there know before i get the irish screwdriver (large hammer) out........again!! cheers
