OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Hi all first post so hellooo.... I would like to get into the trials scene as I have recently bought my daughter a torrot and going anywhere with her on my ktm is a big no no these days so I am looking at getting the oset 24 but i am a little worried that being 6ft 2 it will be a bit small, is there anyone else this tall who has one? Are they ok and what mods can be done to make it ok for us lanky folk? I am in the weight limit so that is not a problem and I will also be getting a better battery for it so I'm just concerned about them being too small. Cheers ?

HI all, Havent had a real CLOSE look at the grips on my daughters bike yet, but just wondered are they easy enough to change? At a glance, the throttle one seems to be all one unit, with the electric gizmo/charging light bit? Would like to change them coz the original seems so big for my daughters hand, and no grip on them. Gonna try to put renthals on there. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Evening all. Has anyone had experience of servicing the 48v Oset motor? The bike is a 2016 20.0 racing. I have noticed the bearings getting noisy and from reading comments by a couple of the electric bike gurus on this forum it sounds as if there may be dirt/damage inside. While slowly rotating the back wheel with chain still attached there is quite noticeable points of increased resistance. I have seen that i can purchase bearings and brush set from Oset for quite a sensible price and currently deciding weather to strip the motor and give it a service or send it away to someone more familiar with the inner workings. Has anyone done it yet? I have a 20" and it is absolutely amazing. It has way more power than an 80cc bike, great suspension and light weight. For my previous electric bike builds I have a bunch of 6s1p and 3s1p packs. Oset US turned me on to a drop in solution that uses Lifepo4s packaged as a direct replacement for Osets. They even sell them in a kit with batteries and charger. They are very cool as they have a battery management system built in so they are as easy to charge as the standard Oset SLAs. Hi all just wondering just purchased a oset 16 36 v brilliant bit a kit for my boy he loves it but noticed the charger is flashing red and yellow is this normal and is there a fast charger I can buy or a battery upgrade for longer riding many thanks Dan

Hi I’m looking for any information I can to help me take a oset 16 and then adding oset 20 wheels,what else will I need to change,will I need to change front forks? many thanks.

Hope you can help. I have a 48v 20" that has 1 damaged battery. I want to charge the other three, can this be done on the bike with the 48v charger or is that a bad idea? If I get the three charged will it run (even if at lower power) just to show the motor works before I sell it? Thanks

I read this the other day. It has some interesting info about available upgrades that can be made to the bikes on Page 5. 2 days later my lad decided to ride off the edge of a large hump, coming down the steap side rather than the gentle slope he had ridden up. Despite me shouting BRAKES he went into a stone wall and managed to shorten the wheelbase by about an inch - oops! Fortunately no damage to son or bike apart from the forks. Hello everyone. My boy has had his oset 16 since he was 3 and rides it well. We went to take it out the other day and noticed no power, quickly located to the fuse carrier had a loose connection but on reinstalling everything I snapped one of the potentiometers for the speed, I have installed a new one and it all tests out fine ie 20k ohms for full turn and 0 ohms when in the lowest position. The potentiometer seems to work fine but will only allow 13v output to the motor not the full 36v it should be. Does anyone have any ideas or have experienced the same issues? Many thanks

Hi, got the oset out the other day, its been sat in the shed for 6 month and its been really cold here in the UK, tried charging them and the green light comes on to say there done after a few mins, took both batteries out and stuck them on my optimate 4 one by one for around 12 hours each and still nothing, no lights, no click of the relay, nothing, checked all the wiring too. The batteries are 4 year old so they could do with been replaced anyway but just want to make sure there dead and its not something else, so any tests I can do on the batteries with the multimeter ? I've never used it before.

took ryan out on sunday for a bit of practice ready for this weekends oset cup.After 5 mins the motor started smoking then just stopped dead, stripped it down there was more mud and crap in there than was on the field, anyway cleaned it all out left to dry for a couple of days then rebuilt last nite everything was working fine till this morning, again 5mins on bike it's started smoking again he's only been on tarmac since. everything looks fine any ideas what it could be?? don't fancy it stopping after a couple of sections and having a bad tempered 4 yr old on saturday

Had a look through earlier posts and can't see what I'm looking for. As my Oset charger has now stopped working is it ok to individually charge each pack off the bike. I think the batteries are toast anyway, as on both types of charger they only last about 40 mins with steady use. Any recomendations where to buy batteries in the UK as the Oset ones seem expensive?

Has anyone tried the lighter rear spring available on eBay for the 20R ? The stock one seems a bit stiff just wondering if anyone has some feedback thanks

Bought an Oset 24.0R to ride with my grandson. Nice and quiet so I can talk to him when he rides. It's a lot of fun but not a replacement for a gas bike. At least not for a heavy adult. i raised the handlebars and put a wider rear tire on the rear. Mostly just to make it look "right".

Hi can anyone help me to understand which bearings would fit the rear of a circa 2010 Oset 16 24v. The rear bearings have just fallen out and they were the semi encased push bike type ones - shot to pieces now. Fell out when i replaced the sprocket and chain. But i would like to know if the current size bearings for a 16 would fit or does anyone know a hack or suitable replacement for the 24v 16. Keen to get the bike running again. Hi, My lad is nearly 4 and the 12.5 is looking a bit small. I don't really want to our faze him by moving him to a bike too big for him. I tried using the adjustable stearing head from my bicycle but it didn't just raise the handle bars it also move them forward quiet a lot which seemed to have a drastic effect on the bike's geometry. I think he'll be ready around Xmas time to move up, but until then does anyone have any ideas how to make his 12.5 bigger and therefor easier for him to ride?
