I started to build my daughter's 16" Oset up to a 20" about 6 months ago. Then I heard that Oset was coming out with the 20" so I decided to wait patiently for it. However, I just can't wait any more. She is getting too big and Oset doesn't have a firm date or price for the 20. I hate to do it as I am a huge fan of Oset, but my daughter is really getting into trials and this summer is the perfect opportunity for her to do a bunch of riding, but the 16 is now way too small and underpowered. Hi All, New here so first of all Hi! I'm into DH and Enduro MTB so know very little about trials so please be gentle. I've just picked up well used MY15 20R which needs a bit of TLC but at least most of the bits are cycle parts so easy to work on. On my list of things to do is bearings, replacing with some good quality SKF or Enduro. After much googling and an e-mail to Oset who haven't replied yet, I've drawn a blank as to sizes - found some info but it's conflicting. I'd rather know sizes before I start replacing to minimise new toy out of service so if anyone can remember what sizes the various bearings are: wheel, swing arm, motor, etc. that wo…

I've got a 2012 Oset 16 24v that my youngest has now started riding. I'm about to invest in a boost bikes battery to reduce the weight and give him extra riding time but I've got a question about the electrics. Is it possible to upgrade the electrics to those on the newer bikes to get the more flexible speed /power/ throttle response controls and the magnetic cut out?

I find these forums a great source of valuable information, and wanted to add with my review of the first 6 months of my OSET knowledge. I have a girl (5yo) and a boy (8yo). Hi, new to the forum and trials, from more an Enduro / Green laning background. Bought a 2nd hand Pre 2015 Oset 16 36v for my boys Christmas present, seems to run ok, but the part of the harness highlighted in yellow in the image is broken and not connected. It looks like an in-line fuse to me, but also looks to be in a useless loop. Could someone let me know what it is please as I likely don't have time to order a wiring harness mail order before Christmas, but could repair it. Although as stated it runs, so don't know if it's part of something else, charging maybe? I've tried looking at the wiring diagrams online, but it doesn't appear clear, at least to me. …

I´m not sure if i´m straying too far off-topic but i Intend to use it as a "Trailbike" ;-) Anyway.. Building an E-BMX seems like a neat Winters project so any advice on how to build one is welcome. Available parts, sofar. An old BMX 20" 24 V 350W Brushed DC Motor With a 25A Controller in good condition. 90 T sprocket, front is 11 T #25 Chain(Same as on the small OSET´s). 2* 12V 9Ah SLA batteries(Same casing as the normal 7.2 Ah´s).

Got an Oset 12.5 for my son (4), followed soon after by an Oset 20 for myself. Which the wife then appropriated Anyway, am having some difficulty adapting to the clutchless electric thing. Plus the 20 is very potent.. My reflexes feel too slow and my muscle memory too deep to adjust easily. I've had a few "whiskey throttle" incidents, especially when attempting standing wheelies. I have an early Oset 16 for my boy and the throttle response is awfull when the batteries are fresh. He rode his first oset trial yesterday and all of the other kids bikes were smooth and progressive where his was just plain uncontrollable. I have been reading that the Kelly controller might be the best option but I have also been looking at other 36V E=bike controllers available at a fraction of the price. Any thoughts?

Hi, Need some help with my son's 12.5r, the bike will run perfectly for about 30mins after that the power will keep cutting in and out, have recently done a lipo conversion and there is still plenty of juice left in the batteries when the cutting starts, any ideas? Thank you.

The Stratford-Upon-Avon Club will be running a Saturday afternoon trial specifically for Conducted riders with class D and the NEW CLASS E licences. The trial will take place at Saintbury Quarry near Broadway on Saturday 19th June starting at 2pm. There will be two routes on offer with trophies presented on the day to the best rider on each route. The emphasis on the event is to provide a FUN afternoon with sections suitable for the smallest young trials riders away from the distractions of a normal club trial. Newbie here, just joined forum. Just purchased brand new OSET 12.5 for my little 4yr old boy for christmas, he did have PW50 last year with stabilisers but had so many crashes due to the stabiolisers he ended up too scared to ride it so ended up selling it. He had a quick try out on oset 12.5 and loved it so used the money from the pw and some extra for xmas and purchased a new one. He has all the clothing and boots from when he had pw but would like to purchase a childs trials helmet as the one he has is an mx full face helmet, does anyone in south west area sell them as i would rather him try it on than guess and buy one from the internet. I bought a used Oset at the weekend for my son. Its a 12.5 model. I put it on charge and let him have a bit of a go out the front of our house as its very quiet. After a few minutes the bike would barely pull him up a small hill in the road. I put it on charge when we got in and it was on for about 8 hours but the red LED on the charger never turned green to say it was fully charged. I took it off charge and lifted the back wheel whilst I turned the throttle. I held it for about 30 seconds and you could hear the wheel gradually turning slower. The following day I left it on charge over night and still no green light. Do you recon the battery needs replacing? When I lifte…

Apologies that this topic is not specifically Oset related but I figured I'd get the best response and feedback on the Oset forum. Whilst at the WTC this weekend saw loads of the kids riding on the Oset and wondered where the best place is to get trials clothing for a 4 1/2 year old. Looks like the Fox Pee Wee boots are best bet, especially in infant size 10 but what about trousers / shirt?? My son has the Wulf gear already but I saw MOTS, Fox and clice (among others) being worn. Can as Oset rider (or parent) advise where you can get gear this size?? Seen a few places selling Fox MX kit which looks fine but give b*gger all info on sizing other than 'youth small' etc…

Having electrical problems with my lads 12.5 and need some expert advice! Here's the story so far.... The problem is that the drive is very weak and juddery and only a small amount of load on the rear wheel causes it to stall, i.e no torque. My initial thought was the motor brushes. Bike is a 2011 model and has been well used so would make sense. I've had the motor to bits before to do bearings so I set off down the route of checking these. However, I decided to direct wire the motor to the batteries before stripping it - this resulted in the motor spinning up nicely and with loads of torque so I didn't progress the motor strip. Hello - I just purchased a new OSET 12.5 for my nearly 4 yo son (and apparently just under the wire - as the website no longer sells the 12.5). I was wondering what kind of grips to purchase, what size and how to install them. My son's hands are kind of small and reaching brake levers has always been difficult. I have just bought an Oset 20.0 Eco for my son. I think it is quite strange that Oset doesnt offer any Lithium batteries so now I am looking for a new battery. LiPo seems popular here on the forum but I had a LiFePo4 36v 20Ah on the previous 16.0 that I was very pleased with. Looking at the very skillfull boys in videos like this: makes me wonder; what batteries are those guys using?

My daughters 20r seems to have developed an annoying intermittent fault, she has complained that it has seemed to very occasionally lose power for an instant and we put this down to a dodgy on/off switch (now renewed). After a very wet and muddy practise last weekend I washed the bike off and dried it but found that the bike's throttle was sticking (it snapped back but the motor kept going?) After checking all the connections and cleaning them and putting dielectric grease on them the bike had no power, it ran as if the battery was flat before coming back to life. This has happened a few times now - Any ideas?
