OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Our 4 year old has been riding his 12.5 since he was 3. This spring, for the first time, we noticed that he was looking a little big on the 12.5, at least when he stands up. Finally, a few weeks ago, my wife mentioned that she had turned the speed to full, and he was still looking like he wanted more. Owen was at the door when the UPS man knocked, and when he saw that big box, he was excited just to figure out what was inside. I gave him the packing slip and asked him to see if he could recognize any words... "Daddy, that says OSET, they make my motorcycle!" As soon as I pulled the front wheel out of the box, I realized how high quality the components are - I am real…

  2. I recently purchased from Facebook marketplace a 2010 OSET 16 24v. I think? The controller has a born on date of 2010. I bought a 48-72v step down to 24v 40a converter. I use a ego 56v batteries which can put out 50amps. It works fantastic, with a little better performance then stock due to lithium battery. My question is, is there anyone with experience putting more volts to the controller then 24v? Looking to get a little more out of it's performance. Thank you again for all the support. I didn't even think I would get an answer. I got a discussion! Gonna stick with what it is setup as now. Hope he hits a growth spurt soon.

Has anyone gone from 24v to 36v ? My son is 8 and has been riding his 16.0 24v for more then 2 years. He rides well but finds it hard to lift the front wheel. Does the 36v. have much more torque making it easier to lift the front wheel ? Thanks.

Hi guys, I have just bought a new oset 24r, the standard Sram brakes on my bike are shockingly poor, I appreciate they are brand new discs and pads and will need to bed in, just wondering how long you guys took to get any power in them to pull a stoppie or to generally lock the brakes on? Or if anyone has the same problem or some tips?

  7. I need to replace the encoder on a TXP‑24 due to false high temperature alarm. When replacing the encoder, one needs to calibrate it to the motor (Function 24) according to this youtube video by Oset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jGKsitIyMI&list=PLXQxIfDz8sKiBnStlqqGt1Pi45bGQdjlH&index=14 Oset do not sell this tool to end users unfortunately. This is a blocker for users located in remote places. Has anyone managed to DIY this step?

I have a breakdown in the promax brake caliper, which are not sold separately and have the characteristic of using dot 4. Because of this, several scenarios present themselves to me. 1. Get an AVID JUICY clamp that is in good condition and enter dot 4. 2. repair the one I have, but I don't think it will work. 3. Change the entire system of both wheels for shimano. Has anyone had to change the brake system?

I know some people thinking of getting their young son an Oset as I have suggested it may be more suitable than a petrol engined bike.. They have no mechanical knowledge and may get problems from neigbours etc with noise from a petrol engined bike as well as starting difficulty and risk of burns. Anyone any general comments on Oset reliability or other factors that they should know What is run time on a charge How long do batteries last Do batteries loose capacity / running time after a year or two old Cheers

Ok I have just bought my son a 16 racing and want a spare set of batteries, can't really justify buying a boost battery at the moment, can anybody point me to some decent standard batteries online? Thanks.

Hi All, My son has a Oset 20 Racing, I believe it’s a 2016. He’s been competing in schoolboys events for approx. 6 months on the bike, the club has acquired a new piece of ground which has more hills. We went to a trial last Saturday at this new venue. When my son opened the throttle the bike accelerates as it should and he was carrying enough speed to easily reach the top, but when he’s nearing the top of the hill the bike completely cuts out, no power at all and he falls off, when I picked him up the bike worked completely as normal. All it needed to "reset" was to close throttle. The bike did this on every largish hill for the next 4 sections, event…

Hello guys, I bought a new "upgrade" chain kit for my 2011 oset 16". So bigger chain. The shop confirms me its OK but I doubt that there is to much play between chain and chainring. The owner isn't in till next week so I cant double check with him. Could any of you please check if it is the same on a new model Oset 16"? See pic and movie https://youtu.be/nnnaTCFe8kc Big thanks!

Ok so bought my son I used oset 16 racing yesterday, after we got home he spent a good hour or so riding so I put the bike on charge, standard bartteries and charger, went to it this morning and I could smell the batteries, anyway they are now dead hot and swollen up, surely the charger would cut off when they are full? Is this my fault for leaving them on too long or a battery or charger error?

  17. Morning. Were experiancing a 30% power loss on our oset 20R across the board Id like to check the motor by powering it directly from the battery. How do we do that. There are 2 leads from the motor. Which one goes to the live which ones goes to the earth. Or if thats not how you do it, how do you check it is operating correctly. Fault. We upgraded to lithium batteries as the old lead ones had started to loose charge quickly and at that time noted the bikes top speed was around 16-17 mph and bike revved well . We upgraded to lithium and the speed increased to 19mph and low and high end torque also improved. However we pulled the bike out for a ride after putting i…

I bought my grandson a Spyder 16.0 when Ian first started importing them into the USA. My grandson rode it for a few hours and took a spill and the battery pack came out (we didn't have it properly secured). Since then, it blows the 20 amp main fuse whenever we try to connect the battery. Any idea where to look first? Dick

I am hoping this will be obvious to someone but I can't figure what the power dial does? I got the new oset 20 home yesterday first ride and my 9 yo daughters straight away asking for all the dials to be turned up. Now at 100% on speed switch. The lower setting is 75% apparently. The "uptake" dial at half way so the throttles not too snappy (this is great feature) The power dial is a mystery. Same speed and acceleration when twisted low or high? What is it supposed to do? I am worried its broken as the bike is not as crazy a i heard they were. No power wheelies here or scared kid at full throttle. I recon my modded 16 running on 33.6v lipo is as quick. Any pointers …
