Hi, our charger for our Oset 36v with standard batteries went wrong this weekend. rather than spend £££ on an Oset charger I wondered if anyone could advise me if this charger will work, the connection looks similar https://www.amazon.co.uk/Midi-Electric-Scooter-Battery-Charger/dp/B01MYGEF4P/ref=asc_df_B01MYGEF4P/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=339416778147&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18044449944747767940&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006986&hvtargid=pla-697315607728&psc=1 or does anyone know where I can get a charger that will charge our bike? thanks for any…

  3. Purchased used OSET 16 36v from a dealer in pittsburgh that was virtually brand new, not a scratch on it. From the onset the batteries longevity and strength didn't seem juth ast right. Son has ridden bike (he's 6 and around 50 lbs with potentiometer fully open) probably 8-10 times. Longest ride until batteries ran out was just under an hour mostly tight trials stuff with a few wide open jaunts through the field. On to my problem, he rode bike last week and charged bike till green light and removed charger last week. Sat until yesterday when he went to ride, he turned on key and batteries were dead (one red dot on throttle). I just assumed he left key on so I went …

  4. Hi guru's. Last weekend the motor started making a kind of grumble/snatchy noise once the motor had gotten hot. Switch it off, Have a cuppa, let it cool and all fine again. The bike is just over 18 months old and still running same bearings so I figured it was time to swap them. I have removed the Motor, pulled the sprocket off. Removed the drive side casing and then with lots of swearing and clever use of welding gloves and an inner tube, removed the housing. My problem is that now can't seem to remove the non drive side casing to access the other bearing. How do I remove this side?. I can see the brushes in place and the (stator plate?).. I can see down to the bearing, …

**Update - Boost Bikes battery serviced the battery at a cost of £135, after one charge the battery was worse than ever and the owner has basically told me tough luck - for a £900 battery after 2 1/2 years is very poor considering the original battery is still perfroming well** Howdy folks, Recently got my Oset and it came with the Boost Battery and the original, but I am disappointed with the Boost Battery range. When fully charged it seems to get to around 56v but the bike cuts out after what I think isn't long enough given the reviews I've read online. I measured the voltage and it still at 51v? If I measure the actual OSET 48v battery, it was still pr…

I was hoping someone was still active on this Site and had some advice to help get my Grandsons bikes ready. The Oset website has little info and seems to be not updated. Can someone help find a online manual or print version for a 16r and 20r.? Specifically I'm looking for info regarding the three adjustments (what they control) located on the backbone of the frame. I also would like to understand the suspension adjustments on the forks as well. If there is a active Oset online community that I'm missing please point me in the right direction. Regards, NJtrials

I have an oset 20 and the batteries only last 30 mins. I'd like to upgrade them but I'm unsure what to buy, what are the recommended upgrade choices?

  8. One of the best upgrades you can make to your Oset is to replaces the sealed lead-acid batteries with LiPos. A LiPo (lithium-ion polymer battery) is an evolution of lithium-ion batteries where the electrolyte is basically held in plastic rather than a solvent. LiPos allow you to shave a lot of weight and to reduce charge time dramatically. While the benefits are impressive, they do not come free. Lipos have significant risks and require a higher level of technical competence and attention than the stock batteries do. If you are not somewhat technical, willing to learn, and willing to put some extra attention into the care and maintenance of the bike then stop here and e…

HI all you Oset fans, I'm THINKING of buying an Oset for my daughter, (if I can find a used one within my budget). Of course I'm aware of all the advantages..BUT,..i have this nagging doubt that you dont get as much for your money as you could with a used petrol TXTboy50 for example?? Another concern is, if buying a used one....how long (in months/years of average use) could you expect a battery to last?..and if it needs replacing, is it very expensive, and easily available??...cant find any price for a new battery on the net. Any ideas or opinions would be gratefully received. THanks

My boy Max has been riding his 16" Oset since March. He is 7 yrs old and weighs 50lbs with gear. Running the potentiometer wide open only delivers roughly 1.5 hrs ride time. We bought a spare battery from Ian and his support has been top notch. What are others finding for battery life? My boy loves the bike and rides it all the time.

If anyone is considering fitting any guards , I can recommend carbon fibre items from KELLEY CARBON . All hand made in the UK . NOT the cheap ABS plastic that cracks and shatters just looking at it !

Can anyone shed some light on what the 3rd pin on the Oset charger does. I see there is no voltage on the charger when unplugged but once plugged in, there must be some comms over that 3rd pin that enables the charger output. Any ideas?

The boys oset 12.5 24v was charging while I was working on my bike, it's a std oset running yuasa batteries which charges by pluggjng into the bike. Anyway, I was wearing shorts and my leg brushed really, really lightly on the footrest and I could feel the electrical current. When I tried it with the palm of my hand I couldn't feel anything, it could be felt using the back of my hand. Is this normal? If not, what may be causing the problem

  17. Good morning guys. a note for any adults or big kids considering an Oset for them self. I have followed the development of the Oset bike for some years now, mostly with a tear in my eye thinking "where were these when i was 8". However, after seeing videos of some guys who are obviously not 8-12 years old, doing some incredible stuff on them i figured i needed one. 3 months in and i am glad i did. Now, i am not a teenager, not even in my 20's, and i am nowhere near the stated weight limit so obviously the moment i stood on it the warranty was pretty much gone. But that really isn't an issue. these are so well built. The only modifications i have had to carry out are…

Hi all i have greased the swinging arm bushes on my sons oset and am intending getting a lighter spring for the shock off the oset website to make the rear suspension more suitable for his weight. However Oset dont list softer springs for the forks anyone managed to soften them as i would like to make both front and rear softer.

  19. Hi, Has anyone tried the above on a Mecatecno? Mecatecno only do the standard teeny-tiny chain which Adam has just snapped. The logical choice seems the heavy duty Oset one but looking to see if 1: the sprocket fits and 2: the chain is the right length for a. Mecatecno. Trials UK were very helpful but couldn't guarantee either fit. Or correct chain length. Anyone know anything?
