OSET Electric Trials Bikes

I need help. Live in New Zealand, ordered what I was told was a new OSET 12.5 for my 4 year old's birthday, well the bike arrived 2 days before weekend, I unpacked box and put batteries on charge, I could tell it'd been stored for some time. I headed off to work. Friday afternoon, set about fully assembling bike, all good except I couldn't get it to run!. The batteries charge when connected. The key clicks the relay, but no lights on twist throttle. Get a voltage tester out, strip down the bike - seats and covers etc. Can trace voltage into the Controller 24v, and up to twist throttle 24v ( 2 wire connecter), 4.5 v from 3 wire connecter. Hi all - We just picked up one of the 12.5" models for our 3 year old after months (and months and months) of searching for a gently used bike. The rear tire is flat and needs a new tube, I know Oset sells 'em on their site, but I was hoping to get one at a local bike shop and not wait for shipping. That said, I don't know what tube to get - there are multiple widths available...12.5 x 1.75, 12.5 x 2.25, 12.5 x 2.5...etc. I know the rim width is 2.4"...not sure which tube to get. Hi, after breaking a couple of controllers in the process I’ve now completed a Kelly Controller installation on an OSET 16.0 24V. The problems I had were down to my wiring connections so hopefully this thread will help anyone considering the mod and avoid them making the same mistakes. I have focused on the wiring here as it’s what caught me out. I’ve not added much info on the controller or batteries so ask me questions if needed or look at the other threads that discuss them. Hi New to the forum and indeed to the world of off road bikes but having tired a little of road riding I am about to take the plunge myself and have just done so for my son. I have just bought an Osset 16" for my sons fifth birthday and am after some advice/thoughts on helmet choice. Having looked through the galleries, there seems to be a mix of bicycle, open and motocross full face helmets. I am leaning away from the bicycle style as they offer less protection around the side of the head, though they are light, comfortable and least obtrusive. Hi just got my lad a oset 16 fully charged it up all 3 lights on the throttle grip after a bit he stop I noticed it went on to 2 red lights and lost power fast but never went down to 1 red light is this right thanks

That is the question, I can not decide so please help if you had similar problem when choosing the first bike for your child. He is on his second push bike already on "16 wheels. Prefers to rides bigger now. He will hold the weight of oset16 when stationary at the shop, but not sure he will manage in slow turns or over obstacles. 12.5 seems too small but sales person at the shop advice is to get 12 for him for one year. Unfortunatelly can not find anywhere he could try both near London. He was on Kuberg trailE at bike show but that was too tall.

After reading a few other posts on this topic I understand there are a few niggles with the oset throttle control. My problem though sounds a bit different to others who have posted. Having adjusted the 'throttle response' adjuster throughout it's range; when the throttle is chopped the bike continues to pull or drive forward for anything between 1 and 4 to 5 seconds depending on 'throttle response' adjuster setting. Having had the oset 12.5 with an ordinary petrol engine type throttle response my 5 year old has found his new bike uncontrollable and to be honest unrideable. Can anyone confirm it has a fault or are there adjustments elsewhere not listed in the manual.

Hi there. I've just ordered a set of fork springs to fit in my son's Oset 16 Racing. Apparently they fit in the left hand air fork of the rst forks. They are supposed to soften the ride as the standard forks are a very hard ride even with minimal air in. Was wondering if anyone has done this modification themselves. Do you need to remove any of the existing fork internals on the left side before fitting the springs and what order do the springs go in ? Do they just sit one on top of each other ? I'm more than happy stripping down trials bike forks but oset forks are MTB forks and seem very different.

I need to purchase male and female throttle connector set used in the OSET24 bikes. A photo is attached for reference. Basically I need to work out a male to female (small extension lead) that would enable me to take throttle voltage measures for another project. Did anyone ever manage to source these connectors?

Hello, Anyone here has positive experience in recovering a LiPO batt with 1 defective cell? I read you have to charge it in NcCd function without the ballance connector. But I really have no tension at all in the dead cell. The dead cell is not swollen.... Shall I try or just recycle it.... Greets

Is @Andystill running the show?🤩 I bought a Mecatecno T08 for my 4 year old grandson, it came from an auction (unseen, impulse buy!) and has cleaned up really well for an old bike. Replaced both levers, unseized the front forks and cleaned all the electrical connections ready for two new 9.0Ah batteries, which are on order. The only things I need now are a charger and I believe it might be missing a return spring for the front brake. Hi all, Got the oset out this morning but the motor is totally seized. When it got put away everything was working perfectly, so strange that its now seized. Even with molegrips on the sprocket it wont budge Im guessing it a new motor, but anyone had similar? Ive never had a trials bike cost me as much as this Oset! Cheers Wayne.

hi all. I am fairly confident that i was not the only Oset owner wondering how the Kuberg challenger 24" compared. All of the media outlets in the uk give different specs for the bike and no one seemed to know the difference between the challenger 24" and the 20" so even comparing wheel sizes was near impossible. Well i have gotten my hands on one and i want to give people the information that has been missing so they can make an informed choice. Hi Being now the proud owner of a 12.5 and a 16 36V (for the boys you understand ) I am a bit confused over the charge indicators on the throttle. Having built them up and plugged the charger in, the light on the charger turned to green within 5 minutes, indicating a full charge. When you turn the bikes on, 3 lights on the throttle assembly turn red. Does this indicate full charge, or do the lights on the throttle go green? Another quick question, the grips don't appear too big for my children, but the brake levers on the 12.5 are tiny (length wise), are they just replacable with cycle parts as I would like to get similar length levers to the 16.
