OSET Electric Trials Bikes

I've got a 2012 Oset 16 24v that my youngest has now started riding. I'm about to invest in a boost bikes battery to reduce the weight and give him extra riding time but I've got a question about the electrics. Is it possible to upgrade the electrics to those on the newer bikes to get the more flexible speed /power/ throttle response controls and the magnetic cut out?

Hi everyone. My first time posting in this forum, excluding the one in introductions. Recently got into trials after 20 years of road riding. Got an Oset 12.5 for my son (4), followed soon after by an Oset 20 for myself. Which the wife then appropriated Anyway, am having some difficulty adapting to the clutchless electric thing. Plus the 20 is very potent.. My reflexes feel too slow and my muscle memory too deep to adjust easily. I've had a few "whiskey throttle" incidents, especially when attempting standing wheelies. Hi, Need some help with my son's 12.5r, the bike will run perfectly for about 30mins after that the power will keep cutting in and out, have recently done a lipo conversion and there is still plenty of juice left in the batteries when the cutting starts, any ideas? Thank you.

Hi all i have greased the swinging arm bushes on my sons oset and am intending getting a lighter spring for the shock off the oset website to make the rear suspension more suitable for his weight. However Oset dont list softer springs for the forks anyone managed to soften them as i would like to make both front and rear softer.

Have brought the Shenko “19” 3.50 back tyre to put on my 24 Oset haven’t fitted it yet and just wondering if I could have some thoughts on this the Shenko was $30.00 as opposed to $600.00 for the 17 inch wheel and wider trials tyre from Oset , I only use the bike for trials and it’s great but looses a bit of grip with stock tyre, would I be better off with the 17 from oset or the Shenko, the Shenko will change the gearing a bit !!!! Thoughts

My sons gasgas e12 only lasts about 20mins now, it's a year old and I'm guessing the batteries need re-newing. It's the 36v 16in model, I can get the same 3 batteries for £55 but would rather upgrade if possible, I've read the forum for the oset bikes does anyone know if the same can be done to the gasgas e12, obv I don't want to fry the motor. Also if I was to upgrade to lithium batteries, what's the best size, AH charger ect? Many thanks in advance

Hello Just got an Oset 20 for the kids. It has standard wheels and tyres. What pressures do you run at? Looks like no chance of running them at normal trials bike pressures. Thanks Dave

Little boy got brand new oset 12.5 for xmas and has prob only used for 2-3 hrs max (bloody english weather), its only been used on complete flat ground and never been dropped, the problem I have noticed is the mudguard and center rear wheel arent lined up? The chain and wheel all run true but it seems the left hand side swingarm is a mm lower than the right side so when you stand back and eye the line the wheel looks like it slightly tilts to the left(lower side). I took whole back assembly of and greased and loosened the swingarm pivot and whilst back wheel was off i placed a spirit level across width swingarm and right side is slightly higher, i then loosened the 4 nut/…

Can anyone tell me why this is happening with my sons MX10 I switch ignition off and it flicks on and off if I don’t take of the safety plug it just stays on empty even though the ignition is off

I need to replace the encoder on a TXP‑24 due to false high temperature alarm. When replacing the encoder, one needs to calibrate it to the motor (Function 24) according to this youtube video by Oset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jGKsitIyMI&list=PLXQxIfDz8sKiBnStlqqGt1Pi45bGQdjlH&index=14 Oset do not sell this tool to end users unfortunately. This is a blocker for users located in remote places. Has anyone managed to DIY this step?

Morning. Were experiancing a 30% power loss on our oset 20R across the board Id like to check the motor by powering it directly from the battery. How do we do that. There are 2 leads from the motor. Which one goes to the live which ones goes to the earth. Or if thats not how you do it, how do you check it is operating correctly. Fault. We upgraded to lithium batteries as the old lead ones had started to loose charge quickly and at that time noted the bikes top speed was around 16-17 mph and bike revved well . I bought my grandson a Spyder 16.0 when Ian first started importing them into the USA. My grandson rode it for a few hours and took a spill and the battery pack came out (we didn't have it properly secured). Since then, it blows the 20 amp main fuse whenever we try to connect the battery. Any idea where to look first? Dick

Hi, i have bought a second hand oset 16 36v spider for my daughter for Christmas. Taken her out on it and it seems really slow. On full throttle with the speed adjuster all the way up it goes walking pace. The guy I bought it from said the batteries were about 1.5 years old and it had been stood for about a year. They are lucas 12v 10ah batteries, i have tested the voltage in each battery after being fully charged and are showing to be 12.7v each. Tested the voltage just before motor on full throttle and its showing 37v. I've also taken the motor apart and tested for any signs of damage to the bearings and brushes. All seems fine. Could it be that they need new batte…

Hi All, First post here in the Oset forum. I had a 314Cota some time back, and was happy that my old username still worked. Does anyone know if any of the true mx / dirtbike tires will fit the width of the rims on a 12.5 Oset? The stock tires are great in the driveway and lawn, but we just cleared some area at the back of the yard that is pretty slick clay on all but the driest days. Open to thoughts - Thanks, Pete

Hi All My son got a OSET 12.5 (think it’s a 2010 model). The front fork is pretty stiff, and I was thinking on taking It apart, to do a bit of refurb on it. I do know that it’s just springs and no oil, but I still think I could do something (maybe change springs). But it does not seems like you can take the fork apart= Does any of you guys have any good advice – have any of you taken the bloody thing apart? Regards Thoams
