Hi, I know this seems strange, but what CC are Ossa MARs? I have one that I have used for a couple of years, and always assumed it was 250, but could it be a 350? It does seem to pull very well, so how can I tell, without measuring the Bore and Stroke. .

Hi all .. looking for some un-biased thoughts .. I have been looking to return to trials , and one of the bikes I have seen is a Ossa Tr280i , 2012-13 .. the bike seems to have had very little use , and has had two owners ,, the first owner had issues with the bike not running correctly and would go through plugs, so the bike wasn't used .. The second own was an older guy , and I had been told that the previous issue was to do with the fuel mapping , which had been corrected and so I'm told the bike is running good .. the second oner didn't ride the bike hard and put very few hours on it .. So now I have been thinking about buying the bike , I have look…

I bought a 2014 OSSA Explorer new as soon as that year was avliable. I’ve been riding the heck out of it ever since, some trials, mostly trails. Even some road. I have almost 400 hours on it, so I decided I’d better pop the cylinder off and check out the piston/rings/cylinder. (I also suspected I may have a head ‘O’ ring leaking a little). I couldnt’ believe how good it looked. I’ve seen 2-strokes with 40 hours look way worse. Hone marks still clean in the cylinder, no scoring, just a bit of ‘staining’. The piston looks great, a little blow by on the sides, none on the thrust faces at all. I have not measured the ring end gaps yet. The rings seemed to be a bi…

Hello, I am looking to do the upcoming Lands end trial on my 75 Ossa Mar. I will have to put lights on the bike for a full MOT. Can anyone help with some sort of simpe Wiring diagram. It currently runs with Motoplat Ignition which gives me 5 wires Black and Blue which are for the coil, But have not much idea which of the other wires to use for which lights. I have a green, red and white wires coming from the stator. Will i have to use some sort of A/C converter to stop the bulbs from blowing. I really don't want to run a battery. Any help would be great. Cheers, Ian

Hey I bought this bike in spring which is my first trials bike and I love the sport but I feel that I bought the wrong bike. After a handful of rides the bike started clicking while in gear, almost as if the bike wants to shift up. Even in neutral the bike clicks if you spin the countershaft. I removed the transmission and found some gears worn down and a chip off another. I sent the transmission to lewis sport but after a handful of rides it went right back to the same problem but now when shifting it sometimes doesnt click into gear properly. you can move the shifter up and down and it normally shifts cleanly but once and a while it gets stuck and you have to shift …

Hi I'm wondering if any has modified the rear brake on a Ossa Mar to remove the cable and convert into a direct link pull. If so how is this done and does it improve the rear brake action at all. Many thanks

Hi just seeing if anyone can tell me how the air box is bolted to the frame, do the bolts go through the side panel then through the air box cover and then through the air box itself. It’s hard work trying to get this bike back together with no manual lol. Thanks Martin

well solved the clutch slip/kickstart issue, put it all together and started to kick it over when the kickstart went all floppy again. Damn i thought its the springs again but no this time the kickstart knuckle has cracked through so it cant grip!! InMotion have it listed but out of stock, has anyone ever found an alternative that fits, tried all my ductai/benelli ones to no avail, or know of a source of knuckles.

Hi, just changed the clutch springs in my MAR for new ones and now the kickstart doesn't turn the engine, and there is a nasty spring recoil noise, seems to be return spring noise, have checked that there is plenty of free play in cable and that the new springs are tensioned up enough, any ideas, am going to refit original springs but seems like the rachet is no longer engaging. would rather not have to split cases. Thanks for any advise

Had engine completely rebuilt by Steve a couple of years ago, all good. I am now getting quite a few neutrals. Is the re-shim as evil a job as it looks, and if so who does a good job before I try to collar Steve again? Thanks

The bike is together, and now has a bit of ride time around the yard. No issues, and very pleased with it. When I went to buy spark plugs weeks ago, I thought I got the correct one. I searched the internet quickly and found recommendations from heat range 8 to 5. I read that BP6ES was correct, and it did cross reference to the ages old Champion N9YC I removed. I now suspect, having seen other references to BP7ES being correct. I have pretty much ruled out the heat range 5 and 8. So, for a 1973 MAR 250, is it a NGK BP6ES or BP7ES? Ready to get the jetting fully sorted out, and prefer to do it on the truly correct plug.
