Hi I have water in my gear oil. I have the water pump out. I think the bike is 2013. There is a circlip behind the drive gear which was tricky to remove. It was suggested that I change the pump seal, although the problem could be somewhere else. How do I remove the impeller? Does anyone know the seal part number? Is the seal a common part? Thanks in advance. Andy Chalkley

Hi Guys I am rebuilding my OSSA. It never had a rear brake cable when I got it. I have the rear brake cable with the nipple one end and adjuster thread the other. I seem to be missing some parts like a 9mm barrel for the thread to pass through and a nut for adjustment. Can anybody advise? See attached pictures for frame and hub cable fitting points. Thanks Gordy

Quick question, are OSSA still trading? Havnt seen anything on recent videos on youtube from anyone. Obviously there are no OSSA riders in X Trials but also dont see any at amature level videos either.

Hello again, Some more questions if you guys don’t mind.. I’ve got the manual and I’ve searched the forum but am still unsure about a couple of things. Firstly I’ve got an MK1 ( I think) with MK1 engine ( number M -342454) I’ve found the gasket and seal kit on the inmotion website but it only shows one set / option for a MAR 250 with no reference to production years. Are all 250 mar engines identical? I could be totally wrong but I seem to remember seeing reference to a smaller crank on the early MAR on a US website.Just wanted to double check before ordering . Im also a bit confused on the rear brake cable routing.. the ma…

  9. My TR280i came with those short custom made levers installed by the previous owner: I really like the feel on them and after also doing some research those are very custom made levers made by Finnish premium manufacturer, you can't even buy them anywhere (special order only). Aside from very good feel what I really like about them is they don't pressure all of my fingers like the normal long levers do (and especially annoying and loss of feel when the lever messing with my wedding ring, but with those Take-Pajas are perfectly designed for 1 or 2 finger use without touching the third or forth when pushed down) But makes me a…

  10. Well, my wife had a dash on me TRi yesterday and boom, it suddenly locked up. Thankfully while working on low RPMs. Turned out one of the 5 gearbox fixing bolts vibrated loose and did this: The little fecker who's fault it all was is in the front in two bits. "Thankfully" it only damaged the crownwheel, if there were high-RPMs the damage could have been way more catastrophic or even engine career-ending: OSSA doesn't sell it separately, hence you should buy a complete new gearbox. Thankfully Joa has found me a s/h one that they can hopefully replace the clutch basket crownwheel with. Be sure to locktite those gearbox fixing bolts! Do not over…

well solved the clutch slip/kickstart issue, put it all together and started to kick it over when the kickstart went all floppy again. Damn i thought its the springs again but no this time the kickstart knuckle has cracked through so it cant grip!! InMotion have it listed but out of stock, has anyone ever found an alternative that fits, tried all my ductai/benelli ones to no avail, or know of a source of knuckles.

Hi there, Anyone know where i can get a spanner to adjust the spring on the rear shock. Don't like the idea of using a hammer and screwdriver or a hammer and a piece of wood! I find the rear shock really softens up too quick. I am not heavy <75 kg but find it bottoms out way too easy! Thanks

Hi all I'm restoring a TR77 that I was given as a box of bits (and so have no knowledge of set up...). My Clymer manual tells me that the Ossa has electronic ignition, although the points and condensor set-up on my bike suggest otherwise! I've fitted new points and condensor and now need to set the points gap and timing. The back plate has a clear timing mark that lines up with the crankcasings, so I set it at this position. I then set the points gap to 15 thou, and this opened the points at around 2.2mm BTDC. I searched the internet and found suggestions of anywhere between 2 and 3.5mm BTDC, and a points gap of 40 thou seemed a common theme. So, what works be…

Hi all I'm restoring a TR77 that I got as a box of bits. Attached is a photo of my old front sprocket, and the new one supplied by InMotion. The InMotion one is much wider, and if I fit it, the sprocket nut sticks off the end of the shaft and is almost touching the outer casing. The thinner older one fits perfectly. InMotion told me that they only sell the wide one for Ossas and this is the correct one. Is the TR77 different to the MARs? Any ideas why this is wrong for my bike? The spacer behind the sprocket (that the oil seal runs on) is the correct 11.5mm thickness.

Hi there, First time using the forum and I’m looking for a bit of help with my Ossa. My dad and I acquired it many years ago and it was our intention to get it back to working order and maybe use it for the odd trial. My dad passed away before we got round to it so now I’m going to have a go myself. My dad was an engineer and knew the history of the bike. I’m ok with routine maintainance and minor repairs having owned modern MX bikes but have never done a restoration on a classic so it’s a bit beyond my experience/ skills. The bike is currently dismantled in boxes etc and has been like this for years im probably going to get the engine rebuilt profes…
