Hi, just stripped the first fork leg ready for new seals.....the `oil` that came out was disgusting, thin, watery and smelly!! Is the screw always a pig to remove? (still haven`t got it out yet but haven`t tried with a vengance) The spring measures 17", is this the correct length? And how much new oil goes in, what grade? Sorry but the bike is a Mk2, 1974ish. Cheers, basketcase.

Almost my only compliant about my Explorer is the rear linkage. It is probably just fine for most trials- but I ride it a lot and in a lot of mud and water. Those bushings are ok if you take the thing apart a lot- but I'd rather have something a little more robust and with zerk fittings. Anyone looked at coming up with something else? Or no issue for anyone else? Bearings and zerks would be nice. Even just zerks would be ok, since I could hit it every ride. Mark

Hi all My Clymer manual for the Ossa MAR says to use a new gasket on the crankcase halves, grease the surfaces and to NOT use any gasket glue. How well does this seal? What are your experiences? The gasket set I got from 'In Motion' seems very high quality so I can see why, and the surfaces are pretty good too. However, with a long history of working on leaking Brit bikes (and old Jap classics) I thought I'd ask.... Had to shim up the crank and gearbox too as the new gasket is about .25mm thicker than the old one. Fiddly, but it has to be done.

Hi, just bought a 2011 tr280i and want to mount lights and ossa dash... Have the original ossa dash (trailtech vapor with ossa logo) with 4 wires coming out. Dash works with CR2032 battery. Dash shows actual RPM (through labeled tach lead) when bike is running Power lead does not seem to work (14 volt from bike / dash backlight should be brighter when running ?) Two leads have no label : A 2 wire plug (this is to speedo sensor ?) A 4 wire ( 2 pins in the middle assigned from dash ) this is temp sensor. From the OSSA bike comes a 4 wire connector with 1 pin assigned (brown cable). It measures between 5 and 1 volt (drops when temp rises) between brown…

I found a barn fresh MAR with mostly original equipment and under 1250k fresh motor. It's worthy of a full restoration but I was looking for a cheap rider so I am bagging/boxing all the nice original bits and going to ride a season or two before doing the restoration. It's got spark, compression and carb is clean. It had no brakes or fuel tank so I hasn't been started. Rare find in these parts by barnstormerbikes, on Flickr Rare find in these parts by barnstormerbikes, on Flickr The bike had been stored with ethanol fuel and the tank was mush. I am using Caswell epoxy liner/ shell to remediate but not sure if it will work, assuming it will. I have already r…

I can't seem to find the info, so thought I'd ask. 2014 Factory 300. There are two maps- 1 and 2. What do the two positions do? Which is 'soft' and 'hard'? I see on some other maps they list which is which (or 'hard' and 'Road' etc), but the Factory one does not. Thanks Mark

I have a 72 OSSA MAR. When I look in the literature I have for 72 OSSAs (hard and electronic), they don't list the MAR. Which model is the closest to the MAR: Pioneer Plonker/Explorer Super Pioneer/Phantom Thanks, Jim

Hi there current OSSA Owners. I'm struggling with the decision to buy a little OSSA explorer...I test drove it, loved it, but have been advised by many against buying an OSSA. I'm trying to figure out how much of the negativity (i.e chews through gear box) is still lagging from the 2011/2012 issues and if folks that own newer (2013/2014) bikes still have problems. Truth is, if OSSA was still in business, I would possible even buy it with the transmission issue, I though it was one of the smoothest powered trials moto's I have been on (owned a Gas Gas 300, named the devil, a beta Rev 3 2003 and we also have a 2015 beta evo 200)....a bit difficult to start when …

Hi, I recently bought a 2011 tr280i. The bike looks in good condition but seems to shift into gear by itself while the engine is running. So I'm trying to pull the gearbox out to inspect. I got the five bolts out and have it in gear but it just doesn't seem to move with a tap on the output shaft. It seems like the clutch shaft is jammed somehow. It doesn't have a clutch fixer nut because it's 2011 so I really need some advice of how to remove it. Cheers.

This is a problem of my own making and ossa ignorance. I have recently had both the primary case and magneto cases off ; one to free off the clutch and the other to check the points. Whilst the case housing the magneto and gearbox sprocket was off I inadvertently leant the bike over onto its side and the clutch pin fell out which I found a few minutes later. Today when I went to rebuild the bike and sort out the clutch I remembered that the clutch from the engine lever to the cluch housing has a long pin, a ball bearing and then a second pin. I had lost the ball bearing. I had in stock some 1/4" cycle headstock bearings so I used one of them between the two pins. I could …

As above. These reusable clips or are they as with me doing jobs on this Ossa i have now refitted everything back together refilled fluids and have started the bike , fed up with the compression of this 2013 model , and now the two joints i had to unclip are now leaking. I had to drain the system manipulate and move pipes around and also reposition the clip a little and still they leak even left over night there are drips on the floor. Is it just my luck or are these really not reusable as i am getting fed up with things not working out with this bike. Ta

As per the title I need to get fluid into my rear brake master cylinder, but as Ossa decided to mount it vertically, it poses a problem, if you just wanted to pop the lid off and top up, just as you would with the Front Master cylinder. Do I need to Use a Syringe and fill from the bleed nipple on the caliper, or is there another way.?? Cheers

Well after a series of c0ck ups with powder coating colours and out of production factory decal kits it seems the facelift on my bike is very nearly complete. Here are a few pics of the FUTURE kit ... available from H&D Racing ... a bit different to the usual green but I'm loving it. The pics on the site don't do it justice and I was swithering before going for it so hopefully this will help someone else make a decision. Quality is great as is fit and cheap enough too

Anyone have any instructions how to maintain those Marzocchi forks on the newer Ossa TR-series? Mine's 2013 model with fairly good amount of usage, so thought about doing some maintenance on the forks. Haven't found any instructions how to open 'em Marzocchi aluminium forks, seal replacement, how much oil or any oil level marker on filling? Any info, photos or links on this would be highly apreciated! TIA, Margus

Hi there. The rear tyre on my OSSA MAR is a 4" Michelin and it fouls the exhaust can. Can anyone advise whether the WES silencers are 'stepped out' and would provide some more clearance or whether I'll need to make something. Ideas please folks. Thanks
