A friend has imported one of these and there's a chance I might be able to pick it up from him. My riding buddy says the red 303 is a late effort hodge podge of parts and that the transmission is a time bomb. I know very little about these bikes. Is the bike a museum piece? If the tranny is fragile, are there options?

Stupid question time .... How on earth do you remove the ECU from a 2013 onwards TR280 ( the ecu is mounted down by the cylinder ) . Do I need to remove the radiator first or am I missing something plainly obvious? Would like to make sure the plug is dry and fill with electrical grease but it's not nearly as simple as it first appears

Went to start my 350 TR 77 after a carburettor rebuild And because of a recent injury I can't kickstart it so I used a roller starter I noticed that the bike was backfiring on start up and wouldn't run .It was then I noticed that some of the back fire was between the head and the barrel so it definitely looks likely the head gasket is fubar.. sorry for the long post but how easy is it to fit a New gasket And is there anything that I should be aware of?? Many thanks Phil B

My son and I recently picked up a great deal on a running riding 74' Ossa MAR 250. Here we will post as we do the restore on it. The progress will be fast as we hope to have it ready for AHRMA at Donner this July. Now the bulk of the work is going to take place starting in June as we are moving at the end of the month and will start once we get in the new place. We will hit it hard for a month and the bike will be like new when done. I have attached a picture and video on the Ossa as it sat about 2 weeks ago.It runs perfect and sounds great. My son just putting it around for a shake down run. Stay tuned and glad I found this forum. Ossa Video of bike putting around

  10. The story of this OSSA is posted up in introductions...I am in the process of bringing this back to life. Unfortunately gas was left in the tank for a very long time and when I pulled the Amal 627 off to rebuild it was filled with goo...I'm assuming resin from the Fiberglass tank? I cleaned everything in a dip type carb cleaner and it looked pretty good. I put it all back together and using an auxiliary fuel tank I turned the petcock on tickled the carb and gave it a few kicks. Nothing. I gave it a quick shot of starting fluid and she fired up but bogs badly when I roll the throttle on. It seems like it wants to run on full throttle but bogs from partial to mid throt…

Triggered by a discussion in the GasGas forum: on an Ossa TR the rpm measurement is available from the ECU (according to documentation standard on CH1). Might be really simple to use that signal and transfer it to a digital display? Probably not really useful ( ) but could be a nice gadget. Did anyone ever consider it?

Clinton and his tech Matt did a great job last week in Brantford. My Ossa was running like crap and they did a great job getting things back the way they should be.I was ready to give up on it and buy something else.Sure glad i didn't! it starts 1st kick now and with the setup done on it,it is much more rideable.Even the clutch drag is better now because the idle is set properly.

Not used the bike for a couple of weeks, when it ran fine. Laid it up while I tended to the rear wheel bearing issue. Fixed that and thought I would just give it a lap or two round the garden. Started on the third kick then coughed and died.......Aha ! No fuel. Topped up with fresh fuel and tried to start but no joy. Took plug out, which was a bit sooty but not wet. After many kicks I got it to fire but it wouldn`t catch and rev. Eventually got it to run but sounded rough and like it was misfiring. It cleaned up a bit when it warmed up but still feels lumpy and won`t tick over. The only other thing that changed was I added 50ml of gear oil to bring it up to 400ml as men…

I am trying to track down a bike that turned up at a Dabbers trials a couple of years ago It is a Scimitar Ossa. It was built around 1972 by Edgar Stearn nr Cambridge and was a re-framed Ossa with bespoke seat & tank. If anyone knows of it's whereabouts, it would be good to see the bike again.

Im in the process of restoring a 350cc gripper and was wondering if anybody has a photo of the bracket that holds the seat down and where the rear of the tank bolts to as the one welded onto my frame has been broken off , dimensions of the bracket would be very helpful also . Also has anybody changed there original silencer with a alloy repackable one that can be recomended . Thanks for any help Bertie

Howdy folks, long time lurker first time poster! After spending the better part of a week trying to nut out an electrical problem with my 2013 280i, I have hit a wall. I was wondering whether some kind soul might have a copy of the service manual (or more specifically the wiring diagram) they could either send me, or point me in the direction for a legit download? I have tried downloading it from http://www.ossausa.c...arts/tech-tips/ but the file is damaged, and it now appears the site is down... Most of the referenced links in other threads to the ossa canada site no longer work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I currently have a 2011 Beta evo 250 and am considering replacing it with an Ossa. I am looking at 2011 and 2012 models, are there much differences between them ?. How reliable are the Ossa`s and what sort of regular maintainence do you have to do to them ?. I have read about the re-mapping that needs to be done, what other mods need to be done. ? . I know the bikes are light but how do they ride compared to a Beta ?. Hopefully help from forum members will point me in the right direction, many thanks.
