I've seen a picture of it somewhere (motomerlin site maybe ??) I think the large nut on the bottom of the float bowl is replaced with a very deep hollow nut thingy. |---------------| bottom of float bowl |___| original nut |---------------| bottom of float bowl | | | | |___| deep hollow nut It doesn't look much but it must allow more fuel to be stored.

I bought a 2-wire kill switch. Wire it up to the 'grey' and the 'green/black' wires in the multi-plug. I think I also connected one of the wires to the frame for a good earth.

I'll be drinking on the Saturday nights only, I daren't risk it before riding I've been told to get a spare back wheel, how important is this? Anybody got one for sale? (Beta 2004) Cheers

Went pracising with a lousy hangover (never again) Didn't ride too well, dropped the bike on a big rock that gouged the ally tank Oh well, I'm sure it will look a lot worse in May

Right then, I've done a list of what I think I'll need to do/buy, can anyone make any suggestions based on experience? BIKE PREP' Will probably include new tyres, brake pads, chain/sprockets, chain tensioner, slipper pad, fresh gear oil, spark plug etc. plus the usual grease jobs. My bike will be about 6 months old in May, are there any other jobs I should do before setting off to Scotland? SPARES Rear wheel & tyre, front inner tube, clutch & brake levers, air filter, spark plugs, gear oil. Anything else? TOOLS (to carry round) Tyre levers, tyre pump, dog sh*ts, pressure guage, allen keys, spanners, zip ties, valve key, plug spanner. Anything else? I'm sure there are plenty of you who have 'been there, done that' so any advice is welcome Cheers

Diary: - Saturday - buy some nicotine patches and drink all the booze left over from Christmas. Sunday - practice on beck sections (all day) Monday - bin the ciggies, go to the gym Tuesday - go shopping for trials goodies etc. etc.

Lol, you've got to enter to get a number! First bit of good luck I've had in ages. Wore a big cheesy grin all day, everyone in the office thought I'd won the lottery or summat. Bad news is that my mate Neil didn't get his ride I've got 4 months to get in shape and get some serious trials practice under my belt. It'll cost a few quid to do the trial so I want to make the most of it. Any experts out there want to sponsor me with some trials training? (got to be cheeky now and again) PS No doubt I'll get plenty of stick !!!

Excuse me for being thick, but shouldn't the air gun thingy attack the threaded end of the spiindle bolt?

Tell him up front and he *should* respect you for it. It will need drilling and rethreading, just done it on my front hub as I nipped up one of the disc bolts and sheared the bugger.

Have you undone the pinch bolts on the bottom of the fork?

Went up to watch last year and decided to stick an entry in for 2004 - I've just sent the wife home to see if Postie has delivered 'owt today (waiting for her to ring now...) Fingers & everything else crossed!

Does your rear mudguard line up with the back wheel? If not, the rear subframe is probably twisted and putting undue stress on the rubber bush. I bought my bike when it was 6 months old, rode/crashed it for 12 months without any problems. One crash twisted the rear subframe slightly and I had to replace the rubber bush every ride after that. Hope that helps.

Agreed, I bought a Hebo lid with removeable liner/pads last year. It's nice not to have a smelly helmet
