  1. Looks very nice although i'm sure those holes could go bigger You'd be allowed over here!
  2. Duct Tape up the side of the guard to make it wider if you really feel you need it.
  3. At a guess that'll be the one peice center and backbox which has been on the cards for a while, Fingers crossed they do a Ti version
  4. Recomended carb settings for the 08 250 and 270 are as follows. Pilot 48 Main 110 Neddle JJH position 5 (lowest clip position) Air screw 1 turn out. We've had no problems with this setup.
  5. They're not for the faint hearted and really are an experts only bike. Having said that though the power is very managable and comes in very smooth. There's just lots of it Best bet would be to try one first.
  6. May sound like a stupid thing to say but check your fuel cap is venting properly. We've had two bikes this year experiencing similar problems which turned out to be the cap not venting and so starving the bike of fuel as it causes a vacum. All you have to do is blow and air line through it to clear it. You should be able to blow through with your mouth afterwards.
  7. Most would say get a 26" due to your size but there are many longer 20" bikes out there now which would suit you fine. Stick with what you know and go for a 20" i say
  8. I've ridden for getting on 10 years now, did a lot of British Championship events over the years and some world rounds. It really does help on the motorbike which used to be the play toy for when i was off the pushbike but i guess the lure of an engine was just to great in the end. I think everyone would gain from riding a little biketrials. My dads 43 and he'll give it a go although i close my eyes!
  9. That was a local Taunton trial in August. The bike actually got complety submerged at one point and was still fine. Very impressed. Hopefully these younger riders on Osets can be occomidated at club and national events.
  10. I don't know? Don't you think that money could be better used on funding modern art? NO!
  11. If you let it go loose
  12. Texaco across the road is now at 108.9 at this rate it'll be
  13. Price have all gone a bit mad, Texaco across the road is 102.9 for unleaded 107.9 for diesal and 108.5 for Super. I blame those trials riders for demading more fuel and draining the reserves
  14. Try some italian sites as they were selling some 07 team gear, i'll try and refind them. They only made the black one to try and out do mine The TTT guys spent ages looking at it at Hawkstone haha!
  15. I don't think anyones talking about having bolts sticking all the way through into the stator you can put bolts in without winding them in that far. As has been said though an air impact driver is your best bet, even better if you've got one which you can set the torque on.
  16. I used to have the same problem what i've started to do is just sit and concentrate on breathing 30sec before you go into the section. This relaxes me and also keeps me focused on the section i'm about to go into. Might work for you.
  17. Some of the wire colours have changed aslong as it works then your fine.
  18. If it's quite a new Rev 3 then the whole lightling loom can be taken out without effecting the rest of the bike. Attach a spade the black wire from the Kill and a round end to the black and white and you can put all of this in then without modifying the bikes original loom. Easy peasy.
  19. His name is Craig Lee Scott he is currently at Leeds Uni I think. He's quite biketrials about 6 months back and now does motorbike trials on a Beta Rev 3 06 I believe. He's quite the nutter and is considered one of the best street riders in the world.
  20. levers look intresting! got any close up pictures?
  21. Throw your cheque book at these guys www.futuretrial.com
  22. Fair enough but it is still a great bike no doubt, went through a tank of fuel on people just wanting a play on it after sundays event.
  23. I pretty sure Talon did a large batch a year ago try giving them a ring.
  24. Received delivery of our first 2008 Beta today, many thanks to Mr Lampkin for his speedy service. Firsts things first got it out of the box and the pictures just don't do this bike justice you really have got to see it in the flesh. The white really works with the alloy and the decals are really eye catching. Beta have done lots of little mods that wern't listead and as you look aroung the bike it amazes me that they can improve it every year. Starting her up, the first thing you notice when you start it is how well it ticks over, imediatly you know the carb change and other related mods have had a massive effect. It ticks over so crisply and cleanly almost like the 125 last year then when you blip the throttle it's straight up no hesitation or boging even after being sat on tick over for a few minutes. First ride was a revelation really as my 07 250 is running a full factory setup on the engine with lots of little trick bits (the polished Beta at Hawkstone) now this bike is a mile ahead of my 07 much crisper off the bottem end and power all the way through the rev range. The biggest thing I noticed is how this new found grunt has opened up far more us of first gear, i've always stayed away from it on past Betas sticking to 2nd for most stuff but first now is really brillient with more punch on the top end than before. The ride seems very similar to last year a very planted and comfortable riding position, the front end feels a little lighter to move I'd imaging due to the re-valving. All in all a great first impression going to run it in fully tomorrow and have some fun. Piccys to follow before it gets to dirty.
