  1. As peeps have said above, don't be put off by the 125cc tag. The World Trials Events for youths are all on 125cc machines and you would be surprised at what they can do on them. I think the nearest comparison in rider build would be Alexz Wigg - hes gotta be around 6ft tall and around 80kgs. If your stepson could do half of what he use to do on a 125cc, he would be pretty impressive. The three main marques , Gas Gas, Beta & Sherco all have strong 2 stroke 125cc motors. I would suggest you don't bother with 4T options as they are woefully underpowered.
  2. Welcome to the site I can't help you with your request for info ( but I'm sure someone here will be able to ) , I was just interested how your stepson got interested in trials?
  3. Good ol' gravity! Its been responsible for sooooo many visits to the local A&E
  4. That engine looks massive! I bet the front end is pretty heavy ?
  5. Bike Mania has been around for some time now - but still a good game
  6. I know my mate Gaz (Bikespace) loves drop-offs (NOT!) .. so I thought I would post this and ask how many of you would have a go at this? Ross Danby - Taken at the British Experts - Carlisle
  7. I think ( if this hasn't been done already) , that the official results should show that he has been excluded for cheating so when ever anyone looks back over the historical records, It would show P Alderson - Disqualified for cheating .. Who would want that in the sacred SSDT record book.. for ever.
  8. Whats the point eh? I mean, sleep eat and work.. what's it all about?

  9. I would have thought it would have gone for more.. must be a sign of times that it didn't?
  10. Looks like it will be a bid to death between 2 people - all the others came to their sense's 1 grand ago
  11. Not sure how to read that
  12. Cant believe the guy has the crass lack of judgement to even attempt an entry.. Jeez!
  13. The thing is, because of this issue, there will probably be more attention to people breaking the rules this year than ever before.
  14. I know what you mean reference software. I have 2 seats of Autodesk Inventor Professional. Each seat (software install) cost 6.5k and

  16. You make some fair comments but the UK market is very much more demanding that it ever has been in the past. If you are expecting people to part with
  17. I'm with Dabster on this. I struggle to see where the money has gone.... I'm thinking what I could do with a 100k Budget! I wouldn't have built an engine for sure. I started an engine project last year but soon realised that is financial suicide. The only possible thing here is whether they used an outside design company to design the frame. Those costs are high especially if it’s something like Inventor or Solidworks. And before you question which end of the business I am at, it's both ends and the bit in the middle.... unfortunately
  18. That is gonna look one cool looking machine. Nice one I hope your nipper realises what a good dad he has
  19. People will decide with their wallet I suppose although I'm trying to understand what the target market Greeves is aiming for. It can't be the youngsters as it just doesn't look cool enough, and with that frame design, never will. The Middle age guys who may be tempted will be wise to buying an untested bike. That leaves the older guys into p65 etc. Would they buy one? and if so, how many as its not a growing market is it? as they say.... Discuss
  20. Dont you just love the riders glaring at the minders like its their fault! I love the dummy out the pram @ 5.45
  21. 2 more pics of it - Courtesy of TC member Hewson
  22. I was amazed when I read that Greeves were showing a new machine with the famous marque. I had to get my butt down there and have a look. As soon as I saw it I was really disappointed. Whilst I admire them having a go at breaking into this tough market with a British built machine, it looks like they haven't done their homework. Back to the drawing board I'm afraid Although saying that, It would be interesting to read a decent trials riders review of it. None of us know what the engine or geometry is like of course. ( especially with the fuel tank position )
  23. Looking past the obvious awful colour scheme, there's nothing on the bike that is anything we haven't seen before. With exception to the fuel tank position. I think it was a very brave decision to go with a 'bespoke' Greeves engine (albeit a modified sherco engine by the looks of it). To answer your question, in my humble opinion, No
  24. Sorry I didn't take better pics. A decent camera I don't have But the seat/mudguard looks bad coz it is mate
  25. Just been up to have a look at it (amongst other things). I took some pics of it on my phone camera so not great. What do you make of the Chassis? I agree on the 'machined' slot for the suspension strut. Hacked out it certainly was. Not something that you would buy when there are much better machines already available for less money. I couldn't see ANY innovations on the machine although this was claimed. Please someone put me right if you think that I am wrong.
