    sy mate,it sounds like the one of three things it could be.1 the plastick float pettles may have a little hole in it.took some petrol in and stopping the float from shutting the needle valve.2 you could have abit of crap in the needle jet its self.3 your float level could want tweeking up to the right settings.what else could it be?hope this may help you.

  8. ive got grimbo's 04 works 290,the one he won the schottish on,and thats got a standard air box rubber on it.what you need too do is put the standard one in hot water and then put it on the back of the carb,ok?on my son's 125 ive used a bit of subaru turbo hose,had a three mm ring made up to push on the air box.what you need too do though is leave the rubber on the carb permanant.try this and see how you get on.BIG BEN @TEAMSHERCO.COM.   10. well,i had a friend who had nothing but trouble with his fork seals,i told him,go and buy the right seals for the bike,and new oil,when you get the new seals,take out the spring,if you look closley,you'll see the spring has two ends,you have too twist the spring two diffrent was,then it becomes one length,cut about 3 or 4mm off the end thats not pionted,then twist it back together.use PJ1 OIL.this oil reacts with the rubber.no more leeks.i hope this is of some help,ok m8t.BIG BEN.
  11. you r right about the front pipes,when i bought grimbo's 04 works 290,it took me 3 months too ride it any sense,to be perfectly honest.so i spoke to him about it,he said put an 05 290 front pipe on,you'll find it wont be so fearse.so i did,bingo,its really lovley to ride now.he said for real big big stuff,he puts the 04 pipe on,and muddy sections the 05 pipe.my sherco looks no difrent to any other 290.BUT,i tell you its awsome,i really luv the bike,and im keeping it for ever.no other sherco compares to it.ask wayne holdsworth,he's had some brilliant results,riding it, he's a better rider than me.
  12. yes i agree with you on that one howard m8t,ive got grimbo's 04 works 290,you would'nt believe how much power thats got..totaly unreal...im 20 stone,and it took me 3 months to lean to ride it.crazy ah?my son alan has an 04 125 academy,and an 05 sherco aswell.ive put a pwk 28 plus a 290,04 front pipe on then both.really awsome compared to a standard bikes.YESTERDAY,i put the academy back to standard,someone wants to buy it,alan had a quick go on it,his words were,this is rubbish now,dad....SO THERE'S YOUR ANSWER TO PWK 28 CARBS.....glad to of helped m8t..........BIG BEN.....

  17. yes the seals are gone in the waterpump,what happens,is the sharft gets worn,takes the edge off the seals,normally only drip from cold.when the coolant gets warm,it stops.had the same thing on my sons o4 125,and my jarvis 290,replace it all for piece of mind......or one day your be dissapionted in not finishing the trial.......BEST OF LUCK.......BIG BEN........

  19. well m8t,ive got graham jarvis's 04 works 290,as soon as i got it,i put a 11 tooth on the front,really good gearing,BUT,everyone's got there prefrence. i suppose ah?ive bought a new one for mine,it was a 102 link,perfect fitting.BUT WE ARE USING THE LARGE ADJUSTERS.the gearing,makes the sherco longer in the gears.........................your chioce,ok.pleased too help.

  21. SILICONE OR NOT.....WELL IVE DONE ABOUT 7 WHEELS,WITH SILICONE,SO I KNOW IT WORKS.......THEY HAVE'NT EVER LEAKED.every one 2 there own.ah.KEEP GREASING,IF YA HAPPY,IM HAPPY WITH MY SILICONE.your chioce flo mate.happy trialing............................................................
  22. hello there flo mate,what ya need to do is,take the rim tape out,clean round the spokes with something like contact cleaner,right,put a dab of silicone on each spoke,then rub ya finger around to even it out,put ya rubber back on,do up ya valve,cut abig nozzle off the end of the silicone gun,stand the wheel on the bench,silicone all round the edge,one way.then turn the wheel round and do the other side,wet ya thumb and run it round the edge,each side,make sure its pretty level each side.make sure the valve is'nt blocked,where its un-even in the middle,just wet ya thumb and smear,with ya thumb till its even,okay mate????????stand it by the radiator for a cupple of days,NEVER LAEK AGIAN,I PROMISE.BEST OF LUCK,BIG BEN????????????????????????????

  24. i agree with,dabster,IRC'S are the cream of tyres,my son rides youth british championship trials,we use new one's for these events,keep the worn ones for local trials.every one you talk to about tyres,they always say"you can't beet an IRC"very true.you'll say diffrent,if sponsored by other brands.
