  1. Im surprised that Renault, Nissan , Peugeot and Citreon doent make a high roof version of this van , just swb and lwb. Why not ??
  2. I bought mine from British car auctions at Blackbushe. If you call them up on 01428 607440 they will tell you which models and when they are up for auction , as long as your fairly specific . Mine was previously owned by Chubb fire so was used for light use to service extinguishers and fit alarms etc.
  3. Thats a spot on job mate , well done. Those tall handlebars look as though they'll make it handle good as well.
  4. Id recommend a Renault Traffic short wheel base. They have plently of space, a good alarm , the 1.9 TD has plenty of go and a 6th gear and 18,000 service intervals. It was van of the year for a couple or so i believe. Nissan , Citreon and Peugeot have the same van badged under their name. I got my 02 plate in June last year with 102,000 miles for 3500 inc vat which i thought was reasonable Hope this helps and good luck
  5. Thanks for the photos rcGods. Shots of these bikes being used back in the good old days are hard to find . Here is one other one i have. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas...nworldround.jpg Big John , Id love to ride the Robregordo trial in May. I saw the review of it in the classic bike mag. Ive got a few extentions to build , so it may have to wait - - - the extentions , that is - ha ha Without doubt this is my favourite bike to ride. I find it better to ride for me than the Fantic 240 i have . That might be going soon.
  6. This is the classic forum for old boys with old eyes. I was just thinking of you , ha ha. I'll leave the fonts alone in future. Here are some more piccies from its first ride out today and one of the dog cos hes a good lad. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas.../DSCF0001-1.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas.../DSCF0003-1.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas.../DSCF0006-2.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas...9uk/KIPPY-1.jpg
  7. [Just thought id let you chaps and chapess's see the fruit of my latest project . You may recall i had this imported from Spain and arrived wrapped in bubble wrap. It's Merlin DG350 Gallach replica. It was named after thier main man , just like Sherco made the Cabastany replica. Ive made clear spacers for the rear wheel to make it ACU legal and plan to ride is shortly when im not riding enduro. The hardest part was trying to get a good job done by the chromers on the exhaust. They said they specialised in restoration projects but I had to return it twice to be repolished and chromed. The engine on this is really strong with muchio compression. The fiberglass seat and tank unit had to be rubbed down to the matting (because of fractures) and re gelcoated. It was a hell of a job. I even had Gallach replica decals made up or the tank and throttle top. All to match the origionals. I spent lot of time on it and Im really pleased with the result ... its a bit unusual isnt it. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas...uis_and_Jim.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas...uk/DSCF0006.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas...uk/DSCF0004.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u42/gas...uk/DSCF0001.jpg
  8. Teepee, Ive got a couple of these little puppies. and parts are impossible to find. All the dealers have nought left. Both DuckWizard and myself have pretty much cleared out the northern hemisphere for bits. Saying that there wasn
  9. I cant believe this thread is so short. It should be a cracking do and only next weekend Maybe your all 4rt owners and just chat the chat
  10. Just 2 questions folks What is the spring weight in lbs for a standard trials bike for Mr average weight - 12.5st ish How can aluminium from a siezed piston be removed safely from a nicosil barrel without damaging the nicosil with emery cloth ? Thanks as always
  11. I'm looking for a GPM piston number 773. Apparently they are Italian. Does anyone know of a supplier at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  12. Top driving! always good too know your vehicles dimensions before making any manoevure Oh i knew them , i just didnt think about them
  13. Doesnt it look fun..........well its either that or a death trap
  14. I had a bad experience with a bike rack. I had the bike on it and over took a gravel truck on a tight lane. The back wheel sticking out by 1 foot hit the side of the truck and bent the bike and rack over at 45 degrees. Twas a triffle worrying at the time I simply bent it back up again and finished my journey but never used it again.
  15. Reckon you are quite capable of doing it yourself........judging by this effort Martin Yep im pretty pleased with that one but it as so much work. I'm still making my mind up with this new Mecatecno project. The first one was to near standard spec so im thinking why do i need 2 the same ?? Id love a Dragonfly but they are as rare as Rocking horse **** with only one i know for sale thats sooooo much money and not round the corner (ie not UK). As the Skywalker evolved from the Dragonfly perhaps ill just undo the modifications they made. The engine is pretty much the same as is the frame. The forks are now upside down but other than this the bikes are very similar. Im thinking of Mecatecno dragonfly colours with flourescent orange forks , and matching Meca 3 spoke mag wheels that ive got hanging around .White frame. I may skip on going blue on the engine cases / cylinder and leave them bare. Pretty much to match this piccie here. Sure it wont be an origional Dragonfly , but it should the identical and be quite trick Ill show you the piccies once its done , by Aprilish as my current rate.
  16. Nice job Martin. Can you do this one up for me ?? It needs a bit of TLC
  17. There are a couple of products designed to stop petrol tanks from leaking. You know the sort ...you pour it in and swill it around and bingo ...you hope. Fiber glass resin is supposed to be petrol resistant , so whats the harm in using this instead ?? Any views ?
  18. Before you strip the bike down to clean , prep and paint/coat make sure everything is straight , as it should be and works with everything else. The last thing you want to to disturb that new paint , welding a blob on a kickstart , straightening footrests , levers etc
  19. The 200 engine is completely different to that of the 240. The 200 engine was bought in by Fantic from the engine manufacturer , whilst the 240 was made in house. Both are good solid engines that are known for reliability.
  20. Fanatic, The wheels are not allowed by the ACU - according to the handbook. I have other 3 spoke Merlins that i have fitted clear perspex spacers to the wheels that you can hardly see and this makes them fall in line with the rules. I plan on making spacers for this bike as well. Im certainly going to do some of the rounds next year on this bike , along with my others. Its a difficult one as the trouble always is that when you do a bike up and pour your soul into it , you dont want to damage it ,but you want to rider it as well. Its lucky ive got a few spares for when things snap.
  21. Nice try guys , some were close but noone got it right. The was a clue !! Its a Merlin 1985 DG-350 Louis Gallach replica , named as many will guess after there works rider. This bike is completely origional and unrestored apart from the rear Betor shocks. Its completely different from the DG-350 and other Merlin twinshocks and is rare as rockling horse S**t and horny as hell. I'm sure its the only one in the UK , but you never know whats lerking at the back of someones garage , which is where this has been for the past 10 years or so in Spain.I bought it on trust from Spain based upon a few photos and a seller who couldnt speak a word of English.Id send him loads of questions an hed some back with a one liner. I wired him the money and just hoped that it turned up !!. It was quite and interesting experience !!. It all came good though and further reinforces my view that trial enthusiasts where ever they are in the world, are a good bunch of geezers. The bike is complete and starts well, runs quiet with lots of compression. I'm planning a full restoration and will post piccies once its done. If anyone has any of their own piccies of these in action please post them - cheers Another piccie Another piccie
  22. A little tanned man left this on my door step today............ Can you guess what it is yet. Yes.......... i know its a bit of a nail at the mo , but you just wait and see . Exact answers only please.
  23. oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh Oh no.......There are some slightly negative TLR comments on this thread. The fuse paper has been lit..........the TLR owners are sitting back right now and fuming and mobilizing a small army. How dare someone refuse to bow in every way to these over priced trail bikes
  24. Thats a georgous bike. 125cc . It wont pull the skin of a rice pudding . Well not with me on it anyway
  25. He is an absolute demon on a bike. He totally dominates a bike like noone else ....stunning. He'll be using me as grip next weekend as were both riding the Natterjack Am planning on travelling to the States next year to watch him ride and take a holiday at the same time.
