  1. Looks very good, does the fuel injection need a battery to pump the fuel under high pressure?? I have got to say it has exceeded my expectation, cant wait to try... buy one.
  2. Why do people rate the Jumbo so highly, I have one and find it a bag of nails. Does'nt rev handling not that clever and heavy to boot. It has done very very little work so is not just a question of tuning. What am I missing????
  3. As the owner of a dozen twin shock and pre 65 trials I go with Steve with the 240 Fantic being the closest to modern in response. A large number of multi test articles (written in French) from this era can be found on the Fantic Motor Passion website. The conclusions are understandable. I have also found info on an Australian site.

    'boost Box'

Standard airbox is very poor. Use a Gas Gas or similar from a later bike to give more volume.

    Tl 125

Go to your local dealer. Ask for an after market Honda C90 step through coil. Go home and fit it. Viola.

    Tl 125

There are lots of after market coils that work just as well for little money.

Where did you get the fuel tank I fancy a smaller one for my Enfield in Crusader frame.
  8. Contact Malcolm Rathmell Sport, they had a few copies and gave me one a while ago. As the former importers they also have a good knowledge and used to carry a good stock of spares.

    Rear Shockers

Yep, falcon for me. Cheap Betor on e-bay.
  10. I had one a while back, the mods I made are as follows. Lower compression ratio by using an alloy spacer between the head and cylinder. Rathmall sport should give you details. The rear shock is slow on rebound, Race spec rebuilt mine with a 2mm hole drilled in the valve to speed things up. Other than that get out and ride they are bomb proof.
  11. When our club ran a world round last year, I did not notice any real input from Esedos. They arrive with a big truck a few banners and other bits. Then take a large slice of the cake to boot. I hope they are replaced by a less commercial organization. The time is ripe for each manufacturer to contribute to a fund which is then used to promote the sport, TV etc. That means we could have a little less Spanish dominance
  12. Been off a while so only just seen the discussion. As far as I was aware the Elstar used Ceriani forks for the trials model. Rubber bands are used in grass track and speedway. Contact me off list an I will arrange for a scan of a photo of a grass bike. regards, Matt.
  13. As a confirmed 2 stroke man I rode the 125 Scorpa last week . What an amazing little bike very user friendly engine. Bit down on power but really an eye opener. I cant wait for the bigger bikes. If only I could get ny Cub to go like it.
  14. I always use a cheap o-ring chain. Buy them now in the sales as road bikes are not selling. They las forever dont wear sprockets as fast. I'm sure someone will tell you that the absorb power make rolling back more difficult etc etc. You need to decide priorities. If you are sufficiently good to tell the difference you are probably not buying your own chain.

    Fuel

I have put a second base gasket on mine, the effect is good as it softens the motor slightly and is not as agressive of the pilot jet. It also gets rid of the knock at high temperatures common to most monts. There is also no increase in loading up as the ports are raised. ( :santawink: I also use Boyesen reeds, a lightened flywheel and a longer tailpipe)
  16. I am looking for some photos of an Elstar BSA, these were made in the mid 60's and were fitted with engines such as C15, Cub and Villiers. I am interested in the C15 version. Does anyone know of one in use?
  17. I have a very elderly Gas Gas (1987) out on loan to a friend. He is already talking of getting his own. He has 2 boys so who knows how far it will go. After 30 years in the sport it's nice to see some young blood showing an interest. My own boy is 8 I bought him a trials bicycle last Xmas, no interest so far he much prefers tennis!
  18. Lightening the flywheel certainly livens up the old girl. Dont take too much off. 200g is a good starting point.
  19. The book "Four stroke finale" by Tommy Sandham and I think John Dickinson gives you everything you need to know about Honda trials. It has been out of print for a while so you need e-bay or a specialist bbok shop.
  20. Dressed like that she can only be going down the Big Market on a Saturday night in December with a bit of a blow off the North Sea.
