    Tlr Mono

Now this is a build I can really get into! Any progress, Agricon?
  2. 50:1, Motul off-road full synthetic, aviation fuel. Not for the octane, simply because it's much cleaner than pump fuel, and I like the smell!
  3. Believe me, I'm on the fence about this. A nice modded TLR would be cool, but then again OJ has....some...history just the way it is. Not to mention the fact that in it's current state, I'm certainly not afraid to take it out and beat the crap out of it in competition. I'd think twice about that if I made it too nice. I own users, not museum bikes. But your scoot is super-cool.....
  4. Uh, let's see... It came from Parts Unlimited. The part number is shown in the pic - Yeah, the "Fun with OJ" thread is more "War and Peace" novel-like than the regular posts on ADV. There is a good part of it that is sort of a thread hijack by a certain someone that did not agree with....well, anything I did to my own bike. Skim over those parts, they do get tedious. Bottom line is, I still to this day have less than $600 invested in the whole bike, and that ALMOST covers fuel costs over the past few years to boot. A more recent pic, taken at an MWVTA event in Roswell last month - I did not compete on it though, the Team TY80 was once again pressed into service. OJ served as the pitbike! So, you gonna hootch up your 'ol Reflex, or just compete on it as is?
  5. Antics does aptly describe what usually happens on my 'ol OJ.....
  6. Oh, Lineaway was not (too) crazy when he made those peg mounts for what is now our 80. His son was what, 7 or 8 years old at the time and was already something like 8ft. tall by then. Lowering the pegs makes a huge difference on what you can accomplish with a small-wheeled 80. What are you planning for yours?
  7. Why did I look at this thread? *evil thoughts of imporoving my old Reflex "Outright Junk" beginning to lurk in* Nice scoot. Very well done!
  8. Gotta go with the van if it's just me camping solo - I do have a Class C for camping with the SO - While the camper is fun, I do still prefer the van. Simpler, less hassle.
  9. Damn, that's cool. Now you have me re-thinking ours.
  10. Quick update. Sunday's sections are ribboned, all sections scouted. Be prepared for a long loop on Saturday, 10 sections, we are taking you all over hell's half-acre. Sunday will be much shorter, 8 sections over hell's....quarter-acre. Bring good attitudes and big-boy pants, we're gonna have some fun!
  11. You are still bringing it to San Ysidro in a couple of weeks, aren't you?
  12. Bring that TLR to SanYo next month. I'd love to ride it! That finga score is an ADV Rider greeting. It's also letting the photographer (shown in the next pic) know that I was outta beer..... BTW, TY80's really do rule. Just ask this young man... Or this young man, NATC Expert Nathan Hassler - Thanks to P.S. for letting me take pics of him doing silly stuff on our mini-bike. Wish I'd have taken better photos. OK hijack over. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.....
  13. Can't argue with that. U.S. spec Reflex's are pigs!!! Wow, thanks. I'm in terrible shape, actually. Blame it on not enough excercise, and too much cheap mexican beer (Tecate, please!). OJ (the bike's name, Outright Junk, born from the guy I got one of the pile of Reflex parts from years ago. Read all about it here - http://www.advrider....t=Outright Junk ) is in semi-retirement now. Too many other projects on the front burner, and I wanted to compete on my 4RT this year (although Lineaway might talk me into another few rounds of Twinshock competition soon!!). Point being, if I could have started out with a genuine TLR 250 I would have been much happier. One, it is (from what I've heard multiple times from multiple "in the know" folks) a much superior Trials bike than the "trials style trail plodder" Reflex is. Two......well, the TLR 250 just looks so damn cool compared to the Reflex. OJ did serve it's purpose well. 3 piles of parts destined for the landfill (along with some Redneck mods) wound up as a polished turd out here in the wild, wild west. A shot of OJ at it's last competition in Roswell, NM last November (yeah, yeah, aliens, UFO's, shaddap, that Roswell) - Oh yeah, one more thing. TY80's rule!!!
  14. And the League dressed in style for the event - A HUGE thanks to John Holbrook and Ed Peacock for putting this on. We had an absolute blast!
  15. You have no idea...... The TY80 League of Extra Ordinary Gentlemen will be there!
  16. Nice for sure, no question. If I bought it (after the Lotto winning of course) I'd take it out and ride the sh*t out of it. Proof positive that I never was much of a financial whiz.
  17. Uh, I didn't mean you in my post. I was refering to a certian New Mexico rider (who rode Clubman day 1) that said he would not ride this event. No offense. And yes we do have an Ossa distributor. The marque just has not taken off here yet. Why I'm not sure.
  18. Go Little Blonde Devil!!!!! And everyone else from Team New Mexico (even you Steve O, you liar!!)
  19. Mine aren't as cool as some on this thread, but I do have fun with 'em. My '86-'87 TLR200 Reflex, built out of 3 piles of parts all destined for the dumpster. I call it "OJ", for "Outright Junk", cause that was it's humble beginnings - And a TY80 owned my me and 4 other NMTA members for the sole purpose of Buffoonery Trials before local events. Great bike, and indestructable!! Gotta love 'em!
  20. Sure does look like fun. If it weren't for the National Schedule, you would have had some interlopers from NMTA join in. More are planned for the year, right?
  21. Bummer you won't make California, Sting. You gonna make Colorado?
  22. Looking forward to Roswell. Thanks for all your hard work, John!
  23. I'll keep my 4-strokes, thanks. And my 2-strokes.
