    Betor Shocks

They are not air valves for starters..........GAZ so dont go poking a screwdriver in the valves to see what happens..............They work both ways so fit them as you like, but, and its coplicated if you do loose damping in the upside down sense they should work (giving damping in the return)in the normal mounting position. Now you know a lot more about your shocks, eh!
  2. I have had 3 in my time, fitted sidecars to 2, and owned the last one sold in the UK, no 49 as I recall, to much power, allways up in the air or down on the deck......... Also known as the Gentleman black and chrome but only seen one in sales buff never importeded and maybe never made but still have the sales buff....
  3. They do come up for sale now and again, and not expensive. Most of those who bought got there fingers burnt when Alpha went bust. The most sought after are the Honda engined first model with Stainless Steel frames, some people say only 14 were made and others say 40 odd. Nice bikes but I think the power was all wrong, it was an over bored XL and was lumpy to say the least, but very sought after now........I rode last Sunday and I say one of the first 2 strokes in very good condition. If the air cooled mono class takes of here it might make a comeback but for the moment its like the JCM and others from the same era no one is interested..........maybe I should invest..........
  4. Hello, 39cm is correct for 200tlr and 41cm for the 250. Our shocks are chrome bodied oil/gas with progresive springs alloy mountings alloy fine thread adjusting rings and alloy collars makes them suppa light as used by all the top french and spanish twinshock riders.Ultra slim tank and seat units (that dont leak) top quality finish and plastic linned interior thin latex seats with our own Honda 'Kit-Pro' stickers. We post anywhere,STOP PRESS soon pistons for TLR / RTL 250........Hope this is of interest to you Honda lovers. I'll try to post pictures but computers are not my thing.........
  5. Hello Munch, you must remember me I was last home on both days.....I loose more points on time than I do in the sections, but I love it, last year must go down as the the best ever 2 day trial...... You your bike against the elements.... Thats what trialing is all about. I spent more time fetling bikes along the intersections than I did in the trial.....'but what a trial' Now this you will like this big John... I like to play to the crowd a bit...as you do..... 'so I get to the last section on the first day and loudly I asked the observer "how are they getting on here then...." to which he replied oooh! not easy lad best is 1 from Mick.....So without futher a doo I said.... " If its good enough for Mick its good enough for me" Now this section was tight river beck with a nasty inverted root step that you found difficult to get straight on at. Well I fluked it for a one to my amazement. Now that in its own right was quite something for me but to top that last 2 sections of the day day 2 I was following Carlos round and again I asked, 'how are they getting on here then' oooh! not easy lad the best I've had all day is a 5 and a 1 from Carlos..... Same reply "Well if its good enough for Carlos then its good enough for me" I asked for a 5 in the first sub and I rode like hell to the end cards for a 1 in the second....and so shocked I was I could'nt get my litle 1952 guiler out of the beck I was all in......What a trial......
  6. Think the key to all this is in the last post, well in part.My cub is standard engine (trials gearbox)monoblock carb standard forks, rebuit, and a nice rear end set up with good brakes. This bike goes very well, gives good throtlle response at all positions and grips. Its all about how the bike is set up. Then ride it with confidence and you won't want to snap open the throtle. This is why the top lads have gone down to 19mm, to use all the power at the bottom end. Last weekend I took out my cub for a bit of practice with some good twinshock riders and they all had a go on my bike. Now bear in mind South West France is not pre 65 country, this is Fantic/Honda, land they all said the same, 'she goes better than my Honda'.........Sold it on the spot..... Set it up right is the key..PS, I'm going to buil an Aermancchi 200 next......
  7. Best twinshock ever is'nt finished yet........! In the workshop now 306 Honda power sloted into a 242 Montesa frame, now thats what I call a real Monteas/Honda......!

    Cub Kickstart

To fit Gas Gas kickstart:- The flat on kickstart shaft that takes normal cotter pin needs to be groung back carefully with a hand grinder so the flat now comes right to the end of the shaft, now ream out the steel swivel of the Gas Gas kickstart so its a nice fit on shaft then from a piece of round bar cut a d shaped piece that fits the d shapes space that remains when you have fitted the kick start swivel on to the now reground kickstart shaft, make sure you have it positioned in the right place and then weld this new d shaped piece in place in the kickstart swivel. Now a bit of pub, we make half hard ali kickstarts for cubs along with our new wide ali forged footrest/ali mounting brakets that take ali brake lever and ali chain tensioner..... PS, What is best is to use a dummy kickstart shaft in a vice, to be sure you've got it all set up/dimensionaly correct and it can then be checked at itervals so your not making a cock up.....Gas Gas kickstarts are not cheap and all this work while not complicated needs to be done well/acurately.......
  9. I've got a nice 320 mono Yam, and I've just totally rebuilt the Bruce Rushton chair, changing all the rough/damaged tubes made smaller the nose and new seat. This outfit looks and rides well, still competative even today (depending who's in trhe chair.....)Can deliver to England free.........Make me an offer........
  10. Bellavista..........He makes big ends for most of the european motorcycle manufactures, collects bike stuff just for a hobby and sells a little just for fun, not much Ossa stuff but a lot of Bult/Mont even remanufactures stuff, just for a change from assembling big ends......The last time I was there I told him he 'would need 3 life times to get rid of all this stuff' I calculated he could build 6 4 speed Bults new from stock, at 6000 euros a piece he take a break from the bigend press! but he's not interested........Next time I'm there I'll check out the Ossa stuff (about 10 days} There is a little upsurge in interest in Ossa's at the moment along with the first model Monts so keep hold of your Woody. I have both but I let my Bult go, I just never was into Bultaco's..... Never felt right between the thighs, if you know what I mean.......
  11. Mick still has this injection carb under his workbench........ And he won't sell it me..........

    Thats No Tlr

Tank and seat unit looks like it came from me, been choped back a little at the rear and sides trimed......but it looks like one of mine....! Orders taken now been for next batch. RS your seats are on the way.....
  13. Hello Woody, Just back from the pre 65 Scotish.......What a trial.......What a trial...... I divers, My site is way out of date must up date it, got lots of new products Tanks are expensive things you need to spend a grand to make a good mould, to get the finished required, then painting and sealing the interior. But they can transforme an old nail into a nice bike. Iwould say that any Honda is worth a rebuild at the moment, don't want to be controversial but its about the only trials bike you might and I say might get your money back on parts bought........I know you are an Ossa man and I think they are going to be sought after very soon, but more of a cult following. You wont see many at a trial, but parts are very much sought after and prices are going up.......Did'nt we speak in Scotland, spoke to big John, bravo...... big John.......Did you see my mates 1930 ridgid Terrot....If that machine is not in the centre pages of next months Classic Bike i'm going to subsribe to 'womans own' next year..........What a trial........What a trial..... See you all next year..........
  14. Hello Woody, try me, tank and seat unit 200 euros without the paint..... Come on you know it makes sense......

  16. How did you manage to work that out for yourself.........
  17. Well there is an alternative BPS competition shocks. We've develped our shocks over the past 2 years in both the French and Spanish championship. We have a soft damping and a new progressive spring ideal for trials, the rest is down to modern tech - mountings CNC 'd fine thread adjustment..... Shocks made today for classic bikes, our new model covers the TLR 250. Sizes from 340mm to 410mm (TLR 250) 2 spring rates...... Our shocks have been made with mdern twinshock trials in mind...... Comming soon MX models........ PICT0401_3_
  18. I don't think Mr4T is God but he's not far off........The difference is jut an 'O'....... dam goooooood, got you all going....... Brings thoughts of my dad who use to say "try to be good at what you do and good to those around you" But his best line was " THERE ARE THOSE IN LIFE WHO TRY TO DO AS I DO AND THERE ARE THOSE IN LIFE WHO WILL DO AS I ******* TELL EM".....

    Falcon Shocks

Our shocks are built fully adjustable with threaded ali ring so you can set up acording to bike and rider, you can also use in standard position if you have a loss of gas pressure, they will work just as conventional dampers. and to top that we have a new progressinve spring that gives you the rebound needed for modern twinshock trials....now beat that...

    Falcon Shocks

The reason for the gas is that it responses much quicker than the oil making up for the delay/transfer of oil, needed for modern twinshoch trials. Now for the pub....We have a full range of our new 'competition shocks' developed in Spain for twinshock trials, incuded is our model for the TLR 200/250.......www.bb@wanadoo.fr Stu
  23. Last of the real Mont's, before Honda stepped in. Very much sought after in Spain by the suppa suppa experts in the twinshock championship class, sections staight up and straight down..... Not for the faint hearted hence the need for all that grunt.... You can find a wreck in northen Spain for 300 to 4OO quid but a good one sells quickly to the good guys who then go out and turn it into a wreck!
