Busted By Police :(
I hear what you're saying...this is just the sort of thing that boils my ****;the travelers can turn the land into one big toilet but woe-betide any average joe tax payer who rides a trials bike in a dis-used quarry. And.... do the police dare confiscate their caravans/vehicles...??.. :angry:Co

When I was an apprentice working on the factory floor, in the late 80s, (a 99 % labour stronghold if ever there was one) I was tutored by a couple of Falkland 'vets' who were still 'damaged' by their experiences. One of them was so bad that when he got stressed or (according to his wife) was nodding off, he would have a nervous twitch where he would reach out to grab a SLR which wasn't there..just for comfort. The point I'm making is that when' Thatch' was mentioned these blokes never, ever blamed her for the decisions she made regarding the Falklands, they said she had more balls than some of their officers at the time.

I read somewhere ,don't know if it was Loctite monthly or LoctiteWorld ; That if you're using liquid threadlock ,loctite style, then you drop the torque by 18% !

Water Pump Help
That oil does seem ok from he photo as others have mentioned. What can I say?..I use ATF 'cos I struggle to locate anything else locally, when it goes in it looks like Ribena, when it comes out it looks like fizzy Ribena??? Why don't you try the Ribena challenge,as a flush it's safer than petrol !

Water Pump Help
I have heard of the petrol trick,I think it was on Jackass a few weeks ago, the one where they had to call the Fire Brigade...... don't do it. Back to the oil..what colour is it before you put it in the gearbox?..it will look a little paler after you've run it as the oil gets aerated in there. Back to your jug;If you let it settle, the water (if any) will sink to the bottom, making it very difficult to spot. I have recently seen a trials bike where there is water ingress to the transmission oil and the result did not resemble clear coolant, did not resemble aerated transmission oil .....it looked like the milkiest milk you ever seen .....there's no mistaking it when it emulsifies in there.

315r Sidestand....
Yup,it let's the bike lean over at an extreme angle putting too much pressure into the (soft) ground and when you come back to your bike after walking a section, it's over . How I used to love looking for an embedded stone in the ground just to keep my parked steed upright. The only good thing about it was it's ability to protect the swing arm when I made a balls of a rock/concrete step

Mont 315r Bike Weight
Is it the actual figure 79kg you have a gripe with or how heavy it 'feels' to ride? From what I recall the Monts feel very well planted and that's a feature of the original design. If you want it to 'feel' lighter and more 'agile'?! you could try fitting a new delta plate kit to the rear shock and adjusting the front Showas for less damping...just a thought I personally prefer the standard setting but I am a plodder.

I'm a bit confused here Neo?? ...(if your Sherco engine is the same as mine)..you should assemble the seals before putting the cases back together, use electricians-tape on the crankshafts just in case there are any sharp edges (keyways etc..)and then lube the seals/shaft for assembly. I once had to change the mains seals (from nitrile to viton) from the 'outside' and all I had to do was wind 2 self tapping screws into the seal and pull the screw-heads out, with a pair of pliers, to pop the whole seal out. I hope this is relevant...err... for next time maybe?

Large Wooden Cable Drums?
Do you really want a cable drum? Can you not fabricate a suitable step/platform? The reason I'm asking is that I presume you're riding them outdoors and when they get the slightest moisture on them they're lethal. Even prep-ing them with chicken wire or grit won't help.
