  1. Bumping this old post as i have a fibreglass tank i am looking to seal. I was looking to purchase Bill Hirsch sealant from Hitchcocks until i read that it is not suitable for tanks that have contained premix. A few years since this original post so wondered if there has been many success or disaster stories. I would drain the tank after each outing so i am wondering if it would be worth bothering with at all.
  2. Evesham club have a trial this Sunday http://www.freewebs.com/eveshammcc/
  3. In terms of the currency the pound would have collapsed to a similar level whether we remained or left, it is just that the time frame would have been longer. This is not my view but the consensus of currency analysts. If we had remained in the EU then the decline in GBP would have resulted in us being forced to join the Euro or in order to keep GBP we would need to massively bolster our feeble gold reserves. Personally I think Jean Claude Juncker’s head should be on the block right now as he is completely out of touch with the will of the European community. If he had reigned back on the political union agenda I doubt we would have left. It is convenient to blame David Cameron but JCJ’s stubbornness to react and amend direction in accordance to the will of the people just confirms how undemocratic the EU is.
  4. Not sure how to comment on the shape. I had a Wulf, medium, prior (version before current) i measure as 58. The Wulf was a medium 57-58 but felt fairly loose although was tight on the sides. After riding with the Wulf i would have a head ache. The Hebo fits me well and hardly know i am wearing it. I used to take the Wulf off waiting or walking at sections because i got too hot which does not seem to be a problem now. Viability is far better too.
  5. Well there is big and lardy and big and curvy, nothing wrong with a few extra pounds as long as it's the latter.
  6. I had the same issue, I lost my Leonelli lanyard and ordered an Apico replacement only to find the magnet poles were opposite. I ended up buying a new Apico switch and replacing it. The switches look identical so I am sure they must all be made in the same factory.
  7. Didn't feel decent. Felt frozen today.
  8. I might come along over the weekend, there is someone riding i would like to catch up with. I will have to to keep an eye out for you Spen, Good luck anyway.
  9. Do Vertigo employ a comedian to come up with these names? Even if i was competant enough to justify buying one of these lovely looking bikes i am not sure i could admit to owning an Ice hell, combat is bad enough. Wonder what the next models could be; Neolithic warrior Throbbing chopper I wouldn't be surprised if they are working on adapting the fuel injection to run on testosterone.
  10. I have to say i am paranoid about losing my car keys whilst out riding. Up to now they usually get left by the wheel of my car but looking at brightly coloured dry bags and lanyards. Any other suggestions or am i the only one that worries about this?
  11. What a great story this is. Very uplifting, good luck Johnboy.
  12. Ended up having a change of plan, looked at changing my girlfriends car for Berlingo or similar, endless discreet hints and persuasive comments fell on deaf ears and female stubbornness prevailed. I now have a bike rack fitted to her Jeep Cherokee and a Honda Civic tourer coming.
  13. Just realised what's missing on my bike!
  14. Yes that's him, I can't say that i really know Nigel though, i met him a couple of times and obviously visited his shop, he does some really nice work and gets some fabulous bikes to work on.
  15. It had NRP exhausts fitted and the chap i bought it off was Ian Morton. I also know Vic Haskell that races Goldstars, his office is not far from there.
  16. Perhaps, although there are so many people in the CRMC paddock, a very well supported club. The bike is a K4 and i bought it from a chap in your neck of the woods, it was actually stored at NRP when i bought it and i got D & M to check it over. I had very little road bike experience before i started and wanted to give it a go before i got too old. I started off parading to get experience, My race transporter was a green 7.5ton horsebox. I would still like to go back to it in the future, maybe when i have a little more time. Tentatively i have a 370 Bultaco part engine and Pursang frame that one day (probably never) i would like to build as a TSS replica which would not really be a good bike eligibility wise but maybe a good parade bike.
  17. Yes, being somewhat over ambitious on a cold tyre, not too many left handers on the 200 circuit. I think it would count as a five. I have to say the CRMC paddock is full of a very friendly and helpful group of people. These days I do rather enjoy being able to load the car in fifteen minutes, drive 45 minutes to a trial, arrive an hour before the start, spend all morning riding and being back early afternoon rather than the huge logistical endeavour and long duration away for short track time involved with circuit racing. I have a lot of respect for those that commit such time and effort to get on track. Good luck for the season ahead. Unfortunately, I think it’s the easy life for me now.
  18. Love the Garelli, i always think a nice classic 50 would look lovely in my sitting room,. Not sure my girlfriend would agree though. I can imagine those 50's must be a nightmare to ride with their very narrow powerbands. Me at CRMC round at Snetterton a few years ago. The shame!
  19. I also bought a cheap seal driver set. It is all aluminium and light duty but worked well and saved messing around searching for the right sized sockets.£11:95. Ebay item number261994327546.
  20. Femi is probably right but going to give it a go. Replaced bearings today but not fitted to bike yet. I am trying the bearings without seals so have 20mm long bearings in the links and two 15mm long in the knuckle joint. I will look into the bearings Femi is using next time perhaps but will try theese bronze ones for now as i have them already.
  21. I bought mine from ebay,i usually buy bearings from simply bearings as they always have a good choice although not always the cheapest. I find bearings pretty cheap though generally, it's the seals that seem to knock the cost up. I have also just bought new swinging arm bearings, i bought these from Beta UK in the end as they were pretty much as cheap as anywhere else, the seals however were a different matter, £6 a seal plus Vat if i remember correctly. I bought a set of 4 delivered for a similar price to one Beta item. I do find Beta pricing hard to fathom sometimes, some items seem very reasonable others very expensive. This is the item number for the linkage bearings 201346278336 and two of the 15mm for the knuckle joint.
  22. Have mine apart at the moment,i greased them earlier in the year which seemed to take a lot of the play out for a while but thought i would treat it to new bearings. Going to try oilite sintered bronze bushes, very cheap.
