    Not Starting.

I've started walking into rooms then wondering why I'm there? Sound like you're nearly there too.
  2. This sounds a real guddle. Screw the spindle in until the disc centralises in the caliper,be precise with this. You need a spacer the distance between the bearing centre and the fork leg.

    Sy250 Re-Furb

Sleeves should slide out. Must be stuck fast to the needle bearings. Probably the swingarm has been pivoting on the spindle/sleeves.. Likely you can drift/press the sleeves out The needle bearings are more of a pain. Maybe have to cut them somehow them before you drift/press them out Cheers the noo fae bonnie Fife
  4. I like that "sport is in the hands of DIY ers. Right enough most Trials riders I know sort everything themselves. Most would rather visit the dentist than take there bike to the local shop.
  5. The sales numbers are depressingly low? I suppose by making bikes so specialist hasn't helped this. It's hard to see a way forward.

    Marking!

    I don't remember our conversation?.
  7. It would be more than interesting to see what you would come up with Ross ? Rigid frame with girder forks ,perkins diesel and solid rubber tyres springs to mind Something like that yellow submarine you sailed on Sunday..
  8. Sad we can't make one here in the heartland of motorcycle trials. I'm sure many would like to ride a home built machine. Anyone know why Spain is a hotbed for trials bike makers
  9. A discussion on riders weight would be more relevant. As I've said before the average rider up here is about 2 stone overweight . What a shallow lot we are, most club trials could be won on a Rudge by a decent rider. We just kid ourselves that the bike makes a difference.
  10. Sure do ,everyone a banger. Clapped out 175f with 125 engine, the roughest 250f you can imagine and an 012 280sr that needs a piston. Still think they're great though.
  11. Interesting points Must say I've noticed a lot of bikes at our trials that sound less than healthy. Not old ones too. My old sy needed mains and a piston which I always put down to drowning it at a trial. Now sounds like I was not using enough oil.
  12. One on the disc side, feeling it fits into the metal disc guard which acts as a spacer too. Spindle acts as a spacer on the other side.
  13. I would suggest the Americans had job's to go to, Likely only a couple of the Spaniards did, and if they did well ,no hurry. If Bell played up here some drunk guy would join in and spill his special brew over Bell's million dollar fiddle.

    Tys 175 Choke

If I mind right it's a wee brass plunger that normally comes out attached to the cable. Seen them a bit sticky but they're quite solid so you could get away with a fair bit force.
  15. I wonder what mix they use in the SSDT? Do they mix up different ratios for different bikes? Probably the hardest most bikes will ever run.
  16. That's a slightly later one and as you must admit the operations were a complete success.
  17. I don't need a lecture in getting land for trials ,as I am trials convener of a club with about 200 members. Instrumental in obtaining 4/5 venues over the last 4 years. Trials has a serious image problem and needs promotion and I don't think any animals were used during the making of this video. Signed Allan aged 50 and three quarters.
  18. Can't seem to post a comment on the actual clip. Totally cool boys. To me this is a really positive move for trials. Far more appeal to youngsters, not everyone wants to ride round a muddy field with a bunch of 50 year olds. If every town had a pair like this the general public might actually know about trials.
  19. A pleasant day out on the North Yorkshire Moors.
  20. Ridden these wee Scorpas on and off for years. Fine for club trials and a bit light trail riding also very well made. Not really any power even in 163 form,,every climbs a first gear screamer and steps are killers as they have no clearance. My son rides one and he's at least 16 stone, but it really doesn't help his scores. The lads that run the SSDT love them as they go for ages on a tank and never break down.
  21. Just a pointer,no self respecting trials rider would start at that time. Turn up at that time at a trial and you'll get a bag of flags. As john b says get along to a trial.riding ability doesn't count for much on the club scene,it's all about fun.

    Ossa 250 2014

No I had to support the local trial, but the bike was at Glenlomond. A pal (yes I've got one) was well impressed said the clutch was much better than the earlier ones also easy to start. Said he preferred it to his 2011 280 Scorpa, felt much lighter. Hope to get a play soon..
  23. I remember getting alloy spindles for an 83 250 so I assume the originals were steel. I genuinely liked my 250.
  24. My dad used to call Bultaco's plastic bikes. I had a C15 I couldn't lift on the trailer. That would sort out your bathroom scales.
  25. Pretty sure only the later ones 84 ish had alloy spindles. The ones with the marzocchi? forks like the one pictured. I'll have to dig out some old pictures.
