Newbie From Aberdeenshire
Hello there. I trust you're not planning riding on that faired thingy at any trials? If so I would suggest ditching the slicks. Dare I suggest you're an ex racer/roadie? Our club's full of them. Some even finish a trial now and then. Cheers.

Promoting Trials
Valid point Taff. Worth thinking about,Wobblers def'has a inferred comic ineptitude about it. Does however invoke interest from non trials folk. Maybe I should start a sister club? That "Rockhoppers " name sounds good. Thanks.

Promoting Trials
Thanks again folks. We're still picking up members, but still lose a few as is natural. We're still like a secret society at times,I feel this is our greatest burden. I've said similar before, there's plenty riders out there if only they knew about trials. Cheers.

Trials Vs. Enduro Bikes
In general I would say the Trials bike would be ones weapon of choice. Not always though, look at some of the extreme enduros. You need sheer power and lots of travel to get up things. Trials suspension doesn't work well at speed.

Scorpa 250F Clutch Drag
Thanks for the replies gents. I'm happy enough with the way it's adjusted and biting point. When it gets really hot is when you notice It especially trying to find neutral. I think a strip down is on the cards. Cheers.

Which Is Best ,beta Evo Or Txt Gas Gas 2013
IMO makes no difference between starts and end cards. Why anyone up here would need a 300 is debatable as all we do is piddle around in burns and tight stuff.. No many old gassers at out trials, lot more Betas???

Scorpa 250F Clutch Drag
Hi folks. Got an 07ish of the above. No really wanting to put a new clutch in it as it doesn't slip . However it doesn't clear cleanly even right in. I've tried a number of semi synthetic oils and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Advice welcome.. .

Trail Cz :-)
Me too, though I'd be picking up a state of the art East European trialer for about 1500 euros soon.

Penrith Observers ?
Ride a trial using only your own skill and determination? It'll never catch on. Far too British.

Filter Oil?
I found the bigger problem was keeping dirt away from the filter in the first place. The standard set up is poor, you'll need to silicone the airbox where it touches the subframe and i would suggest foam or thick double sided tape round the top of the subframe. Leave a gap so it will only draw air from the front. Also seal up the silencer/airbox gap with duct tape and any other obvious gaps as well.. Have look at other Scorpas and see what there owners have done. I found filter oil wasn't much good after I had a couple of inches of water in the airbox..

Newbie Looking For A Bike - Advise Appreciated
Though I would agree modern 125s have plenty go,i feel a250 would be the way to go. You don't have to ride the clutch so much and the more flexible power will let you away with a bit more. Easier to get a nice one and to sell I would suggest. Buy on condition rather than make preferably from someone who's into the trials scene . .

Possibly The Sh@#test Gearbox Design Ever?!
My point would be these lightweight designs are ok for experienced riders that know what there doing. They can pre emp problems and if thing do go wrong they know how to deal with them. In Shercoben's case it's awful, here we've got a new rider to the sport who will probably struggle to get this repaired. Up here we've a few worthy clubmembers and good dealers who try there best to help the local lads out when they get big problems. I think you will need to find a friend Ben?.

Great Service
Spares ordered at closing time yesterday from In Motion/Bultaco UK arrived this morning in far flung Fife. Told them there was no hurry too. Even spelt my name right. Brilliant.

Backwards The Way Forwards?
As a fellow trials rider pointed out on another forum recently,"The average trials rider is about 2 stone overweight,so what difference does a saving of a few grammes make" As we British, and you Americanites don't make any trials bikes we,re not in a strong position to criticise makers. My concern is that we lose riders because of reliability issues and high depreciation and spares prices. i'm not keen on going back to girder forks yet, however a very realistic minimum weight for bikes would get my vote.

2013 Ossa 280I
Loads of our members have Ossas, certainly have to say they've had a few issues. If it's just trail riding i would suggest a 4rt,really sturdy still Fi and a decent range. Sound great too, good resale as well.

Backwards The Way Forwards?
The bikes have certainly become very specialised over the last 20 or so years. Undoubtably this is limiting the market. Where do you go from here? Unless there is demand for changes trials will continue on the same path. Could end up like most other motorsports where money as much as talent is the requirement?

2009 Sy250R Specs And Availability
I've a 2011 and I think it's one of the first with the sherco (270) engine. Rides significantly better than the old one, much lighter. Quite a few up here as we have a local dealer that promotes them. Nice to be different from the crowd too.

Fujinami Stall Cost A Five In Non-Stop
I thought trials was supposed to test man and machine? Shouldn't get any sympathy for a a badly running bike.
