    Oh well you can be sure i will get a response like that when i get to them ( i'm at sea just now) and if i do they will get an extremeley large rocket up the bum because i'm not being palmed off with an excuse . JJ65 Give e'm hell Doesn't this just show what buying quallity gets you ! So don't stop giving them hassle untill they cave in . An email is all it takes .

    I get your point here lineaway but that's no reason for poor quallity control and as a purchaser in the UK you have certain right's , no matter what the booklet say's. That phrase in the book is an excuse for unmittagated bad workmanship and paying i guess 8 or 9 thousand dollers for a 4RT in the US i expect you would see your hoop if you got service like that. Please don't think this is a rant my friend because it isn't.especially not directed at you. Trying to get the point across of not accepting the get out clause crap any longer.If they flog you quallity ,then you should get quallity. Lad's open your mouth to Honda UK or wherever you live.If they get enough crap they will want to silence it before it gets out of hand. As a rider to this i have just sent an email to customer service and told them that we are unhappy with the quallity of their product .I will post the respons when it undoubtably comes. Hey guys , as a point of interest how's the 2015 repsol linkages lubrication?

    4Rt Quality ?

    Ah well . Now we get down to the nitty gritty. stripped every linkage and bearing on the chassis before i even did anything from new last year when i bought new. To find what ? Very little or no grease at all on some of the shaft's or bearing assemblies.I was seathing ! They got a rocket up there ass from me . So whoever assembles the chassis isn't greasing as they should and if it's a Honda product ,that name stands for quallity throughout the motor cycle world . Honda are being very nice about my clutch assembly,SO DON'T GIVE UP. Hey mags if that was my bike it would be back at the shop now considdering where you live .It's not on !
  5. Hell fire pal that's really bad luck you have there. You could try getting or asking for ally cases from another country and get them shipped . You can also get a better quallity bashplate from off ebay . I saw them recently for £120 . You can bet they will be more effective than the standard GasGas one. I get parts with no problem on the whole despite the press etc from GasGas UK . Don't think that GasGas arn't in production. Gas Gas UK got 80 bike's delivered last week and i heard that from Andy Hippwell so it's not bull dust .That's for my 15 year old TXT 280 too by the way . Give them a shot as a last resort . Good luck .

    To the point ! Agreed steve-earl , and what everyone in the office at my work said things along those line's when they read this whole post. We laughed . For the push you push me comment i unashamedly made ,watch MadMax 1 where Bubba Zannetti and Cundalinie (from memory) arrive in the bush town on thier bike's, and it sum's thing's up perfectly. Why are we policing each others comments?

    4Rt Quality ?

    Defiantly wouldn't boil , but about the 260 degrees C. there's something you should try . MOTUL GP DOT 4 boils above 300 degrees C . It costs more than ordinary DOT 4 but it is better for the job . The lever feels better and you can now hear the action where as before it was quieter,and although the lever was smooth before It's now snappy . Now i have to go back to work. What is time off ?
  10. Maybe TRS might give the other manufacturers a boot up the ass to get things right . For a start off , if it comes with a decent side stand , that will be £130.00 you wont have to spend for something that works,as opposed to something that's just plain ill thought out rubbish as on Montesa and GasGas . self destruct mudguards , (How much for a piece of plastic with no design technology whatsoever) Beta . That's providing they get things good themselves first crack.
  11. I've tried them all,and for the money verses results GRO is the best ,then Putoline nano ,then 740 HTX then PJ1 Prices range from twelve per liter to getting on thirty. If the bikes brand new to you it probably recommends HTX in the manual you should have.Tried all these oils and more on my then new 2014 bike. Having said that i'm not an oil expert ,it's just what i've experimented with.
  12. Interesting stuff. I have a view or two on the subject. First off. I saw a 3 cylinder supercharged two stroke sports car made from aircraft alloy and carbon fiber made by General Motors . So R&D is there.That was in 1994. Lots of technology development available now . I'm all for two stroke's. It also depends on who's developing the two stroke's There wasn't much un burnt fuel coming out of mick Doohan's NSR 500,but it would be a thirsty beast.

    Hey copemech ,i'm not a prick so don't make out i'm one.No offence ! I could be wrong , but before i charge in head long ,i 'll be looking at the simple things first. So why would Bou have a cylinder on the outside ? Probably because it contributed to a problem on the inside .

    Had a thought on the way home this morning about the clutch.Where's the slave cylinder? answer ,in the clutch cover bathed in red hot oil. Boil brake fluid in the system,what happens Brake fade ! Maybe that's the same process what's going on in the clutch slave.it won't boil it but it will be pretty hot in there for a long period of time. Hence the problem coming when the bikes hot. The clutch just isn't operating ! maybe the fluid is just no good.

  16. One manufacturer struggled like hell and spent hundreds of thousands trying to make 2 stroke injection work.Honda . Unfair to put it like that really because they tried it with the big bang NSR 500.Given the 15 year technology gap and i bet they would get that right now. One big bennifit i see from injection is correct fueling for a broader set of conditions . I like carbed bikes and i like injected ones. certainly less things to wear out and possibly better quallity control on the componants as the engineering is less hit and miss .Simple . i'll be honest and say the only reasons i dont like injectors is because they arn't shiney and you cant strip and clean them . Bank of 40mm flat slide mikunis or a set of injectors . mmmm.

    Yep on the side stand ,it is excellent . Bought one from Sandiford's Montesa Got to say Gas Gas can throw thier stands in the bin too because they arn't worth a blow on a rag and bone mans trumpet either. Do you have rag and bone men in Utha sportsawyer ? Hey mags , i'm going to investigate further when i eventually get off this place , Getting lashed by massive waves and high winds just now and the whole joint is swaying everywhere,and im 3 day's over my trip already and tomorrows the same again. Will post the response i get from Honda see what they have to say. Think i can guess but at least it will be interesting.Will post it right here. Ted

    jrsunt . would agree to a degree. But what i'm going to do is write a letter to Honda and see what they have to say as there may be a fix that is available.Will go about thing's the right way though just to test the water.The thing is if no body say's something then it goes on and quite honestly ,some of the thing's i've read on here regarding quallity with different brands,well it's a bit cack to say the least,that we allow it to go on. Not being daft and don't expect every thing to be faultless but the clutch problem has really p****d me off. Hi guys,ive tried every oil there is available and the best rersults i've had are with GRO and Putoline Nanotech. How's the Repsol ? With the HTX that the bike comes with the take up on engagement is snappier,not a problem . For the price the GRO is the best one,but the Nano has the best cold release. The guy wuo runs H&D racing puts engine oil in his Mont and has no trouble ,but he's bikes an older model with different clutch. Any way to get back to it,the point i'm trying to make is at getting on for £6000 for a new base model bike with the 4rt reputation it should have quallity well and truley nailed.
  19. b40rt , don't think you need to worry about anything in France , i used to live there for 5 years and came back to the U.K 3 years ago. I raced bikes there with no problems . Make sure you have good health insurance and take a credit card for back up . I found that out the hard way with a 3 rd gear high side , which resulted in a nice heli ride to Poitiers Hospital du militere and intensive care for three weeks. Sounds ace where your planning to go , Oh yes nearly every thing closes on Sunday so make sure you go the super market on Saturday, and don't speed. The Gendarms will be merceyless.

    Well you know , this has nothing to do with preference with me. When the bike gets hot the clutch doesn't dissengage and the gear selection (naturaly) goes rock hard to shift.When it's cold it doesnt dissengage as with nearly all trials bikes. When it's warm its ok but as soon as you start to give it some rev's or put the engine under some load at low revs like on a slippery long clime, sure enough two minutes later it just wont dissengage and you arn't going to find neutral . What's bizzar is that the TXT i had before this bike , the clutch was no bother at all. What it has got to do with is that we pay for new bikes with brill suspension and fuel injection ,ECU controled ignition and injection ,water cooling,but they can't get the clutch right .Why ?And if that's not something to do with quallity then what is.

    Not from me ,and i think if you read through most ads,some older posts on certain subjects , you will see one or two things with the 4rts that are a thorn in thier side the clutch , side stand , power vs grip .Fortunatly with the 2014 model i can say it finds grip very well . Never been on a 4rt before i bought this so would not and cannot give any comparisson other than i have. What i say is that the quallity is unchallengable ,but for the price new i expected the clutch not to do what it does nor for it to come with tyres that grip like they're on ice (mainly the front) and to have the neck to Put better tyres on the repsol as an upgrade,difference in price for the tyre wholesale would be what? Get my drift . Im not saying the 4rt is a crap bike.No far from that,because it's not ,but for a bike with that reputation i wasn't expecting to put a Mitani or any other kind of clutch plates in .Niggles on a bike with excellent potential.

    Thank's Dave. It's down to the plates . Mainly the friction plates . I'll look and find the solution on offer,and quite honestly ,i think you would be more able on the 4rt. Think the Beta is better to handle in a section . If you want a ride on the 4rt you can have a blast on mine .

    Side stand scrap,Dunlop front tyre , hedge hunter , clutch no better than any other trials bike manufacturer,sump shield just about quallifies as one , £5700, base model 2014 , new , it should be better. Nice though . The hard copy manual is unparalelled in the trials world. Can't help this view though , just think it's about time they got thier finger out and got the basic's correct before introducing more technology, that alot don't understand let alone know how to use.

Push comes to shove,i might consider a 250 it's the 200 id be looking for .That's my problem the effort required to muscle the bike around.Don't get me wrong some things ive tackled on it ,it doe's with blinding efficiency . If thier was another chunk of me id manage it ,but there's not. Skill level come's in as well.2013 i rode 16 trials ,last year, 4 and one of them was on my TXT 250 .did a few stints at backcowm too and if i'm truthfull was hesitant to try stuff id just charge at on my old 280 edition. The landing from a drop shakes the steel pin in my shoulder,or at least that's how it feels.
