  1. i've signed the petition. 150,000 people went on a march around London, and poured thousands of pounds into trying to stop a ban on hunting. 75 got hunting stopped. Makes no odds what you think about hunting as that's not the point.Point is there's some sneaky *******s in the government. In this case, you've no idea how far reaching it will be.Massive job losses in the UK surrounding motor sport. The knock on effect- that brand new Vertigo you just bought or Montesa, won't be worth a penny, the people who manufacture them will lose a good market and so on. Be interesting how many have signed up to this ,considering the time it takes, every one of us should have done this, then got your mates to do it too. Talk about fascistic laws.Just another way of stopping personal freedoms.

Untill i read all this , i was on for a new GasGas or new there abouts.I have read the FI doubts and think your going to see the further use of this more and more. There is a graeater push at the moment in two stroke tech so more advances will be made. Was only back 16 years that they failed miserably with two stroke FI ,and that was with the then bigest motor company in the world,Honda. Before the Blah Blah starts that was on Mick Doohans bike. Remember the Bimota Vee Due ? FI faileb even more miserably. Enough. So by now ,who's riden in anger ,whats crap what's really good.Whos broken anything, how long has it taken to get spares?

Ha ha ha ha ha. This made me laugh. My 4rt was louder with the standard pipe on than the Ternignoni i fitted. I would love to live where you live. Think it looks great where you live and how lucky are you to have that by the side of your pad? It's a great vid by the way. I would like the 250 Vertigo that's why i'm reading this.
  4. I was about to ask the same question you have leosantanalg. You can take this advice with a pinch of salt but none the less this is what i learned. I have had a truck load of trials bikes ,but lets stick with the past 5 years. I have a year 2000 GasGas 280 TXT.I have had it for 6 years now. In the mean time i had a 2013 TXT 250 pro. I got rid of it to buy a brand new RT Montesa in 2014.Great bike and you can feel the quality but ( oh no ) i hated it by the time i sold it.Not whithstanding the problem i had with it from new which Honda would not acknowledge.I Fixed it in the end . It was simple. I found it great in some conditions but overall as a trials bike ,the 2013 pro left it for dead, in my hands at least. For the money i would go for the TXT contact but,i wanted to know how people had got on with it ,should anyone have one and riding week to week. If it rides as good as the 2013 Pro then you have a real weapon in your hands. Oh yes ,you will never need to buy new front tyres for the GasGas,because you will spend all your time, as i did, on the back wheel . Montesa for me ,to heavy . I weigh 11stone seven. Regards Ted
  5. Long time no see guys.Hope everyone is well and enjoying their bikes. Been a turbulent couple of years since the death of my step dad and lots of water under the bridge as they say. So i have rebuilt my TXT 280 and made my mind up to trade it in or swap for a later model GasGas or a 200 Beta. Tending to go with the Gasser as the frame is easier to repair. Anyway hello to you all again.
  6. You can see the frustration eating away at Marquez, and that's because he's realized he can't just beat other world class riders the way he did last year, this season. Yamaha and Rossi have got the right package to be on term's with Honda / Marquez package, and without doubt that's a good package. Yamaha still have the slower bike ,but not by as much. I hope it goes to the wire. I hope Rossi wins the championship and without any daftness starting i think the fairing bashing will go to the end and that's because they both want the win. Let me rephrase what i really mean with the last bit of the last sentence, one's trying to win at all cost the other wants it more than anything else. That sounds a bit stupid but the words trying and want make a hell of a difference in the psychological war that's probably going on between those two and we know who the master of that one is! That's only my opinion . SUBITO,SUBITO ROSSI
  7. Providing nothing daft happens this championship might go to the wire and i think if Rossi is there, it will be a close run thing. Incidently, getting rid of Jeremy Burgess hasn't harmed Rossi at all. So maybe there was preference being showed to Lorenzo camp and JB had no answer or was holding out on instruction. One thing that hasn't been shared is charisma ,Rest of the pack still don't possess any. #46 subito !

And to add petrol to the fire it's Rossi again. Watched that crash on an Italian web site time and time again and i think Marqueze was out psyched and panicked. Now the cracks have been exposed , and although Casey Stoner was a fantastic rider, same happened with him .

Come on then let's here the " Rossi should throw the towel in now and give his ride to another younger rider" Said to the doubters and will say it again ,he still has the go as long as the pacage is there so is he! Don't care where he finishes this season ,just hope he has consistancy and gives them all a real run for their money Bet the psychological tension is massive in the GP paddock now.!
  11. I can't get any info out here so i take it Rossi won ! It's funny how plenty people wrote Rossi off ,there's no denying he's got the hunger still . Was it a close race ? Because of cut backs here we have no sky and cant get you tube. On that note ,did any of you see the Phillip island WSB race . It was like 250s used to be,just brilliant.
  12. I think they got the manual times when they were smashed on Sake. You can bet Honda san is rubbing his little Japanese hands when people follow those cylinder / piston service times as they probably give him a financial erection !

  14. I brought a bike back from Belgium. Will it be new and are you registering it in Spain or where ever ? If yes for your own sake ,make sure you get all your VAT & NOVA paperwork in order. Mine was second hand and i had all the conformity,VAT,registeration origine cert and recipt from the purchase . The fact that you will be paying VAT in Europe doesn't seem to make any odds you still have to proove it. Check out in the internet gov.org importing a vehicle . Good luck and good idea just don't let the paper shufflers ruin it .

That odd i seldom use it.More at home with 2nd & 3rd my self. Think it's lack of skill or a mental thing as when i use first ,i always seem to fook whatever i'm tackling up . Couldn't agree more on your word's.
  17. I have used Nano and still keep it but is swings and roundabouts with GRO oil.No complaints what so ever. It's specifically designed for wet clutches as you will know too. The cost of Nano reflects the amount of hours you leave it in for extra.Oh yes ,and the nono's. Not that advantages over the GRO and thats almost half the cost so can be changed twice as often hence my comment. Strangely enough though ,just changed gearbox oil this time with the GRO and it was spotless after some severe abuse with the clutch now that little problems been sorted. The biggest advantage i found over the GRO is it doesn't take as long to warm up,and easier to slect first from enitial start up.I always let any bike warm through any how but that's what i found. How are you getting on with and liking the bike though?
  18. Ha Ha the above made me laugh when in true Yorkshire fashion he call's the fella " son" ha . Great!
  19. Just knew that would strike a chord with you lad's hope you enjoyed that .
  20. Yes the last sentence i is a true fundamental of hydraulics, When oil flows from a high pressure to a low pressure without doing any work, heat is generated. In this case the fluid has no tank to go back to either so the whole systems effectiveness is lost to heat, should that condition occur.
  21. Watching this i must have started my mid life crisis at the age of 8. If you agree give it a like or drop a line. Just a pity we in the UK don't have as much available access to open space as Aussies and Americans have . None the less ,i agree with the philosophy,do you? WHY WE RIDE: mid-life crisis philosophy & motorbike riding https://youtu.be/LRQyEBY5YjQ secretgardenproject Find it on you tube ! Ted
  22. Msport without a doubt could help you there.Call them up and they will point you in right direction.I see that they build the standard shock and re spring that . DH racing in York are worth a call too . Both have web sites . At a push Banyeres sell exchange shocks but think the postage would be a bit of a bugger there. On the other hand, get yourself to the news agent and get Practical sports bikes as it has a supplement on suspension overhaul . The guy who does it has been to ohlins for training and dealt with bikes for years. Have a do your self .

    Gas Gas Future?

It's all a bit bizzar this if you think. I know of 4 official Honda/Montesa importers and 1 independant in the UK. I know of 4 official GasGas distributors in 50 mile radius of where i live Martin Sandiford of Montesa fame, being a GasGas distributor closest one . The GasGas is a fantastic bike to ride ! The current situation would not stop me from buying one new if i wanted ,nor you lads out there. If it does stop you and you want one, that just exasperates their problem.Hope that last sentance makes sense as it's not a jib at anyone. So they are a victim of their own circumstances unfortunatly. A nich crowd who's iffing and butting weather to buy a brand new bike, massive debts for a relativly small company who appeal to a minority. So what do they do? A lower tech bike might appeal to some . Don't know about you but i would sooner have a cheaper heavier GasGas than a light weight cheaper China or India bike,no matter how good it is . Bregh is hitting the nail on the head for me though.Few new customers, bikes that are getting dearer and more complexed every year, no media coverage. Thats all befor you take the competition in to the equasion.
